Li Xue returned to the school dormitory and found that Wang Xiaomin was not there. She had just set down her suitcase when Lao Liu called out to her.
"Miss Li, here is a gift for you," Lao Liu said, looking at her.
"What gift?" Li Xue asked, puzzled.
Lao Liu opened the car door and pulled out a box from inside.
Li Xue stared at the box, feeling a bit confused. "What is this?"
Lao Liu smiled. "It's a gift from the young master."
Li Xue was taken aback. "Gu Jingchen?"
Lao Liu nodded. "Yes."
Curious, Li Xue looked at the box again. "What's inside?"
Lao Liu chuckled. "You'll find out if you open it."
Li Xue took the box, noticing it was quite heavy. She carried it back to her dormitory.
The dormitory was very quiet; no one was around. Wang Xiaomin was still absent.
Li Xue set the box aside and, without taking a shower, climbed into bed to sleep.

When Li Xue woke up, it was already eight o'clock the next morning. She got out of bed, freshened up, and then walked out of her bedroom.
In the living room, Wang Xiaomin was having breakfast.
Seeing her come out, Wang Xiaomin looked at her and said, "You're awake."
Li Xue nodded. "Yeah."
Wang Xiaomin continued, "I bought breakfast; you should eat something."
Li Xue smiled. "Thank you."
She walked over to the dining table and picked up a piece of bread to eat.
Wang Xiaomin watched her and asked, "What time did you come back yesterday?"
Li Xue replied, "I got back around noon."
Wang Xiaomin looked at her and asked, "Where did you go yesterday?"
Li Xue replied, "I went to the hospital to visit a friend."

Li Xue then said, "Thank you for the breakfast."
Wang Xiaomin smiled, "You're welcome."
Li Xue inquired, "Are you going out today?"
Wang Xiaomin responded, "I have an interview today."
Li Xue wished her, "Good luck."
Wang Xiaomin smiled again, "Thank you."
After finishing her meal, Li Xue headed to work.
As soon as she arrived at the office, her brother Li Jin called.
On the phone, Li Jin sounded very angry. He said that Li Ling had argued with him again last night.
Li Xue listened and frowned. She hadn't expected Li Ling to fight with her brother.
She tried to comfort him for a moment before asking, "Do you want to go on a trip?"
Li Jin was taken aback. "A trip?"
Li Xue nodded, "Yeah, a trip."
Li Jin hesitated, "But I haven't had a vacation yet."

Li Xue smiled and asked, "Where do you want to go?"
Li Jin laughed, "I'll ask my brother-in-law."

After hanging up the phone, Li Xue received a message on her phone. It was from Gu Jingchen. He asked her if she liked the gift.
Li Xue paused for a moment, suddenly remembering the box. She glanced at her phone and typed, "I haven't looked yet."
Gu Jingchen replied, "Open it and take a look."
Li Xue stood up and walked over to the box. As she opened it and took a quick glance inside, she was completely stunned. The box was filled with lipsticks.

She picked up one of the lipsticks and examined it; it was genuine. But… why send so many lipsticks?
Li Xue typed on her phone, "Why did you send me so many lipsticks?"
Gu Jingchen responded, "Because I want to make it up to you."
Li Xue was speechless.
Gu Jingchen continued, "Also, you’re too plain; you need a more refined life."
Li Xue stared at the lipsticks in the box, feeling somewhat speechless. Although she appreciated Gu Jingchen's gesture, would she ever use that many lipsticks?

Gu Jingchen nodded again, "Yes."
Li Xue looked at him in confusion, "Which 'our' home?"
Gu Jingchen smiled, "Our home."
Li Xue looked at him, "You mean..."
Gu Jingchen nodded, "I plan to have the villa tidied up tomorrow, and then you can move in."
Li Xue stared at him, "I can move in?"
Gu Jingchen nodded again, "Yes."
Li Xue asked, "What about you?"
Gu Jingchen looked at her, "Of course, I will move in too."
Li Xue was taken aback, "You will move in as well?"
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Yes."
Li Xue questioned, "Why?"
Gu Jingchen chuckled, "Because we are husband and wife."
Li Xue fell silent.

