Qiu Chengcai drove skillfully, quickly turning onto the Provincial Road leading to the county after exiting the Gaoqiao Town area. Mao Na remained silent.
After more than twenty minutes, they reached Huancheng Road in Annan County City. A police car with flashing red and blue lights was parked near the South Ring Roundabout Traffic Booth, where four or five traffic police officers were holding red and blue batons to check passing vehicles.
Qiu Chengcai quickly turned the steering wheel towards the side road and slammed on the brakes.
Hu Ruoyun turned to him and asked, “Brother Qiu, what’s wrong?”
Qiu Chengcai looked embarrassed. “I… I… don’t have a driver’s license!”
“Why don’t we take a detour and enter the city from another intersection?” Zhang Meina suggested.
Qiu Chengcai lost his earlier bravado and awkwardly flushed as he replied, “Let’s try going around from the west.” He started the engine and turned around.
But the more flustered he became, the worse things got. A bicycle approached from behind just as he was turning; in his haste, he forgot to signal. The cyclist didn’t expect the parked car to suddenly move and couldn’t brake in time. The front wheel crashed heavily into the left front door of Qiu Chengcai's car, sending the rider tumbling to the ground.
The incident happened so suddenly that none of the four people in the car reacted in time.
Furious, Qiu Chengcai flung open his door and grabbed the middle-aged man who had just gotten up from the ground, slapping him across the face. “Are you blind?”
He then glanced at the dent on his car door with dismay. “You’re paying for this! 500 yuan—no less!”

Now things escalated quickly as they began to fight. Hu Ruoyun rushed over to intervene, but neither of them paid him any mind.
Soon, a crowd gathered to watch, and someone went to report to the nearby police booth.
The police car arrived with sirens blaring. Four officers jumped out and shouted at both men to separate them.
Since there had been physical conflict, it was no longer just a traffic accident.
The traffic police first verified their identities. The middle-aged man looked defiant. “My surname is Niu; my full name is Niu Jun, Chahhe Village Chief! You little brat better watch yourself; I’ll deal with you later!”
Chahhe was an "urban village" within Annan County City. Due to its geographical advantages, many factories like paper mills, cotton spinning mills, and diesel engine plants were built on its land. Qiu Chengcai retorted indignantly, “My dad is Qiu Mingren!”
The traffic police officer leading the team couldn't immediately recall who Qiu Mingren was and coldly stated, "I don't care if your father is a 'celebrity.' You're driving without a license, the vehicle will be impounded, and both parties were involved in a brawl. Wait for the station to handle it." He then used his radio to call for a tow truck and contacted the Town Police Station.

The leading traffic officer approached Xiao Xu to explain the situation and exchange opinions. After a moment, at Xiao Xu's signal, another officer came over to escort Qiu Chengcai and Niu Jun into the police car for the station. After about seven or eight minutes, both vehicles arrived at the Town Police Station compound. One officer guided Hu Ruoyun and his three companions to another room to take their statements, while Niu Jun and Qiu Chengcai were taken to an interrogation room.
Before long, they heard Qiu Chengcai's voice shouting from another room, "My dad is Qiu Mingren! Just try to detain me!" Then there was a loud slam of a door, followed by Xiao Xu storming in angrily: "So what if your dad is Qiu Mingren? I know who he is, but I'm still going to detain you!"

Just then, a frantic woman's voice echoed from outside: "Who’s in charge here? Come out! How dare you detain my son? You’ll regret this!"
Then they heard Qiu Chengcai's voice from another room: "Mom! I'm here! They won't let me out and say they're going to detain me for three days!"
Xiao Xu turned to go outside, with Hu Ruoyun following closely behind.
They saw a nearly 200-pound woman in her late forties wearing a blue dress with red flowers standing in the yard. Seeing no one paying attention to her, she rushed to the detention room door and kicked it: "Let out a living one! Hurry up and release my son!"
Mao Na whispered behind Hu Ruoyun, "That's Qiu Chengcai's mother, He Ailian!"
He Ailian heard the commotion and turned to see Xiao Xu along with Hu Ruoyun and Mao Na. She pointed at Xiao Xu angrily: "You! Let my son out! Or I'll skin you alive!"
Without waiting for Xiao Xu to speak, she glared at Mao Na. "Xiao Na, my Chengcai is locked up, so why are you fine? Aren't you two together?"
Mao Na hesitated, unsure of how to respond. "Auntie..."
The Fat Woman snapped, "Hmph, I never approved of your relationship. I don't know what got into Chengcai, falling for a little vixen like you..."
Mao Na's face flushed a deep red.
Hu Ruoyun supported her, saying, "It's not worth getting worked up over someone like her! This actually gives you a reason to move on!"
Mao Na calmed down and noticed that Jiang Qiuying had finished her statement. She turned to Xiao Xu and asked, "Officer, can we leave now?" Seeing Xiao Xu nod, she turned to pull Zhang Meina and Jiang Qiuying along, signaling Hu Ruoyun. "Let's go!"
Without looking back at the Fat Woman or caring about what she was saying, they headed out the door of the police station.
Just as they stepped outside, they heard a creaking sound as a police car pulled up beside them. Xiao Xu got out from the passenger seat and approached Hu Ruoyun. "Director Qiu is on a business trip. Can you guide me on what to do next?"
Without hesitation, Hu Ruoyun replied, "Leak the information; the bigger the impact, the better! Call Wang Zhiguo and have him contact the County Discipline Inspection and Supervision to get involved!"
Xiao Xu nodded and decided not to get back in the car. He waved at the driver. "Jialiang, see where they're headed and take them there!" He then strode back into the police station.
The police car driver got out and opened the door for them. "Get in; I'll give you a ride."
