I took the opportunity to stick my head out and observe the alleyway again. After confirming it was temporarily safe, I quickly carried the girl and swiftly crossed the alley, running all the way to the back of building 7. The reason why it's necessary to take out this little monster now is because it was previously moving towards the direction of building 7. Behind building 7, towards the carport, there is no cover or obstruction, everything is in full view.
If this little monster really walks to Building 7, it will easily discover me behind the carport. In case it lets out a loud roar, attracting other monsters, my situation will be extremely dangerous, almost impossible to escape. So, just in case, I must first deal with this potential situation. Also, I want to test the sharpness of this fire axe and my own level of attack with it, using the skull of this little monster who was a high school student in his lifetime and whose skull has not completely fused, is the most appropriate thing to do.
Behind Building 7 is a row of long electric bicycles parked in the carport, which is the place where residents of the community usually park and charge their electric bicycles. Other than people parking their electric vehicles, there are usually very few people around, except for those who steal batteries. However, in the current disaster situation, there definitely won't be anyone risking coming out to steal batteries.
I observed the situation near the carport, confirmed it was safe, and then quietly made my way to the back of Building 7, next to the carport. Along the right wall of the carport, there was a long drainage ditch, about half a meter deep. I quickly moved forward along the railing of the carport next to the drainage ditch. Just as I had run about two-thirds of the length of the carport, I heard the sound of chains being dragged in front of me.
I stopped in my tracks, crouched down, and hid my body under the carport railing and a row of electric cars, then quietly listened to the sound ahead. After a few seconds, there was a clinking sound, as if something was being chained and struggling to break free. I pulled out a fire axe, gripped it in my hand, and then crouched down and quietly approached.
When I was less than five meters away, I saw clearly through the gap between the front wheels of the electric car. There was a monster lying on the ground, with both hands tightly bound by an iron chain about the thickness of two thumbs, which also passed through the palms of the hands. The other end of the iron chain was tightly tied to the steel column of the carport, with two large locks on it. The reason this guy was lying on the ground was because its lower body was already gone.
Accurately speaking, the lower half of the body from the waist down is reduced to a few exposed bones, with internal organs and intestines dragging on the ground in a trail of blood. It is entangled with the wheels of an electric bike, and its body occasionally twists as if trying to break free, causing the chains to sway. The scene is both bloody and nauseating.
It is obvious that this was deliberately chained up, and the lower half of this creature seems to have been torn apart by other monsters.
Originally, I had intended to ignore it and simply walk around, but I realized that in the current situation, with no cover in sight, there was no way to avoid it. Whether I walked in front of it or circled around from behind, it would detect me. It seems to have heard my footsteps and has begun to growl low in its throat.
I lightly tapped the wall a few times with the fire axe, intentionally making a faint "ding ding" sound to attract its attention. It tilted its head and looked towards me, then discovered me and began desperately writhing its upper body towards me. However, its hands were tightly restrained by iron chains, and it couldn't stop emitting an excited low growl from its mouth.
Seeing its mouth getting wider and wider, I realized the danger and rushed up, aiming at its neck. With a swift motion, I raised the axe and brought it down. With a "thud," its head rolled directly into the nearby drain. As the sewage continued to pour into its throat, its "roaring" howl ultimately couldn't escape.
I'm in a hurry now and don't have time to deal with it. This is the most direct and effective way to deal with it.
Shortly afterwards, I successfully carried the girl through the carport and dashed into the flower bed. In the middle of the flower bed, there was a tall cedar tree surrounded by some plants I couldn't name, such as dwarf pines. The trees in the flower bed were quite lush, making it difficult to spot anyone hiding inside from the outside. So, I hid in there, feeling relatively safe for the time being. I crouched behind a dwarf pine tree, observing the situation near the back door of the supermarket.
The back door of the supermarket is open. It's about seven to eight meters from the flower bed to the back door of the supermarket. Under normal circumstances, I could rush there with the girl on my back in just two seconds, but because the back door of the supermarket is open, I dare not act recklessly for the time being.
Normally, the back door of the supermarket is closed or at least partially covered, and it wouldn't be completely open like this. In the current disaster situation, with the back door wide open, there is only one possibility: the people inside the supermarket have been infected, or there is a high likelihood of monsters inside. Thinking back to the store manager I saw earlier, if I were to rush in now, it would be extremely dangerous.
I stared at the window next to the supermarket back door for a few minutes and found several moving shadows inside, walking with a swaying and unsteady gait, confirming my inference was correct.
The old method, still need to lure these guys out first.
I looked to the right of the flower bed, and about ten meters away was the fountain square. The pool in the square was about twenty meters away from me. I took out the small stones I had picked from the balcony planter on the 5th floor earlier, three of them left, and threw them all directly at the glass of the window next to the supermarket back door.

The sound of three small stones hitting the tempered glass on the window caused a few monsters inside to be startled.
Afterwards, I saw three monsters coming out from the back door, growling low in their mouths and looking around. One of the monsters was growling low while aimlessly walking towards the flower bed.
I was a little surprised and quickly picked up a fist-sized stone that I had previously dug up at the foot of a dwarf pine tree, and fiercely threw it towards the central pool of the fountain square.
The stone sparked on the cement ground, making a "clatter, clatter, clatter" friction sound, then jumped and rolled into the pool, creating a splash of water.
The three monsters in front of the door were attracted by the sound and movement of the stone in the distance, and began to walk towards the central pool of the square.
After the monsters left, it was about a dozen meters from the back door. I tightened the sheet that was tied around the girl on my back, glanced at the girl's face leaning on my shoulder, then straightened up and rushed towards the supermarket back door.
