"Master, I know I was wrong. Please don't send me down the mountain... Wuwu..." 0

Wenxin looked up with tear-filled eyes, staring intently at Zhen Ren Yan Qing's green robe, her gaze full of pleading. 0

Zhen Ren Yan Qing, however, remained unmoved. He merely snorted and waved his sleeve as he turned away, clearly still angry and not yet calmed. 0

It was a disgrace that the most outstanding disciple of the Tianshan Sect had been abducted by a Fox Demon while traveling down the mountain. If word got out, everyone in the Five Realms would surely point fingers at the Tianshan Sect, mocking its lax discipline and making it a laughingstock. 0

Zhen Ren Yan Qing was already quite furious. After finally discovering the whereabouts of Zi Shao and that Fox Demon, he intended to send someone to retrieve Zi Shao from Tianshan. Unexpectedly, Wenxin had secretly gone to warn him. 0

Now, Zhen Ren Yan Qing was completely enraged and declared on the spot that he would expel Wenxin from Tianshan, and the charges against her were severe: colluding with an Evil Spirit and causing chaos in the sect. 0

Seeing Zhenren Lin Xiu's expressionless face, unmoved by her tears, Wenxin cried even harder, as if she might faint from her sobs at any moment. 0

Wenxin had grown up under Zhenren Lin Xiu's watchful eye. Seeing her so heartbroken made Zhenren Lin Xiu feel a pang of sympathy. After some contemplation, he said, "Your master is quite angry right now. How about this? You go seek refuge with Zi Shao for now. Once your master has calmed down, you two can return together to apologize." 0

Wenxin sniffled and thought to herself that this wasn't a bad temporary solution. 0

After all, her master's stubbornness was like that of a mule; no amount of persuasion could change his mind. Otherwise, she wouldn't have had to warn Zi Shao. She genuinely worried that her master might act impulsively against that Fox Demon sister-in-law. How could Zi Shao handle that? He would probably break down immediately! 0

When leaving Tianshan, Zhen Ren Yan Qing confiscated Wenxin's sword. With no choice but to abandon her plans for flying on a sword, Wenxin sadly swung her slender legs as she walked down the stone steps outside the Ninth Heavy Gate, glancing back three times. 0

At first, she wore a sorrowful expression, but once she entered the town and wandered into the marketplace, her mood lightened considerably. 0

After visiting several towns in succession, Wenxin felt as if she were floating on air, almost forgetting her embarrassing situation of being "expelled" from the sect. 0

"I'm so hungry..." After wandering around for a while, Wenxin gloomily patted her already empty purse. Just as she passed by the city wall, she spotted a notice for capturing demons—an Imperial Edict—and her eyes lit up with excitement. She quickly tore it down and thought to herself with delight: "Aha! Now I have a way!" 0

"Master, you finally appeared!" Yard Officer A exclaimed, his eyes glistening with tears, nearly on the verge of crying. 0

In recent months, several children aged four or five had been abducted by monsters, leaving everyone deeply troubled. 0

"Little girl, do you really know how to catch monsters?" Yard Officer B asked skeptically, clearly not trusting Wenxin. He scrutinized her from head to toe, his gaze filled with doubt. 0

"Have you heard of the Tianshan Sect? I am from the Tianshan Sect!" Wenxin puffed out her chest proudly. 0

Upon hearing this, the officers erupted in cheers. Who hadn't heard of the Tianshan Sect? It was one of the renowned origins of monster hunters, famous far and wide. 0

Thus, Wenxin led the group of officers boldly toward the legendary lair of the monsters. 0

The cave was pitch black, so dark that one couldn't see their own hand in front of their face. With no other choice, Wenxin summoned her spiritual energy, using her fingertips to ignite a faint light that barely illuminated her surroundings. 0

With the flickering glow, Wenxin carefully surveyed the cave. Just as she was about to say there was nothing in the cave, she caught a glimpse of light flickering from deep within. 0

Her curiosity piqued, she hurriedly followed it, winding through the cave several times until she finally found the source of the light. 0

There stood a young man in white robes, holding a lantern and facing a wall as if searching for something. 0

"Hey! I said there are monsters here. If you don't have anything important to do, hurry up and leave. Don't interfere with my spellcasting," Wenxin called out kindly as she approached him. Just as her hand touched his shoulder, he suddenly turned around. 0

To her surprise, he had a furry face! 0

Wenxin was truly startled, and she immediately screamed, "Ah, a monster! Help!" 0

Well, she had to admit that this was her first time encountering a fairy so closely, and it was inevitable that she felt panicked. 0

"Shh!" 0

The man quickly wrapped his arms around Wenxin's waist while covering her mouth with one hand, lowering his voice as he said, "Aren't you the one who catches monsters? Why are you afraid of my Fox Demon form?" 0

Wenxin was so nervous that she felt completely lost, unsure of what to do. Her eyes darted around in a panic, not daring to look directly at the man's fox-like face. Although he had transformed into a human form, he still retained a fox's features—fluffy ears and a pointed mouth—that made Wenxin's heart race with fear. Her gaze flitted about until it finally landed on the lantern. 0

Wait a minute, he was covering her mouth with one hand and holding the lantern with the other. Then… what was it that was wrapped around her waist, preventing her from backing away? 0

Wenxin trembled as she slowly lowered her head, only to see a fluffy fox tail coiled around her slender waist! 0

"You..." Wenxin felt both angry and scared but couldn't raise her voice; she could only silently express her grievances. 0

"Shh, don't speak. We mustn't disturb them," the fox whispered, keeping a vigilant lookout around them. 0

Them... 0

Could it be that there was more than one fox in this cave? 0
