Gu Jingchen insisted on returning home. His wounds had already scabbed over; although he wasn't fully healed, flying was manageable for him now.
Li Xue initially wanted him to wait a few more days, but Gu Jingchen refused. He stated that the longer they waited, the harder it would be to investigate. Reluctantly, Li Xue agreed. She had consulted the doctor, who confirmed that Gu Jingchen was fit to fly.
The next morning, Gu Jingchen's parents arrived. As soon as they heard about his stabbing, they rushed over. Not only did they come, but they also brought a medical team and a private jet.
Li Xue silently observed everything before her. Gu Jingchen glanced at her and asked, "What's wrong?"
She shook her head, "It's nothing."
Gu Jingchen's mother looked at them and smiled, "Are you worried someone might try to attack you again?"
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Yes."
His mother reassured them, "Don't worry; they won't come back."
Gu Jingchen looked at her, "Mom, how do you know?"
His mother replied, "Your dad and I have already had people look into it. Those attackers are Professional Killer K."
Gu Jingchen narrowed his eyes.
His mother continued, "Rest assured, your dad and I won’t let them get away with this."
Gu Jingchen nodded appreciatively, "Thank you, Mom and Dad."
Gu Jingchen's father then said, "Let's go."
Gu Jingchen agreed and took Li Xue's hand as they boarded the plane. It was Li Xue's first time on a private jet, and she felt a bit nervous.
Gu Jingchen noticed her unease and asked, "What's wrong?"
She shook her head again, "I'm fine."
She looked at the private jet in front of her, a bit surprised. "Is this private jet yours?"
Gu Jingchen nodded. "Yeah."
Li Xue paused, "How do you have a private jet?"
Gu Jingchen looked at her. "Because my parents were worried about me, so they bought me one."
Li Xue's lips twitched. "Your parents really care about you."
Gu Jingchen smiled. "Of course."
He gazed at her. "Are you envious of me?"
Li Xue shook her head. "I'm not envious of you."
Gu Jingchen was taken aback. "You're not envious of me?"
Li Xue nodded. "No."
She looked at him. "Because my parents love me too, so I don't need to be envious of you."
Gu Jingchen chuckled. "That's true."
He took her hand and led her onto the plane.

Inside the plane, everything was available.
Li Xue and Gu Jingchen sat in a small lounge area.
Since Gu Jingchen was injured, he could only lean against the bed.
Li Xue sat by the edge of the bed.
Gu Jingchen looked at her. "Are you tired?"
Li Xue shook her head. "I'm not tired."
Gu Jingchen continued to gaze at her. "If you're tired, you can lie down and rest for a while."
Li Xue looked at him. "What about you?"
Gu Jingchen smiled lightly. "I've already slept for a long time."
Li Xue nodded. "Alright then."
She lay down.
Gu Jingchen watched her. "You can sleep now."
Li Xue looked at him. "What about you?"
Gu Jingchen smiled again. "I'm not sleepy yet."
Li Xue looked at him and said, "Alright then." She closed her eyes and fell asleep. Gu Jingchen watched her, a faint smile curling at the corners of his mouth. He too closed his eyes, but he just couldn't fall asleep.
He opened his eyes and gazed at Li Xue. She was sleeping soundly, curled up like a little kitten. Gu Jingchen's heart softened at the sight. Unable to resist, he reached out and gently stroked her cheek.
Li Xue's face was clean, free of any makeup, yet her skin was flawless—fair and delicate, like a freshly peeled egg. As he looked at her, his heart raced uncontrollably. He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on her lips. His heartbeat quickened even more.
After two hours, Li Xue woke up. She looked at Gu Jingchen and asked, "You haven't slept at all?"
Gu Jingchen replied, "I couldn't sleep."
"Why can't you sleep?" she inquired.
He chuckled softly, "Maybe it's because you're here."
Li Xue's face flushed red. "You... what nonsense are you talking about!"
Gu Jingchen met her gaze. "I'm not joking." He continued to look at her, "Because you're by my side, I can't sleep."
Her cheeks turned even redder. "You... stop saying that."
Gu Jingchen smiled at her. "Alright, I won't tease you anymore."
He looked at her, "Do you want some water?"
Li Xue nodded, "Yes, I do."
Gu Jingchen stood up and poured a glass of water for her.
Li Xue took a sip and looked at Gu Jingchen, "You should drink some too."
Gu Jingchen smiled, "Alright."
He picked up the cup and took a sip.
Li Xue watched him, "How is it?"
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Pretty good."

