This is also why Luo Zhenxue is known as the End of the Sequence, the favored child of heaven. She is the Deep Crimson Key, a color of deep red that allows her to connect with high-level Entities and borrow their power to combat other Entities.
Indeed! Whether it’s white or the Red Sequence Key, there is one fundamental truth: not all Entities can establish a connection with a Sequence Key. Different depths of red in Sequence Keys can connect with different types of Entities.
Moreover, only the Deep Crimson Sequence Key like Luo Zhenxue's can connect with Entities of Rules and Gods. It’s a choice between the two. I remember that Zhenxue's Sequence Key can connect with Rule Entities but cannot connect with God Entities. Furthermore, it is said that the Deep Crimson Key allows for a choice between connecting with Rules or Gods, yet so far, no Crimson Key has been able to establish a connection with a God Entity.
Yelai’s gaze was intense. Even Zhenxue's highest-level Sequence Key cannot achieve this, yet his own Black Key can. He could imagine that once others learned about his Black Key, it would be more coveted than his girlfriend Luo Zhenxue.
He understood the principle of "holding a gem brings trouble." He was currently weak, and if powerful Sequences discovered that he could connect with God Entities, they would surely find ways to study him. After all, his Sequence Key had transformed from white to black, rather than being black from the start. Others could easily use him as a subject for research in hopes of changing their own Sequence Keys to black as well.
Yelai didn't want to think about those things for now. His current priority was only one thing: who was responsible for his death.
Yelai's pitch-black pupils glinted with a cold light. He was indeed the "Broken Key," but that didn't mean he was useless or foolish. As he recalled the circumstances leading up to his death, he had reason to suspect that he had been murdered rather than simply killed by the Entity.
It was important to note that Luo Zhenxue had placed him in the safest position within the Safe Zone to protect him. Yet, despite the Entity invading the Safe Zone, it seemed to target only his residence rather than other areas. It all felt suspicious.
Someone had deliberately allowed the Entity in and guided it to kill him. Was it because of Zhenxue? Yelai began to piece together the reasons.
As a "Broken Key," he had no real value that would warrant such elaborate efforts to guide the Entity into the Safe Zone and direct it to kill him. The only person of value in this scenario could only be his girlfriend, Luo Zhenxue.
Was Zhenxue pursuing someone else? If he were dead, she might have a chance to pursue Zhenxue. Or perhaps those who sought to win over Zhenxue from other Safe Zone residents believed that if he were killed, she would no longer care about him and could move on to other Safe Zones.
Regardless of the reason, Yelai knew he couldn't let anyone discover his identity as the Black Key. If they found out, they would surely eliminate him without hesitation. After all, with the power of the Black Key, his rise would be unstoppable, and there was no way he would let his enemies go free.
This was the End of the Sequence era; human life no longer held the same value as in the Peace Era. In this age, laws could only restrain ordinary people but could not bind powerful Sequences. Because powerful Sequences were the ones who made the laws.
