The three of them huddled closely together, their breaths unusually loud, like a unique rhythm in this underwater world, constantly reminding them that they were in a realm entirely different from the land above.
To their astonishment, they discovered that even in this deep water, they could breathe freely without relying on diving suits or oxygen tanks.
"It seems our journey is more thrilling than we imagined," Luo Shanhe said with a bitter smile, his eyes reflecting both fear of the unknown and a desire for exploration. He scanned the surroundings, trying to find any signs of breakthrough in this unfamiliar sea, but aside from the endless darkness and the occasional glimpse of strange creatures, he found nothing.
As they reveled in the visual impact of the azure deep sea, the light gradually dimmed. Suddenly, a group of massive figures approached swiftly, their shells glinting ominously under the faint light with a metallic sheen.
Perhaps it was the Nuclear Waste Catastrophe spreading through the ocean; a swarm of Mutated Lobsters had quietly awakened. Their bodies had grown abnormally large due to radiation, their shells shimmering with an unsettling metallic luster, and their pincers sharp as blades.
"Be careful!"
Leng Fengyang reacted swiftly. Despite his injuries, he instinctively pulled A Yan behind him for protection and quickly drew out a familiar Rebar, ready to confront the impending danger.
At the same time, Luo Shanhe showed no fear. He adjusted the stance of his large sniper rifle and casually picked up a massive Coral Stone to use as an improvised shield.
These mutated monsters were clearly enraged by Leng Fengyang and his companions' sudden intrusion, as if they had triggered some kind of taboo. They surged forth from the dark silt with terrifying roars that echoed like calls from hell, sending chills down their spines.
The enormous pincers glinted coldly under the moonlight, seemingly capable of tearing through steel with ease. The eyes of these Mutated Lobsters burned with an eerie green light, filled with endless hatred and a desire for slaughter against the intruders.
They charged toward the trio at an astonishing speed, filling the air with a heavy scent of blood and despair. A horrific confrontation between humans and mutated creatures was quietly unfolding in this deep sea tainted by the Nuclear Waste Catastrophe.
Using his agile form, Leng Fengyang navigated skillfully through the swarm of Mutated Lobsters. The Rebar in his hand transformed into a sharp blade, flowing smoothly as he deftly avoided the lobsters' hard shells and struck at their vulnerable underbellies.
A Yan utilized her profound understanding of marine life to cleverly divert the lobsters' attention, paving a path for Leng Fengyang and Luo Shanhe to launch their attacks.
As for Luo Shanhe, he used the intricate coral reefs as natural barriers while continuously firing his weapon. His precise shots dealt lethal blows to the Mutated Lobster Swarm.
The battle was exceptionally fierce; each clash was accompanied by splashes of water and the sound of cracking lobster shells. Despite their coordinated efforts, facing such overwhelming numbers began to take its toll on them.
At that moment, A Yan noticed that these lobsters seemed particularly sensitive to a certain direction. Whenever a creature swam by from that way, they would temporarily halt their attacks and appear wary.
"A-Feng! Over there!"
A Yan pointed towards a direction, hope flickering in her eyes as she said, "Perhaps there's something we can use over there or something that can lead these lobsters away."
Upon hearing this, Leng Fengyang and Luo Shanhe immediately adjusted their strategy. They continued to fend off the lobsters' attacks while slowly retreating towards the direction A Yan indicated.
After a fierce struggle, the three of them stood before a deep Undersea Tunnel, their hearts filled with both tension and anticipation. The faint blue light seemed like a mysterious lighthouse in the deep sea, attracting various curious marine creatures and appearing to be their only hope of escaping the siege of the Mutated Lobster.
"This tunnel looks unusual; we need to be careful," Luo Shanhe whispered, his voice unusually clear in the tranquil water, his grip on the large sniper rifle showcasing his alertness.
A Yan nodded and replied, "That's true, but it's better than staying here and being attacked by lobsters. There might be a way out inside, or perhaps creatures that can help us."
Leng Fengyang took the lead with a Rebar, not hesitating as he gestured for the others to follow closely. They cautiously approached the entrance of the Undersea Tunnel, every step filled with vigilance.
As they ventured deeper, the blue light grew brighter, and the surrounding water temperature seemed to rise slightly, allowing their bodies to relax a bit; after all, warmth indicated possible signs of life.
The interior of the Undersea Tunnel was not as narrow and dark as they had imagined; instead, it was spacious and intricate, filled with various strange coral reefs and colorful fish. These creatures appeared unfazed by the presence of humans, continuing their own rhythms of life as if this place were another world isolated from everything else.
"Look over there!" A Yan suddenly pointed to a nearby area where a group of peculiar creatures gathered. They were small in size, emitting a faint blue glow, moving in a harmonious manner as if participating in some kind of ritual.
"Those are Bioluminescent Fish," Leng Fengyang said softly. He had read about these creatures in some books; they could emit light in darkness to guide companions or ward off enemies. "Maybe we can use their glow to confuse the lobsters."
The three of them slowly approached the school of Bioluminescent Fish, trying their best not to make any noise.
Leng Fengyang had an idea and reminded A Yan to take out some small mirrors from her backpack—simple reflective tools they had prepared for emergencies. They began gently directing the mirrors towards the Bioluminescent Fish, reflecting the light emitted by the fish towards the entrance of the Undersea Tunnel.
Before long, the Mutated Lobster were drawn in by this sudden burst of brightness, rushing towards the depths of the Undersea Tunnel, as if pulled by some unknown force.
Seeing this, the three took advantage of the distraction to quicken their pace, continuing deeper along a seemingly wider passage while remaining vigilant for any surprises.
As they delved further into the Undersea Tunnel, the surroundings became even more spectacular. Huge crystal columns hung from the arched ceiling of the tunnel, contrasting beautifully with the coral reefs below, creating a natural underwater palace.
Even more astonishingly, they discovered a hot spring surrounded by rare aquatic plants that thrived even in high temperatures.
"This place is truly miraculous."
"A Yan" exclaimed, her voice tinged with awe.
And it seemed that for now, they were safe.
"Leng Fengyang" looked around, confirming that the "Mutated Lobster Swarm" had not followed them, feeling a slight sense of relief.
Just as they were about to take a moment to rest, a deep "Roar" echoed from the depths of the "Undersea Tunnel," accompanied by a faint tremor.
The three exchanged glances, an ominous premonition rising within them. They realized that although they had temporarily escaped the pursuit of the "Mutated Lobster," they might soon have to face an even more brutal danger.