A few hours later, the plane arrived in the capital.
Gu Jingchen was picked up by his family.
Li Xue had planned to leave as well, but Gu Jingchen asked her to go back first.
Li Xue was puzzled, "Why?"
Gu Jingchen looked at her, "I want you to go back first."
Li Xue stared at him, "Why?"
Gu Jingchen smiled again, "Because I have some things to take care of."
Li Xue looked at him, "What do you need to take care of?"
Gu Jingchen met her gaze, "Just don't ask."
Li Xue nodded reluctantly, "Alright then."
Gu Jingchen continued to look at her, "I'll have Lao Liu take you back."
Li Xue replied, "No need, I can take a taxi myself."
Gu Jingchen insisted, "I want Lao Liu to take you back."
Li Xue questioned him again, "Why?"
Gu Jingchen said firmly, "I'm worried something might happen to you."
Li Xue paused for a moment, "I won't get into any trouble."
Gu Jingchen maintained his stance, "That doesn't matter."
He looked at her seriously, "You must let Lao Liu take you back."
Li Xue couldn't argue with him anymore and had to agree.
Gu Jingchen looked at her and said, "You should go back."
Li Xue nodded, "You take care of yourself too."
Gu Jingchen smiled, "I know."

After Li Xue returned home, she took a shower and went to bed. The next day, she went to school for her classes. Just after class, she received a call from Lao Liu.
On the phone, Lao Liu said that Gu Jingchen was injured and in the hospital. Li Xue was startled and quickly asked which hospital he was in. Lao Liu provided the address. Li Xue immediately rushed over.

At the hospital, when Li Xue arrived at the ward, Gu Jingchen was reading some documents. She looked at him and asked, "Are you okay?"
Gu Jingchen replied, "I'm fine."
Li Xue walked to the bedside and looked at him closely, "What really happened to you?"
Gu Jingchen assured her, "I really am fine."
Li Xue scrutinized him, "Really?"
Gu Jingchen nodded, "Really."
Li Xue let out a sigh of relief.
Gu Jingchen looked at her and asked, "What brought you here?"
Li Xue answered, "Lao Liu told me."
Gu Jingchen chuckled, "He made it sound like I was on the brink of death."
Li Xue shot him a glare, "Don't say such nonsense."
Gu Jingchen laughed again, "Alright, I won't say anything more."
Li Xue continued to look at him, "Are you really okay?"
Gu Jingchen nodded once more, "I truly am fine."
Li Xue let out a sigh of relief.
Gu Jingchen looked at her and asked, "By the way, why didn't you go to work?"
She replied, "I just got out of school."
He continued, "Don't you have to go to the company today?"
Li Xue shook her head. "No, I don't."
Gu Jingchen then asked, "Do you have time now?"
She nodded. "I have time."
"Then will you stay with me for a while?" he requested.
Li Xue looked at him curiously. "Aren't you busy?"
He smiled lightly. "Even if I'm busy, I need to take a break."
She nodded again. "Alright then."

Gu Jingchen's parents were at home.
Seeing Gu Jingchen return, they hurried over to greet him.
His father looked at him and asked, "How is it?"
Gu Jingchen smiled. "I'm fine."
His father scrutinized him. "Are you really okay?"
Gu Jingchen nodded. "I really am fine."
His father sighed in relief. "That's good."
His mother looked at him anxiously. "What exactly happened?"
Gu Jingchen replied, "It's about Professional Killer K."
His father's eyes narrowed. "Professional Killer K?"
Gu Jingchen nodded again. "Yes."
His father pressed on, "Do you have any leads?"
Gu Jingchen smiled slightly. "I have a few clues."
