Hua Long burst into the bedroom, leaping and bounding over the furniture, his body moving like a nimble monkey as he darted around the room. Soon, he found himself at the window.
Seeing that this window had no security bars installed, Hua Long couldn't help but feel a surge of joy. If he could just climb out, he could easily make his way down the wall to the ground below.
Just as he reached out to pull open the window, he suddenly felt a hand pressing down on his right shoulder.
Nervously, Hua Long turned his head and met Lu Xiaoran's gaze. "You... how did you get here?" His eyes were filled with disbelief.
After rushing into the bedroom, he had deliberately knocked over several pieces of furniture to create obstacles, hoping to slow Lu Xiaoran down. He never expected that Lu Xiaoran would catch up to him just two seconds after he reached the window.
Lu Xiaoran remained silent, a cold smile creeping across his lips.
With a sharp crack, Lu Xiaoran's right hand tightened around Hua Long's shoulder, crushing his entire right scapula in an instant.
Hua Long let out a horrific scream, his face turning as pale as paper. From the force Lu Xiaoran had just displayed, Hua Long realized that he too possessed a strong body ability.
He looked at Lu Xiaoran as if he were staring at a monster. Until now, Hua Long had always believed that all ability users were like him, possessing only one type of ability. But here was Lu Xiaoran, who seemed to have so many different abilities; this completely shattered Hua Long's previous understanding.
Faced with such a monstrous opponent, Hua Long knew he stood no chance of winning. All he could do now was plead with Lu Xiaoran for a chance at survival. "Big brother, I was wrong... Should I kneel for you? Please spare me."
Lu Xiaoran paid no heed to his pleas for mercy and summoned his Freezing Ability with a thought. Soon, ice began to form around Hua Long's right shoulder, and within mere seconds, his entire body was encased in ice.
Now, Hua Long stood motionless before the window like a frozen statue. Lu Xiaoran turned away and sighed to himself. This situation was difficult to explain...
Three Ability users had died within just one day after teaming up with Lu Xiaoran. This could very well raise suspicions from Zhang Kai. It wasn't that Lu Xiaoran didn't know how to restrain himself; he had been pushed into a corner, with Hua Long's fist poised to strike his head.
Lu Xiaoran couldn't afford to gamble on whether Hua Long would hold back. After all, as someone with a strong physical Ability, a full-force punch could easily shatter Lu Xiaoran's skull. So, he chose to strike first and eliminated Hua Long.
Well, what's done is done; he would figure things out later. With Hua Long now dead, there was no point in regretting it. Lu Xiaoran left the window and prepared to exit the room.
By the way, I just made contact with Hua Long; I wonder if I managed to copy his Ability.
