Jiang Chen also looked at Liu Pingping. At this moment, Liu Pingping was wearing a pure white wedding dress, resembling a white lotus, stunningly beautiful. It was no wonder that Feng Dong was so infatuated with her; she truly deserved the title of the First Beauty in the Southwest Province socialite circle.
Yang Er noticed Liu Pingping's demeanor and couldn't help but wonder why she was so interested in Jiang Chen. Was it his unique aura that attracted her? Besides his charm, Jiang Chen's height and looks were not particularly outstanding.
"Pingping, I came all the way back from Great Britain to see you, and you’re ignoring me to pay attention to a boy? Hmph, I’m upset," Yang Er pretended to be angry.
Liu Pingping snapped back to reality and turned to Yang Er. Although they were nearly ten thousand kilometers apart, they often video chatted, maintaining their close friendship. Joking around was quite normal for them.
"E'er, don’t be mad! I’m sorry, I apologize," Liu Pingping said somewhat shyly.
"Pingping, I was just joking. This young man is called Jiang Chen; he said he’s here to help you with your troubles!" Yang Er laughed.
"Ah, he really came... to save me?" Liu Pingping realized that her earlier thoughts were not just fantasies. Hearing her friend say that this Jiang Chen was indeed here to help her left her utterly astonished. After her surprise, Liu Pingping became even more excited and began to rush down the stairs.
In her eagerness and excitement, Liu Pingping accidentally stepped on the hem of her wedding dress, losing her balance and nearly tumbling down the stairs.
Seeing this scene, Yang Er and the others screamed in fright. It was clear that it was too late to save her. Just as everyone panicked, a figure moved swiftly, and then they saw Liu Pingping being caught by Jiang Chen as he gracefully descended from the second floor into the hall.
Liu Pingping leaned against Jiang Chen's arm, staring at him with a blank mind. It wasn’t until Jiang Chen helped her up that she regained her senses, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Yang Er stood nearby, completely stunned. She never expected Jiang Chen to be so capable; he resembled a hero from a television drama.
"Dad, Mr. Jiang is someone you invited to help? You didn’t even tell me," Liu Pingping said, trying to shift the topic as she gathered herself.
"I didn’t know either; Mr. Jiang was brought here by Xiao E," Liu Xifang replied.
"E'er, did you invite Mr. Jiang?" Upon hearing this, Liu Pingping felt touched; it was clear that her friend cared for her and didn’t want to see her fall into a pit of trouble.
"I met him by chance when I just got off the plane. He said he could help with your troubles, so I brought him along," Yang Er explained.
"Ah, you just met him?" Liu Pingping felt a pang of disappointment. This Jiang Chen seemed too young; what strength could he possibly have to save her? Although she had fantasized about a heroic young man coming to rescue her, now that one had actually appeared, she realized that youth often lacked the capability she had imagined.
Could it be that this young man was merely attracted by her beauty and came over for some advantage? Just like earlier when he held her briefly. But then again, he did save her; their brief contact didn’t mean much.
"Uh, Mr. Jiang, I really appreciate your willingness to help me with my troubles. However, please do not provoke the Feng Family," Liu Pingping said earnestly.
"Don’t worry; your father has already informed me about the situation. I must get involved in this matter," Jiang Chen replied with a calm smile.
