Chapter 117: The Exchange Item of Manu
The agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were dispatched urgently.
Nick was still very concerned about the Cosmic Cube, but he neither recalled Steve nor sent Iron Man. On the contrary, after a "discussion" with Vikas, he personally took action and headed to Berlin with a group of Reincarnators, not even calling for Bai Luo.
The director of S.H.I.E.L.D. clearly saw through the plans of these individuals. The Reincarnators wanted to use superheroes for their adventures, while he planned to use these seemingly friendly Reincarnators as a shield.
Moreover, it was also an opportunity to observe whether the rivalries and formidable powers of these individuals were genuine.
As for Bai Luo… he experienced the uniqueness of this world—though far away at S.H.I.E.L.D., he could see live broadcasts from the Berlin Incident. Although Nick did not bring him along, he did not forget about Bai Luo, his "own person." He utilized the onboard recording equipment of the aircraft to transmit both internal and external situations back simultaneously. Even though Bai Luo was at S.H.I.E.L.D., he could clearly understand what was happening.
Of course, Nick Fury's actions had another layer of meaning. As a superhero stationed "at home," if anything unusual occurred in front of him, Bai Luo could lead S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to provide support immediately.
But Nick was clearly overthinking.
This "Buddha Light" team of Reincarnators was exceptionally cautious; even before Nick and the others flew into downtown Berlin, Bai Luo anticipated that Loki's appearance would certainly be unusual, and the Reincarnators could certainly deduce that as well.
However, to be honest, seeing non-nationals among the Reincarnators gave Bai Luo a strange feeling.
Of course, it was unrealistic for the Main God to select his playthings based on nationality or race; it was undoubtedly impractical for all Reincarnators to be Chinese.
Bai Luo squinted as she observed the unfolding situation. Among the Reincarnators, the one who looked like a high school student, Manu, played a significant role in this matter. She pulled out a large metallic cube, about half her height, from her wrist space. Once placed on the ground, it transformed like a Transformer, emitting a series of clanking metal sounds as it morphed into a robot standing at eye level.
Then, the Thai girl named Manu retrieved a bunch of assorted weapons from her wrist space, loading them onto the robot one after another.
Nick, standing nearby, witnessed the entire scene. Unfortunately, he was facing away from the hidden camera inside the aircraft, so Bai Luo couldn't see his expression.
However, Bai Luo could tell that Manu was clearly a mechanical Reincarnator. From what she knew, the wrist space of a Reincarnator wasn't large; expanding it required quite a few reward points. Just this robot and those weapons would take up considerable space. For a Reincarnator, every inch of their portable wrist space was precious. If this girl had fitted so many mechanical creations into hers without being a mechanical Reincarnator herself, she must have been idly wasting resources.
Since the "Buddhist Light" team had brought this out, it was evident they didn't intend to engage directly.
This device was clearly meant for reconnaissance. As the hatch of the S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft opened with a sound, Bai Luo heard a series of accelerating explosions as the robot that had just been inside appeared on the external screen of the aircraft.
It had multiple concealed thrusters and was swiftly flying toward Loki's location.
Inside the aircraft, Vikas's calm voice broke the silence: "This is our reconnaissance combat robot. It possesses independent AI and judgment capabilities. Its external armor and combat abilities are on par with Iron Man's, and it operates without direct human control, significantly reducing danger—let it go ahead and scout the situation. If it's a trap, we'll know in advance."
Nick had no objections; since he didn't need to exert himself and Loki didn't seem to have any intention of escaping for now, he saw no reason to intervene.
Moreover, Nick was clearly curious about this machine and wanted to see what it could do.
In just those few moments of conversation, the robot appeared on the television screen, indicating that it had reached the scene in Berlin. Its speed alone was impressive.
At that moment, Loki was in a public place promoting his ideology that "human nature is servitude." He had conjured five or six duplicates of himself standing in various corners, encircling the humans present. Holding his scepter embedded with the Mind Stone and dressed in gold and green attire with two massive golden horns atop his head, he looked quite imposing.
Of course, he noticed the robot descending from the sky at the first moment.
The robot was no joke, or rather, the Reincarnator was no joke. In mid-air, it fired a barrage of tracking missiles that whistled down towards Loki on the ground with precision.
Loki, however, was not one to be trifled with. He remained calm on the ground, raising his staff with a flick of his wrist. The tracking missiles were instantly detonated in mid-air, flames bursting forth like a magnificent firework display. The deafening explosion shook even the cameras filming from a distance, causing them to wobble, while those trapped within Loki's magical barrier panicked in confusion.
A cold smile curled at the corners of Loki's mouth, but it didn't linger for long. Almost immediately, the silhouette of the robot emerged fiercely from the explosion, leaving a dazzling trail of fire in its wake as it crashed down before Loki. With lightning speed, it delivered a powerful punch right to Loki's chest.
Poor Loki… in an instant, he was sent flying, crashing onto the ground not far away. The multiple illusions he had conjured vanished in an instant, giving the trapped people a chance to flee amidst the chaos.
Despite this, it did nothing to dampen the excitement of the media reporter’s voiceover: "I am Elena Landon from Planet Daily Reporter. As you can see, an Iron Man has descended and just delivered a brutal blow to that golden-clad Green Cucumber!"
Bai Luo listened to this voiceover and recognized that familiar tone, silently astonished off-camera.
