After Ren Jie left with the supplies, Aunt Liu and the others were left barely breathing. They had just begun to heal from their arrow wounds when they were brutally beaten by Ren Jie and his group, making it difficult for them to even stand up.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, what a pity they weren't killed," Lin Tianyu muttered to himself as he surveyed the scene before him.
Inside the Community Committee, Aunt Liu felt completely immobilized. Struggling, she managed to find her phone, opened a messaging app, and located a contact named Shen Weiwei. Shen Weiwei was a resident of the building; she had a twin sister named Shen Xiaoxiao. Before the apocalypse, the sisters ran a clinic together, both being doctors.
As a member of the Community Committee, Aunt Liu was well aware of everyone's professions in the neighborhood. Previously, she had sought help from Shen Weiwei for her arrow wounds, but Shen Weiwei had ignored her. Now, facing life and death, Aunt Liu had no choice but to reach out to her again.
"Shen Weiwei, you must save us! The people in the Community Committee are on the brink of collapse!"
After editing the message, Aunt Liu trembled as she pressed send. She then shakily took a photo of herself and her colleagues in their dire state and sent that as well.
In her apartment, a stunning woman with an appearance rating above nine was curled up under her blankets, shivering. Beside her lay another person who looked exactly like her!
When Shen Weiwei received Aunt Liu's distress message, she couldn't help but furrow her brow slightly. Initially, she had little sympathy for the Community Committee's plight, believing it was all self-inflicted. Therefore, she hadn't planned to get involved. However, seeing that these people were now at death's door made it impossible for her to remain indifferent.
After some hesitation and discussing with her sister, she ultimately decided to help them. Quickly donning a heavy down jacket and grabbing a medical kit, she hurried towards the Community Committee.
"These people are unreliable; they might bite back," Lin Tianyu commented as he observed a doctor arriving at the Community Committee.
Upon arriving at the Community Committee, Shen Weiwei conducted simple physical examinations for everyone and carefully bandaged their wounds. She left behind several boxes of medicine with instructions for everyone to take them on schedule before departing.
Not long after Shen Weiwei left, Liu Dahu and his brothers limped into the Community Committee, dragging their injured bodies behind them. They had seen messages in their WeChat group about food being available here and came hoping to get a share.
As soon as Liu Dahu stepped through the door, he shouted aggressively at Aunt Liu and the others: "Hand over the food!"
Before Aunt Liu could respond, Li Hao trembled in fear and quickly explained: "Tiger Brother, all the food was taken by that bastard Ren Jie! There's really nothing left; he nearly beat us to death!"
Hearing this, Liu Dahu's anger flared uncontrollably. He kicked Li Hao hard and cursed loudly:
"You useless bunch, you can't even guard a bit of food. What good are you?"
With that, Liu Dahu turned to Left Ear Stud and barked an order, "Left Ear Stud, skin them alive!"
Receiving the command, Left Ear Stud strode forward, a sinister grin spreading across his face as he approached Aunt Liu and the others.
When he reached Aunt Liu, he didn't hesitate to swing his fist, landing a heavy blow right on her face. A dull thud echoed in the air as Aunt Liu collapsed, unconscious.
Next, Left Ear Stud shifted his gaze to Li Hao, grabbing him by the collar and lifting him off the ground. Li Hao was filled with terror and pleaded repeatedly, "No, Tiger Brother, please show mercy and let us go!"
