After packing up my things, I put on the white jade diamond necklace my sister-in-law had given me and stepped out of the room. 0

My sister-in-law was still seated at the head of the table, flanked by two bodyguards. As soon as I emerged, all eyes turned to me. 0

A hint of joy appeared on Zhang Zhe's face. He approached and whispered, "Nuan Nuan..." 0

I ignored him. 0

Zhang Zhe hesitated, his steps faltering. He glanced at my belly, a flicker of regret crossing his face. Zhang Zhe opened his mouth as if to say something. 0

I replied coolly, "Zhang Zhe, I'm only here to deliver the divorce agreement. I don't want to hear anything else." 0

Zhang Zhe grew anxious. "Nuan Nuan, hitting you was my mistake. I shouldn't have laid a hand on you. I'm sorry, okay?" 0

I scoffed, "You weren't wrong; I was. I shouldn't have married you." 0

His expression shifted, and he suddenly said coldly, "I was wrong to hit you, but since you're married to me, shouldn't you prioritize me?" 0

I looked at him and let out a faint hum of disdain. 0

Zhang Zhe was taken aback, momentarily speechless. I turned to leave. 0

In a panic, Zhang Zhe rushed forward to grab me, but the bodyguards immediately blocked him. 0

Behind me came Zhang Zhe's urgent voice: "Nuan Nuan, I really know I was wrong! Give me a chance; let's talk this through, okay?" 0

I didn't look back or slow my pace. 0

Once outside the the Zhang Family's gates and into my own car, my sister-in-law was already there. 0

I embraced her tightly as silent tears streamed down my face. She gently patted my shoulder and said, "It's okay now; don't cry." She stroked my hair and added softly, "Be good." 0

"From now on, we will take care of you." 0
I nodded vigorously. "Okay." 0
My sister-in-law said, "You should go home and rest well. Tomorrow morning, I'll accompany you to the civil affairs bureau." 0
I hugged her tightly. "Sister-in-law, you are so kind." 0
She gently patted my shoulder. 0

The next morning, my sister-in-law indeed accompanied me to the civil affairs bureau to handle the divorce procedures. 0
Zhang Zhe still wanted to resist. 0
But my sister-in-law had come with a lawyer. 0

After the divorce was finalized, my sister-in-law calmly said, "Alright, now let's calculate the dowry that Nuan Nuan brought when she married you. Shouldn't it be returned?" 0
Zhang Zhe's expression changed. 0
My sister-in-law coldly continued, "When Nuan Nuan married you, our the Jiang Family gave her quite a bit of dowry. Now that she is divorcing you, shouldn't you return that dowry?" 0
Zhang Zhe gritted his teeth. "Fine, I will return it!" 0
His face looked very grim. 0

My sister-in-law ignored him and helped me into the car. 0
Once in the car, I still felt as if I were dreaming. 0
"From now on, you can rest assured at home and focus on your pregnancy, bringing the child into this world safely." 0
I touched my belly and nodded firmly. "Mm!" 0

Later, I gave birth to a son who took my surname. He was raised alongside my brother's two children without any distinction. Under my sister-in-law's guidance, all three children were well-rounded and responsible. Especially my son. 0

When my brother secretly brought Zhang Zhe to meet my son, he was already able to firmly refuse him with righteous indignation. He said that Zhang Zhe had neither given him life nor raised him. Now he wanted him to recognize the the Cheng Family as his ancestors? That was just a daydream. 0

My brother's eldest son managed the family business. My sister-in-law's daughter enjoyed life just like I did. Meanwhile, under my sister-in-law's teachings, my son held great admiration for the Ming. 0

After graduating from university, I ventured to New Town. My sister-in-law visited her maternal family multiple times. It wasn't until I had gray hair at my temples that I finally went with her. 0

My sister-in-law had given a heads-up in advance. Her maternal family had made preparations. By the time we arrived, they were already waiting for us. My sister-in-law's older brother led us into the courtyard where she lived before getting married. 0

The courtyard was still arranged just as it had been before. I paused for a moment and asked, "Brother, what is this...?" 0

He smiled and replied, "This is Fangjing's courtyard before she got married. Her family has kept it just like this since her wedding. She said that it should remain the same as it was before she married because she will always come back." 0

A warmth spread through my heart. My sister-in-law came from a prestigious family but was not bound by those conventions. After marrying into the the Jiang Family, my parents and her brother treated her like their own daughter. And she truly lived up to that trust. 0

She worked hard to be a good daughter-in-law to the the Jiang Family while also assisting her brother, Jiang Haoming, in managing the company. She managed the household with great efficiency and even found time amidst her busy schedule to help take care of my child and soothe my emotions. 0

She accompanied me through countless difficult nights. In my heart, she was the person I trusted the most. 0

With a warm smile, my sister-in-law said, "I feel the same way." 0
