Chapter 41: Who Dares to Touch My Fiancée?
However, their situation was dire. Strucker had deployed a large number of personnel, and in the short time they had been there, they had already attracted a significant number of soldiers who were closing in on them from both sides of the corridor.
Lorna raised her hand, a glint of menace flashing in her beautiful eyes.

They fought while retreating and soon found themselves cornered again. The main force in battle was naturally Logan. Wolverine was not only a mutant but also a seasoned veteran forged in blood and fire.
The only other one capable of making an impact was Lorna.
She inherited her father's war genes, and the dark green light in her hands swirled like a spirit, causing the metallic objects in the hands of the approaching soldiers to instantly turn against them, knocking them down one by one.
Yet she was ultimately not as battle-hardened as Logan. Eventually, she was struck by an electric weapon fired from a corner and fell to the ground, eliciting gasps from everyone around.
Logan turned back, feeling anxious. There were many mutants here, but most were children. For instance, Iceman had sufficient power but did not know how to apply it effectively.
Logan was just one man; he could only focus on one side and could not cover everything.
In the flickering lights of the corridor, people were closing in from all directions—front, back, and even from the rooms on either side.
At that moment, a loud crash suddenly echoed from the corridor outside Lorna's side.
The wall on that side was violently breached, and a Daoist figure rushed in like lightning. Before anyone could clearly see his face, he shouted shamelessly, "Who dares to touch my fiancée?"
At this declaration, everyone in the room was momentarily stunned.
Then, amidst the astonished gazes of the crowd, the man raised his hand and flung out a handful of Yellow Paper Talismans. Those talismans moved through the air as if propelled by an unseen force, spreading like a freezing mist along one side of the corridor.
Sean Ashmore exclaimed, "Is he also a mutant? Does he have the same abilities as me?"
No one responded to his question; Logan had already shouted, "Bai Luo?!"
The instant he heard that voice, he realized who had arrived. Although he hadn't spent much time with Bai Luo, the impression that the Eastern youth left on him was profound.
The person who had come was indeed Bai Luo.
It was also Bai Luo who had just sent the helicopter crashing. His intention was to join everyone immediately, but an unexpected incident had occurred in the meantime.

This System's failure penalty seemed singular; however, Bai Luo's previous task—"Assist Mizumura Memeko and Shan Village Sadako in Japan to recover their memories"—was still incomplete (he had only helped Sadako regain her memories). Now another mission had emerged, and it was related to Tony Stark far away.
To be honest, this mission was quite perplexing for Bai Luo.
It was this sudden task that caused Bai Luo to delay for a moment.
However, he wasn't far from his destination; outside the window, he saw Lorna Dane being knocked down.
With Polaris Sister already taken down, how could he just sit there?
Bai Luo immediately exchanged a handful of cold Talisman worth ten points each and threw them out as soon as he entered. While these items weren't particularly powerful on their own, their cumulative effect could still be lethal. At least with this batch of Talismans thrown out, the warriors on this side retreated in droves.
Bai Luo then found himself beside Lorna.
Lorna seemed to still have some awareness left, her long eyelashes fluttering slightly.
Rascal exclaimed in surprise, "Engaged? Lorna... this..."
Logan shouted, "Bai Luo, I helped you plenty back in Kansas City."
Logan's meaning was quite clear—stop wasting time and come help.
Bai Luo smiled and drew "Silver" from his waist. He swiftly tossed a fire talisman worth one hundred points down the corridor in front of him. In an instant, the corridor was engulfed in flames, sealing it off in a fiery inferno.
Bai Luo then turned around and lifted Lorna off the ground—yes, he simply picked her up without caring about anyone else's gaze. With Rascal and Iceman staring in disbelief, he grabbed Lorna by her belt with one hand and hoisted her up onto his shoulder.
Logan was taken aback at the sight of Bai Luo carrying Lorna like that. "Put Lorna down quickly!"
Bai Luo replied with a grin, "My fiancée is here; who can guarantee her safety if I put her down?"
"..."
Logan was feeling utterly overwhelmed at that moment. He stared at the person in front of him and thought for a couple of seconds before saying, "Let's deal with the current situation first; we can talk about the rest later."
Bai Luo seized the opportunity and replied, "I helped you out; remember the favor from Kansas City..."
"That's settled."
Only then did Bai Luo smile. He raised his weapon, "Silver," and opened fire in the dimly lit corridor.
In such low light, the attack from "Silver" was undoubtedly the most eye-catching and dazzling. With Wolverine leading the way, Bai Luo's support was more than enough.
These individuals were merely ordinary human soldiers, and this operation wasn't intended to take lethal action against mutants. Moreover, their sole purpose at that moment was to escape rather than engage in a deadly confrontation with Strucker.
With Bai Luo's assistance, their progress significantly increased. Although the pressure from Strucker's forces was mounting, it remained manageable, and they soon reached the location of the secret passage.
