The unexpected appearance of Yun Er illuminated a new chapter in the evolution of the undead, signaling that the path ahead would lead them into a more intricate and perilous battlefield for survival. 0

Faced with this sudden challenge, he understood that their primary task was to assist A Yan in gathering the crucial ingredients for the formula. This was not only key to their continued progress but also a necessary preparation against unknown threats. 0

After driving for several dozen miles, their view opened up to reveal a towering mountain before them. Despite their exhaustion from the journey, they could not afford to miss the opportunity presented by the potential medicinal herbs hidden within those mountains. 0

Initially, for safety reasons, they planned to have A Yan stay in the vehicle as support. However, considering Leng Fengyang and Luo Shanhe's limitations in identifying herbs, they ultimately decided that all three should ascend the mountain together. 0

Herb gathering was a skilled task, yet it was fraught with danger. As they navigated through the rugged terrain, an unexpected accident shattered the tranquility. A Yan accidentally stepped into thin air; the ground beneath her seemed to vanish as if pulled away by an invisible hand, collapsing without warning and plunging her into peril. 0

In that critical moment, Leng Fengyang displayed extraordinary courage and determination. Without hesitation and disregarding his own safety, he rushed toward A Yan at full speed, trying to rescue her from danger. 0

Seeing this, Luo Shanhe could not stand idly by. Just as he reached out to grab the falling Leng Fengyang, it was already too late; all three unfortunately fell into a deep mine shaft. 0

As consciousness slowly returned, Leng Fengyang endured intense pain throughout his body and strained to search through scattered belongings around him. Finally, he grasped a flashlight. 0

With trembling fingers, he managed to press the switch. A bright beam of light suddenly pierced through the surrounding darkness, like the first ray of dawn breaking through a despairing abyss, bringing a glimmer of hope. 0

"A Yan! Lao Luo! Can you hear me? How are you?" 0

Despite his own injuries, Leng Fengyang's thoughts were consumed with concern for their safety. He vividly remembered how the ground had collapsed without warning just moments ago; he had rushed forward to save A Yan and ended up falling into this predicament. 0

"A-Feng! I'm here; I can still breathe! What about A Yan? Is she okay?" 0

A weak yet resolute voice responded, easing some of Leng Fengyang's worries. 0

"I'm fine too; it's just that my foot is pinned under a rock." 0

A Yan's voice came from not far behind him, tinged with a hint of helplessness but allowing Leng Fengyang's tense nerves to relax slightly. 0

After rescuing A Yan and briefly tending to their injuries to ensure they were not serious, Leng Fengyang thoughtfully remarked, "This must be an illegal mining operation. The entrance has been sealed off due to the collapse. Time is of the essence; we will soon run out of oxygen, so we must hurry and find an exit." 0

With that said, Leng Fengyang held the flashlight in his left hand and led the way while gripping a blood-stained rebar in his right hand like a protective sword, ready to face any unknown challenges ahead. 0

A Yan closely followed behind him. Although her steps were slightly unsteady due to her injured foot being trapped under a rock, there was no sign of retreat in her eyes; she did not want to hold back the team at this critical moment. 0

Luo Shanhe remained highly vigilant, gripping his firearm tightly as he took on the role of rear guard. His sharp gaze was always prepared for any ambush from behind. 0

The synergy among the three was beginning to take shape; their teamwork was evolving as they melded into one cohesive unit. 0

The air inside the mine was damp and cold; each breath felt like a challenge against their limits. The flashlight's beam traced a faint yet determined path through the darkness, illuminating the unknown road ahead. 0

"Everyone be careful, there may be unpredictable dangers hidden here," Leng Fengyang whispered, his voice echoing in the vast mine, adding to the tense atmosphere. 0

As they ventured deeper, the scene within the mine grew increasingly complex. Stalactites hung from the stone walls, crystal clear yet concealing the danger of falling at any moment. The ground was littered with remnants of past mining disasters—bones and remains that told tragic tales of what had once occurred. A foul odor of decay permeated the air, causing them to frown involuntarily. 0

Suddenly, a faint rustling broke the silence of the cave, and the three immediately became alert, standing back to back as Leng Fengyang swept his flashlight beam back and forth. 0

Out of the darkness surged a group of Mutated Centipedes, their large bodies vibrant in color, clearly not native to this environment. These centipedes moved with incredible speed, brandishing their venomous pincers as they charged toward the trio. 0

"Split up and watch for dodges!" Leng Fengyang quickly assessed the situation. He darted aside, using agile footwork to evade the centipedes' attacks while wielding a Rebar to accurately stab at those approaching him. 0

Luo Shanhe held his firearm steady, creating an impenetrable barrier as he shot down each centipede that came too close. 0

Typically, girls would be afraid of bugs, but A Yan showed no signs of fear. Instead, she calmly retrieved a seemingly inconspicuous packet of powder from her backpack and unhesitatingly scattered it towards the terrifying swarm of Centipedes. 0

Miraculously, the powder seemed to possess some mysterious power that caused the once aggressive Mutated Centipedes to panic. They emitted unwilling shrieks as if encountering a natural enemy and hurriedly fled from the area covered in powder, scattering in all directions. 0

"A Yan, this stuff is impressive; it has such a magical effect," Luo Shanhe marveled as he watched A Yan effortlessly disperse the swarm with just a small packet of powder. A wave of indescribable shock and admiration surged within him. 0

However, their temporary safety did not allow the trio to linger in joy for long. Though sparks of happiness flickered in their hearts, they were soon overshadowed by clouds of rationality. They understood that this was merely a small episode in their long journey through the mine; more unknown and dangerous challenges awaited them ahead. 0

Continuing onward, they entered a more spacious cavern where a bottomless lake lay at its center. The water glowed with an eerie green light. Just as they prepared to navigate around the lake for further exploration, a low growl emanated from its depths. Suddenly, a gigantic Mutated Scorpion leaped out of the water, its size enough to instill fear. 0

"This one looks tough to handle," Luo Shanhe said solemnly, gripping his weapon tightly in preparation for battle. 0

"We can't brute force this; we need to outsmart it." 0

Leng Fengyang calmly analyzed the surroundings of the mine, then handed the flashlight to A Yan. "A Yan, try to attract its attention with the light. Lao Luo and I will flank it from the sides." 0

A Yan nodded and waved the flashlight, successfully drawing the attention of the Mutated Scorpion. Under the stimulation of the light, the scorpion's tail whipped like a sharp steel whip, each swing accompanied by a whistling sound as it advanced toward A Yan. 0

Leng Fengyang and Luo Shanhe exchanged a trusting glance before moving to circle around the scorpion, looking for an opportunity to strike. 0
