Amid the clamor of the guests, Anqing continued to explain, but her heart was filled with a different sentiment. Sun Meng was truly out of line, abandoning so many guests to be intimate in the private room. 0

Liang Chao was bleeding profusely, and Sun Meng was in a state of emotional turmoil, almost frantic. Ziya, Zhi Qing, and a waiter were at a loss for how to handle the situation. They exchanged glances; Zhi Qing was furious at Sun Meng's absurdity. He wanted to reveal Ziya's condition but was firmly stopped by Ziya's stern command. 0

"Ha! You are all a bunch of hypocrites trying to put on a show for me. It's not going to work; my words are just for show." 0

"Sun Meng, how can you say that? You make me feel so helpless. You can ignore our years of feelings, but I cannot forget our promise. Do you remember? We wished each other eternal happiness." 0

"Hmph! You think I can compare with you? You sit high above while I have to stand on tiptoe just to look up at you. Don't be so self-righteous, always trying to involve yourself in my life with Liang Chao. You wear a mask of virtue; that's enough..." 0

After saying this, Sun Meng forcefully swiped the blade in her hand. At that moment, Ziya rushed forward and grabbed Sun Meng's hand holding the blade tightly. Zhi Qing quickly joined in to help restrain Sun Meng while the waiter stepped back to call for an ambulance. 0

When the ambulance arrived, the guests were oblivious to what had transpired and continued eating and drinking, patiently waiting for the bride to toast them. The ambulance took Liang Chao away through the corridor while hotel security, led by the waiter, subdued Sun Meng and handed her over to the police who arrived shortly after. Zhi Qing accompanied Ziya as they followed. 0

The restaurant was lavishly decorated; upon entering through the main door, there was an elevator to the upper floors along with a staircase. A corridor separated the dining room from the private rooms, making it impossible for those dining to see what was happening inside. Even if a waiter had seen something, Ziya hushed them into silence to prevent any leaks. Zhi Qing admired Ziya's calm and wise demeanor and wholeheartedly supported his actions to avoid any additional violent incidents between their families. 0

Ziya discreetly called his father Liu Haoming to explain the situation clearly and urged him to hurry to the hospital to check on Liang Chao's condition. Anqing did her best to settle the guests; she had her hands full trying to accommodate Liang Chao's parents while also crafting a story that would convince everyone that the bride and groom had slipped away due to fear of punishment drinks. Overall, the guests were loudly dissatisfied, some even throwing tantrums and leaving immediately. Liang Chao's parents felt guilty, believing their son still harbored resentment towards them, and quietly departed. 0

Ziya felt deeply troubled; how could Sun Meng act this way? After so many years of friendship, her accusations and resentment... How had he failed to notice that Sun Meng harbored such twisted thoughts? Perhaps he had truly been wrong all along. Did this relate to that incident in their house? Regarding that infant corpse—if it were solely that woman's strength, she wouldn't have been able to pry open the wall and place the body inside; there must have been some oversight. This was something neither Zhi Qing nor Severe Cold had considered, perhaps because everyone had been preoccupied with Liang Chao's upcoming wedding. 0

"Zhi Qing, do you think there's a connection between Sun Meng and Liang Chao... and that incident?" Ziya asked as he looked at Zhi Qing, who was frowning deeply. 0

"Yes, I've been pondering this too; it shouldn't be! I cleaned everything thoroughly that day—what could I have possibly missed?" 0

"That Dead Baby." 0

"Dead Baby child?" 0

"Yes, think about it. How could a woman who just gave birth have the strength to pry open the wall? You saw that day; it took all three of you a lot of effort to get it open. So what do you think?" 0

"Right, how did I not consider this? There must be more to this story!" 0

"Mm." Ziya nodded firmly, feeling that the matter involving Liang Chao and Sun Meng was far from over, though she was uncertain about Liang Chao's current condition. 0

Before Ziya could call her father, he called her first, informing her that Liang Chao had died in the Emergency Room due to excessive blood loss and other reasons. Upon hearing this, Ziya suddenly felt weak all over. Although she didn't have any fondness for Liang Chao, she couldn't accept that he had been taken away so inexplicably, leaving Sun Meng, who loved him deeply, devastated. 0

"He's dead?" Seeing Ziya's expression, Zhiqing sensed that there was no hope left; Liang Chao was undoubtedly gone. 0

Ziya remained silent, merely nodding sadly as she leaned more heavily against the car seat. Handcuffed, Sun Meng continued to shout and scream, her emotions showing no sign of easing. Through the wire mesh window, she looked at Ziya and Zhi Qing sitting in the front seat, her eyes filled with fear, confusion, and a deeper sense of bewilderment. 0

"What should we do?" The usually decisive Zhiqing felt lost at this moment, her hands intertwining nervously as her brows remained furrowed. 0

"I don't know. What’s the penalty for intentional homicide under Criminal Law?" Ziya asked in a near-whisper, on the verge of tears. She didn’t dare speak loudly with other police officers around. 0

"Don't say that; your health is important. We'll find out soon enough," Zhiqing said as she wrapped her arms around Ziya's trembling shoulders, offering quiet comfort. 0

The police car sped through the streets, lights flashing without hindrance at red or green signals. Ziya didn't want to think about what would happen to Sun Meng in the future; her mind was a chaotic mess. Leaning into Zhiqing's embrace, she closed her eyes and pretended to sleep. 0

The police car drove into the precinct, and Ziya and Zhi Qing got out, standing to the side as Sun Meng was brought down from the vehicle, her hands cuffed. Ziya turned her head away, unable to believe that this scene was real; she would have preferred to be dreaming, wishing she had not yet woken up from that dream. 0

During the interrogation, Sun Meng was completely uncooperative with the officers' questions, even lashing out at them with wild curses. Her madness and shattered mentality were unlike anything normal. When Ziya and Zhi Qing entered, it seemed as if Sun Meng did not recognize either of them, treating them like strangers in a hotel. 0
