"Got it!" the Madwoman shouted as she turned to the group. "Let's unleash all our skills and trap these Mechanical Beasts!"
At that moment, Wu Xiaolong and the Spark Special Forces arrived on the scene. Following Jiao An's orders, they quickly set up a defensive line behind the Mechanical Beasts. The armored vehicles blocked the street, and all team members disembarked, loading their grenade launchers and large-caliber special rifles, unleashing a barrage of firepower at the backs of the Mechanical Beasts.
The sudden explosion of firepower left the Mechanical Beasts, who were preparing to attack Jiao An upstairs, momentarily stunned. Armor plates were blasted off their bodies one after another. However, these Mechanical Beasts seemed to have a clear target in mind regarding who posed the greatest threat; they disregarded the Spark Special Forces' firepower and stubbornly attempted to climb up the building.
Seeing this, five warriors from the Divine Domain Support Team stepped forward. Their ability from Earth was to manipulate metal objects, and these Mechanical Beasts were made entirely of metal. They synchronized their gestures as if rubbing a large ball between their hands. Instantly, one or two of the Mechanical Beasts that had clawed into the building's walls were pulled down by an invisible force and crashed heavily to the ground.
"Hey, you Spirit Corps!" the Madwoman called out to the nearby Divine Domain Vanguard. "Don't you have a few who can control flames? How about creating four walls of fire for these ugly creatures?"
"Leave it to us!"
Four members of the Spirit Corps stepped forward within the Vanguard. Under their control, walls of fire rose in all four directions—north, south, east, and west. These flames not only separated the Spark Special Forces and Divine Realm teams from the Mechanical Beasts but also successfully trapped them inside—just like beasts on Earth, they feared fire.
In an instant, all the Mechanical Beasts seemed to realize they had fallen into a trap set by the alliance. Yet faced with towering flames that were three feet higher than their own bodies, they could only huddle together in the center, allowing the Spark Special Forces' firepower to rain down upon them while they roared in defiance.
"Sister Jiao An, we've got them trapped!" Lu Sha looked up, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. "It's all yours!"
"Everyone step back; I don't want to hurt you," Jiao An replied.
On Matthias's left side, an electronic screen folded out from the sniper rifle for the first time as Nightmare activated it. She launched a signal flare that landed at the feet of the Mechanical Beasts. The electronic screen immediately displayed a grid layout of the block based on satellite positioning. Nightmare traced a line on the screen to define an area before pressing the red confirmation button in the lower right corner.
"Satellite grid strike, activate!"
The Matthias sniper rifle was connected to the armed satellite signal from Moth in space. Every time Nightmare called for a satellite strike, it was executed through Matthias. A white light flashed across the blue sky as a grid-like scanning image appeared on the ground where the Mechanical Beasts stood. As this white light swept over them, thunder erupted suddenly—a Satellite Beam descended from above, sweeping through Nightmare's designated area. The Mechanical Beasts were instantly engulfed in a blinding beam of light that made them appear as if they were turning to ash under intense sunlight!
In just a few seconds' time, where the beam struck was reduced to rubble; a massive pit formed in the ground as if prepared for mass graves for these Mechanical Beasts. The ones that had been baring their teeth at humans and Spirit Corps alike were now nowhere to be found; their bones lay charred at the bottom of that blackened pit with occasional sparks still flickering.
"Damn!" Lu Sha unlocked her mask-like battle armor in disbelief and looked up. "You did it again, sis! This move is truly unbeatable!"
"It's not me who's powerful; I'm just operating it," Jiao An stood up on top of the building. "Don't expose yourselves; move into the streets now! There are enemies everywhere in the sky; we could be exposed at any moment..."
Before Jiao An could finish her sentence, several laser beams descended from above. She quickly ducked behind a water tank and saw a Flying Army attempting to turn around for a counterattack; without hesitation, she raised her weapon and shot it down.
"Sister Jiao An?" Lu Sha asked anxiously upon seeing another Flying Army pass overhead.
"I'm fine," Jiao An replied while peeking out from behind the water tank to check for pursuers in the sky before continuing, "You're ground troops now; I've taken care of their heavy armored units. Your mission will be much easier."
"Ha! That's true." As laser beams flew towards Lu Sha and Aibo from behind, more Internal Troops arrived on scene.
"Find cover!" Wu Xiaolong shouted to his Spark Special Forces team.
The Spirit Corps revealed their claws and growled as they prepared to charge into battle; warriors from Divine Domain Support Team drew their weapons and formed a line; Aibo and Xu Yicheng took point—Aibo faced incoming laser bullets with his massive iron body and smashed down with a punch while Xu Yicheng flew above, sweeping down with gravity beams from his hands—
"Okay, teammates!" The Madwoman's battle armor reassembled with Lu Sha's. "Let's join in on this fight!"
"Kill—" The Divine Domain Vanguard and the Support Team charged forward, and just as Madwoman was about to join them, Jiao An's voice came through the squad channel, "Lu Sha, don't move!"
