The newly erected Flower Arch stood majestically, adorned with a long red carpet and clusters of flowers placed prominently. Guests murmured blessings as they mingled, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere at the wedding. 0

Colorful candies were arranged at the guest registration area, while Anqing stood in for the matriarch of the Fang Family. Liang Chao's parents were also present, and everyone wore cheerful smiles, contributing to the joyous ambiance. A large portrait of the bride and groom was displayed prominently; the bride, serene and charming, clung to the groom's arm, radiating happiness that made many relatives and friends envious. The bridesmaid, Ziya, stood beside the bride, Sun Meng, while the groomsman accompanied Liang Chao. As guests arrived, they were greeted with smiles and offered sweets and cigarettes. 0

This scene was truly delightful, evoking admiration as Liang Chao and Sun Meng finally tied the knot. They had weathered numerous trials and tribulations together, enduring countless separations and reunions. One would expect such an outcome to bring them joy. 0

However, Ziya couldn't shake off her unease. She vividly recalled a dream from the previous night that mirrored this scene but felt entirely different. 0

In her dream, Sun Meng wore a cold expression as she dragged her long wedding gown forward. There was no groom waiting for her; only an endless void of desolation lay ahead. The white gown was stained with blood, and a child clutched at it while Ziya shouted desperately, but no one paid attention. This bizarre dream had haunted her repeatedly, even continuing into last night. Each time she dreamed it, Sun Meng took another step forward. What could this possibly signify? Ziya didn't want to dwell on it; she couldn't bear to ruin this beautiful moment. 0

The Imperial Capital Grand Hotel had been personally booked by Liu Haoming for his goddaughter Sun Meng's banquet. Due to the large number of guests, both the second and third floors were reserved. Time ticked away as guests settled in amidst the host's warm greetings and laughter. The wedding ceremony officially began with the celebrant loudly proclaiming vows of union, propelling the banquet forward. The groom stood on the red carpet, waiting for the bride’s parents to escort her down. 0

Finally, Sun Meng linked arms with Ziya's father, Liu Haoming, as she walked down the red carpet. Yet Ziya felt an unsettling anxiety that she couldn't shake off—she felt restless standing still or moving about. Her behavior caught Zhiqing's attention. 0

"Ziya, are you feeling unwell?" Zhiqing whispered as she squeezed in next to Ziya. 0

"No, I'm fine," Ziya reassured herself internally; nothing unusual was happening—it was probably just a dream. 0

"Severe Cold didn't come after all," Zhiqing misinterpreted Ziya’s unease as concern for Severe Cold's absence. After Liang Chao sent an invitation to Severe Cold, he called to say he couldn't attend due to family matters. Of course, Ziya was aware of this; Sun Meng had already informed her. 0

"It doesn't matter to me whether he comes or not; could you please not mention him in front of me?" Ziya replied somewhat angrily. She thought Zhiqing was generally good-natured but often acted too clever for his own good—always guessing others' thoughts based on his professional instincts. 0

A burst of enthusiastic applause pulled both Ziya and Zhiqing back into the wedding scene as the bride and groom exchanged rings under the officiant's guidance. Guests urged Liang Chao to share how he fell in love with the bride and how they planned to nurture their relationship while avoiding the so-called seven-year itch legend. 0

Liang Chao's face turned a deep shade of purple, while Sun Meng remained surprisingly calm and composed. Amidst the guests' teasing, Liang Chao succinctly recounted the journey from their romance to their wedding. The next step was for the bride to change out of her wedding dress and into the outfit prepared for her by Anqing. 0

The guests began to eat and drink, and soon the sounds of clinking glasses and lively chatter filled the air. Ziya, feeling a lack of appetite, grew increasingly anxious as the bride and groom had been in the private room for quite some time without emerging. She called for Zhiqing, and together they made their way to the bride's room. 0

At the door of the private room, Ziya raised her hand to knock but hesitated, lowering it again. Although they were good friends, this was Sun Meng's wedding; she felt it inappropriate to interfere in any way. 0

Zhiqing shared her thoughts, considering that if Liang Chao and Sun Meng were being intimate inside, their sudden intrusion would be quite rude. Downstairs, the guests continued their feasting; logically, at this point in the banquet, the bride and groom should have come out to toast and thank everyone. Anqing grew anxious as she searched for Ziya and Zhiqing, hoping they could urge Liang Chao and Sun Meng to join the festivities. 0

"There you are! Hurry up and get them moving," Anqing exclaimed upon finding Ziya and Zhiqing lingering at the door without making a sound. 0

“Ding ding ding! Mengmeng, are you two ready?” Ziya thought of an excuse to prompt them when Anqing informed her that it was time for the bride and groom to come out for the toast. Without hesitation, she knocked on the door loudly. 0

There was no response from inside, nor any sign of movement. This only heightened Ziya's anxiety. She quickly urged Zhiqing to find a waiter to open the door while telling Anqing not to worry; she would go downstairs to explain to the guests that the bride would be out shortly. 0

Zhiqing hurriedly returned with a waiter who wasted no time opening the door. As it swung open, a strong smell of blood assaulted their senses. Ziya gasped in horror as the waiter rushed to turn on the light switch on the wall. 0

Inside, they saw Liang Chao lying naked on the sofa, his lower body covered in blood and barely conscious. Sun Meng stood there in her blood-stained wedding dress, holding a blade with a vacant stare fixed on Ziya and the others. 0

“Mengmeng! What happened? How could you do this?” Ziya shouted hoarsely. Zhiqing was taken aback and frantically reached for her phone to call emergency services, while the waiter looked pale with fear, trembling uncontrollably. 0

“Anyone who dares call for help will regret it,” Sun Meng threatened, raising the blade dangerously close to her carotid artery. Zhiqing quickly withdrew her hand, and all three stood frozen in fear. 0

“Mengmeng! This isn't how you should act; you're a bride!” Ziya scolded her fiercely, anger lacing her voice. 0

"Ha ha ha, bride, Ziya, do you know why Liang Chao likes me? It's because of you. He originally wanted to court you, but instead, he accidentally fell for me. You are the flower, and I am just your green leaf, accompanying you for a lifetime. You are beautiful, graceful, and excel in everything; you surpass me in every way. I hate you for having so many boys who like you, and I hate that you have parents who love and care for you. I have nothing—just a pitiful beggar. Their kindness towards me is merely sympathy; they pity me. Where is the true affection?" Sun Meng lamented with tears streaming down her face, her white wedding dress stained red. The blade in her hand was deeply embedded in her carotid artery, and Liang Chao was in imminent danger while Zhiqing was frantic with worry. 0

"Sun Meng, you're wrong. I once envied you; you are so calm and serene. You have no excessive troubles or worries, and you're always cheerful and happy. I truly envy you; how can you have such extreme thoughts? My parents genuinely care for you; they treat you like their own daughter. You are truly mistaken." Ziya tried everything to ease Sun Meng's nearly collapsing emotions. 0

"Ha ha ha, you are all great deceivers. YaYa and Liang Chao are having an affair; Liang Chao is involved with those dubious women. You all know it; only I am kept in the dark. You treat me like a three-year-old child. Liang Chao deserves to die; I will accompany him. He is unfaithful, disregarding his family and the child in my womb. He even flirts with his own apprentice—it's unforgivable..." 0

"Sun Meng, you're too selfish. While you blame Ziya, have you considered her condition..." 0

"Zhiqing, don't..." Ziya knew what Zhiqing was about to say and hurriedly interrupted. 0