Gu Jingchen drove her to his apartment.
He said, "It's safe here for now."
Li Xue looked at him, "Why are you being so cautious?"
Gu Jingchen replied, "I can't take any risks."
Li Xue paused, "You mean..."
Gu Jingchen nodded again, "Yes."
Li Xue gazed at him, "You..."
Gu Jingchen said, "Just stay here for now. Tomorrow I'll have the villa ready for you to move in."
Li Xue nodded, "Okay."
Gu Jingchen looked at her, "You should go inside now."
Li Xue asked, "What about you?"

Li Xue entered the apartment.
The apartment was clean and well-equipped. She sat down on the sofa and turned on the television, watching for a while. At six o'clock, she got up to prepare dinner. She opened the refrigerator, which was stocked with all kinds of ingredients.
Li Xue casually cooked a couple of dishes, then set the table and began to eat. As she ate, she suddenly felt very hot. She picked up the remote control and turned on the air conditioning, but it was still warm.
Reluctantly, Li Xue got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. After finishing her shower, she still felt hot. She had no choice but to go back into the bathroom. This cycle repeated several times, yet she continued to feel overheated.
Sitting on the sofa, Li Xue kept drinking water. No matter how much she drank, she remained hot. She looked down at her robe, now reduced to just a tank top. Biting her lip, she felt increasingly restless.
Gu Jingchen finished his work and it was already past midnight when he returned to the apartment and turned on the lights. The living room was empty; there was no one around.
He walked to the bedroom and switched on the light there as well, but it too was vacant. He frowned slightly. Where could she have gone at this hour?
Gu Jingchen took out his phone, intending to call her. Just then, he heard some noises coming from the bathroom.
Gu Jingchen walked straight to the bathroom door. He knocked lightly, "Li Xue?"
A voice came from inside, "It's me."
Gu Jingchen opened the door and stepped in. Li Xue was sitting on the toilet, disheveled, her cheeks flushed.
Gu Jingchen was taken aback. "What's wrong with you?"
Li Xue looked up at him, "I... I'm so hot..."
Gu Jingchen paused, "You're hot?"
She nodded, "Yeah."
He moved closer to her and reached out to touch her forehead. It was burning.
Gu Jingchen stared at her, "Do you have a fever?"
Li Xue shook her head, "I... I don't know..." She looked at him, "I really feel so hot..."
Gu Jingchen asked, "Have you taken any medicine?"
She shook her head again, "I... I haven't..."
Gu Jingchen frowned, "Then let me take you to the hospital."
Li Xue looked at him with reluctance, "I... I don't want to move..."
He softened his gaze, "Then should I carry you?"
Li Xue met his eyes and nodded, "Okay..."
Gu Jingchen lifted her into his arms. Li Xue leaned against him, breathing heavily. Her warm breath brushed against his neck, making him feel warm as well.
Gu Jingchen swallowed hard, "Just hang in there."
Li Xue closed her eyes and remained silent.
He carried her out of the apartment and down the stairs. He opened the car door and gently placed her in the passenger seat before getting in himself and fastening his seatbelt.
He looked at her, "Just hang in there, I'll take you to the hospital right away."
Li Xue kept her eyes closed, ignoring him.
Gu Jingchen started the car and drove towards the hospital.

At the hospital.
The doctor examined Li Xue and then looked at Gu Jingchen, "She’s fine; she just took an overdose of sleeping pills."
Gu Jingchen was taken aback, "Sleeping pills?"
The doctor nodded, "Yes."
Gu Jingchen was confused, "How could she take sleeping pills?"
The doctor looked at him, "I wouldn't know."
Gu Jingchen asked, "So how is she now?"
The doctor replied, "I've already performed a gastric lavage. She'll be fine once the effects wear off."
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Thank you, doctor."
The doctor said, "You're welcome."
...
Gu Jingchen returned to the ward and looked at Li Xue.
Her cheeks were still very flushed.
He walked to the bedside and reached out to touch her forehead.
It was still very hot.
He sighed, "Why are you so careless?"
Li Xue kept her eyes closed and remained silent.
Gu Jingchen gazed at her, "Do you know how scared you made me?"
Li Xue still did not respond.