"Huh?!" Madwoman was confused but stopped in her tracks, watching as the warriors from the Spirit Corps and Support Team rushed ahead of her to engage the Internal Troops. A new coordinate appeared on her squad information monitor, moving rapidly.
"You need to support Qin Weishan," Nightmare Jiao An instructed. "The enemy has taken the Life Crystals off the battleship and plans to use them to crystallize Earth globally. Their device is on top of the tallest building in City M, the Technology Research and Development Company funded by the Song Family. You've been there before; Qin Weishan is already on his way. Trust me, act quickly."
"Fine." Madwoman rolled her eyes, reassuring herself, "Maybe killing over there will be more fun."
With that, she turned around and ran in the opposite direction of the advancing main force. Nightmare cleared a path for her from above, watching as she dashed around the corner and onto another main road. Minutes later, Wen Yue City arrived at the rooftop with a medical kit, ready to treat Jiao An.
"I have a question for you," Jiao An said as she watched Wen Yue City prepare a potion for her.
"What is it?"
"What does it feel like to watch your kin wreak havoc on our planet?"
Wen Yue City fell silent for a long moment before replying, "From my kin's perspective, they see it as glorious. But from a moral standpoint among cosmic civilizations, I feel ashamed of them."
Jiao An took the ointment Wen Yue City handed her and applied it to her wounds on her back and abdomen. "Thank you."
"There's no need for thanks," Wen Yue City said, fiddling with the supplies in her medical kit. "I'm just a traitor in my kin's eyes."
"But you're a good person," Jiao An affirmed.
Wen Yue City looked up and smiled. "Thank you."
A loud explosion echoed overhead, causing both of them to shudder. Jiao An instinctively grasped her gun but looked up to see that it was a human Xuan Nu space fighter being shot down by the Flying Army, plummeting toward the city.
While human fighters were indeed powerful, they were no match for the agility and sheer numbers of the Flying Army. The number of Xuan Nu fighters was dwindling, but fortunately, human squadrons had reached the central battlefield, bringing weather weapons along with them. A storm targeting the Longxing Mercenary Corps was about to unleash.
However, human soldiers could not have anticipated that what awaited them was not just a storm but also targeted gas bombs from Judgment Day. Jiao An noticed a shell falling from above amidst the shadow of a massive ship in the sky; it exploded in the central battlefield. Although it was far away, both Jiao An and Wen Yue City could smell a pungent odor that resembled a mix of sautéed onions and mustard.
"What is that?" Jiao An felt an immediate sense of unease and asked Wen Yue City.
"Targeted gas bomb!" Wen Yue City quickly grabbed Jiao An's hand, trying to pull her up. "We need to get inside; we can't stay on the rooftop any longer."
"Don't they fear hitting their own people?!" Jiao An said as she slung her two guns behind her back and followed Wen Yue City toward the stairwell.
"No, this is the result of their years of stealing human life information," Wen Yue City explained as they moved. "Their scientists have identified differences between Vamulel people and Kumler people; this targeted gas bomb is designed to inflict fatal harm only on your kind while having no effect on us!"
"What?!"
Wen Yue City's revelation echoed through the squad channel, leaving everyone feeling heavy-hearted.
"Is there any way to stop it from spreading?" Fierce Eagle asked.
"This gas is no different from regular gas diffusion," said Blue Face Hero. "If there is a strong airflow to control it, we can stop its spread. Moreover, in about half an hour, the military's weather weapon will activate, and the ensuing heavy rain will help weaken the toxicity of the gas."
"Let me go!"
A golden arc of light appeared in the air, heading straight for the center of the gas explosion. Light Shuttle took on this daunting task: "My high-speed movement can create a wind wall, confining the toxic gas released by the shell within the airflow I define. Besides, I'm not human; it can't harm me! I'll control the gas while you focus on fighting!"
"Sure thing, Fei'er. Stay safe," Fierce Eagle said as he closed the squad's communication and, alongside Blue Face Hero, shot toward City M's tallest building—the Song Family's Technology Research and Development Company. They had already been racing back to the central battlefield for a full two hours.
At the highest helicopter landing pad of the Song Family Technology Research and Development Company:
"Bring up the Life Crystals," Tansen Shar commanded. His attendants placed the Life Crystals onto a machine with tentacle-like appendages. The tentacles grasped the Life Crystals, and a dark opening below began to burn with green flames. The Life Crystals reacted as if stimulated, releasing a wave of energy; however, unlike Chaos Crystals, they lacked offensive capabilities and could only allow internal Humans to extract energy from within themselves.
"Once we store up to 90%, we can release it. This planet isn't large; global crystallization doesn't require a full charge," Ocpie instructed his subordinates.
"Understood."
"And keep an eye on this thing," Jiauli said as Tansen Shar turned to see a Blackhawk flying toward him. "These people on this planet are really troublesome... I need to clean things up."
