"Spare me... I'm just a runner, please don't..."
The guard's words were cut short as his body suddenly convulsed violently, as if struck by lightning. Several arcs of eerie blue electricity coiled around him like serpents, twisting in the air and crackling with sharp sounds.
Quickly, the guard's entire body was scorched by the powerful current, and a foul burnt smell filled the air.
"I'll take your Flight Ability," Lu Xiaoran said with a wicked grin as he removed his Hazmat Suit and stepped forward to grab the guard's arm.
When he had just escaped from the sanctuary, Lu Xiaoran noticed a figure closely following him. This person was also flying in the air, clearly possessing a Flight Ability as well.
Initially, Lu Xiaoran planned to increase his speed to shake off his pursuer. After all, he had duplicated the Flight Ability twice before, and now his flying speed was double that of an ordinary Flight Ability user. Shaking off this guard would be a piece of cake.
However, after a moment's thought, Lu Xiaoran decided it wasn't necessary. There was only this one person chasing him; he had no need to escape.
A cold smile crept onto Lu Xiaoran's lips. The reason he had fled from Fog Mountain Sanctuary was that there were too many enemies; he feared being surrounded and overwhelmed. After all, two fists cannot fight against four hands; even fierce tigers fear packs of wolves. Facing over fifty Ability users in the sanctuary, he couldn't afford to be overly confident and should avoid direct confrontation whenever possible.
Now, the Flight Ability user pursuing him had fallen behind. Against such an ordinary opponent, Lu Xiaoran had nothing to fear; he could easily deal with him.
"Let's take action at that television tower ahead," Lu Xiaoran thought. After leaving the sanctuary, he flew northward and soon spotted the towering structure in the distance.
He quickly recognized it as the landmark of Haitong City—the Haitong Television Tower.
As Lu Xiaoran approached the tower, he flickered and landed on the observation platform at its top. He then entered the tower through the entrance on the platform.
"This will be a good place to set up an ambush," Lu Xiaoran decided as he reached the top floor of the tower and concealed himself quietly beside the staircase, waiting in silence for his prey.
As soon as the guard approached the staircase, Lu Xiaoran leaped up and captured him mid-air. Without giving the guard a chance to struggle or escape, Lu Xiaoran unleashed his Electric Shock Ability, killing him instantly.
With that done, he had successfully copied the Flight Ability once again, significantly enhancing his flying speed. Lu Xiaoran kicked the charred corpse aside.
Having just touched the lifeless body, Lu Xiaoran felt a surge of energy flowing into him. It was clear that he had now absorbed the Flight Ability that the guard possessed.
