The Acupoints stared wide-eyed in horror, making frightened gestures to retreat.
The crowd's astonishment deepened. They couldn't understand why this was happening. It was true that Entities would fear and refrain from attacking powerful humans, but that only applied if the human was of a higher Rank than the Entity.
Yet, judging by physical attributes, the supporter who had arrived was clearly Rank Six; so why was an Acupoint of Rank Six also afraid? And why did it retreat in fear upon seeing the volunteer?

The earlier Sequencer wore a puzzled expression. No one answered him; they were equally baffled. Even among Sequencers and Entities of the same Rank, there shouldn’t be such immediate fear upon meeting each other, regardless of their Sequence levels.

Yelai's eyes lit up, and his strange smile widened as he waved at the Rank Six Acupoint, silently mouthing words without making a sound. Even though he didn't speak aloud and only used lip movements, the Acupoint understood his message in terror.

Both the content of his silent message and his eerie smile acted like a key to unlock the memories within the Acupoint's mind, awakening its recollection of past encounters with Yelai.

The Rank Six Acupoint screamed. It wasn't a roar of anger or a howl of rage; its voice was high-pitched and loud enough for everyone to recognize that it was a cry of sheer fright.
In the next moment, just as they expected, the imposing Rank Six Acupoint among the others began to retreat in panic, scrambling backward as if it were a frightened widow trying to escape.
At that moment, unlike others who were dumbfounded, Yelai greedily absorbed the fear emanating from the surrounding Acupoints.
Not only had the Acupoint's memories been awakened, but Yelai's were stirred as well. An involuntary Unknown Horror smile crept onto his face—one that had only appeared when he was in control before.
But now he was different; he simply craved the scent of fear because he was about to reach Rank Seven.
He rushed toward the Acupoint, imitating his time-controlling self, laughing maniacally.
"This time, I won't let you escape! Stay right here!"
As he spoke, he glanced around at the other Acupoints and added, "You all are the same!"
When he first arrived at the Signal Point, he had been racking his brain on how to instill fear in the Acupoints in large numbers. Now it seemed unnecessary, as these Acupoints were old acquaintances of his.
In the time that followed, Yelai was filled with joy.
If Yelai's Sequence Rank had a display for the Progress Bar at that moment, one would surely see it rising steadily, approaching its peak, and then rapidly surging upward.
