Zhen seemed to have just come out of the bathroom, her long hair damp and casually draped over her back. The satin nightgown she wore shimmered under the light, and with a light dusting of powder on her face, she looked far more enchanting than Ziya had seen earlier at the door. Even through her phone, the beauty was evident. 0

Ziya quietly watched as Zhen walked up to Li Darwen and boldly sat down on his lap. The innocence that had initially been visible was completely gone; now, her face was adorned with a playful smile that could melt the heart of the man before her. 0

"Let the child out! You're making this very difficult for me," Li Darwen forced a strained smile. 0

"The baby is in my belly; you can feel him moving!" Zhen ignored his urgent demeanor and insistently pulled Li Darwen's hand to her slightly protruding belly, her face glowing with happiness. 0

"I meant Bao'er. Give him to me, and I will treat you both well in the future. I can fulfill all your wishes except for giving you a name," Li Darwen nearly pleaded. 0

Ziya was left confused by the conversation. How did this nanny have an affair with Li Darwen? Did he mean that he would treat Zhen and the child in her belly well? 0

Zhen pouted unhappily and said, "If I told you that I didn't take the child this time, would you believe me?" 0

Li Darwen was taken aback, quickly releasing her hand as a look of anxiety spread across his face. His facial muscles twitched as he asked, "Don't try to fool me; this isn't a joke. Did you hide the child or not?" 0

Zhen genuinely got angry and jumped off Li Darwen's lap, speaking slowly and deliberately: "Listen here, Li. Don’t use your child against me; I won’t fall for that. I work like a horse in your house, taking care of your sickly wife and then you, this lecher. I don’t want to live anymore..." Suddenly, Zhen began throwing a tantrum, repeatedly hitting her own belly while shouting. 0

"Enough... What do you want me to do to make you happy?" Li Darwen shouted loudly. His roar immediately silenced Zhen's outburst. She sulkily walked back to him, leaning her head against his chest and wrapping her arms tightly around his waist. 0

"I really didn’t hide Bao'er; why don’t you believe me?" Her sultry voice sent shivers down Ziya's spine, making him feel as if goosebumps were rising all over his body. 0

"I need to go look for the child. Stay here; how is she doing?" Seeing that Zhen seemed sincere and wasn't lying, Li Darwen felt a wave of intense unease wash over him. He quickly stood up to head outside in search of Bao'er. 0

"Cut! Playing dead, are we?" Zhen cursed Wanru as she watched Li Darwen hurriedly leave. 0

Ziya, standing nearby, began to understand. Li Darwen mistakenly believed that Zhen had hidden the missing child, which delayed the search at the best possible time. Knowing that it was futile for Li Darwen to look for the child now, Ziya was eager to check on Wanru. 0

As Ziya reached the bathroom door, she saw that Zhen had already entered. At the doorway, Ziya immediately noticed a pool of blood on the floor, and there was Wanru leaning against the Bathing White, her face ashen like that of a corpse. Her heart skipped a beat, and she steadied herself before stepping inside to stand behind Zhen. 0

"Darwen..." Zhen placed her hand near Wanru's nose and suddenly screamed, startling Ziya into taking a few steps back. Then she remembered that Zhen couldn't see her and steadied her nerves, moving to a corner of the wall. 0

Li Darwen had just left the front door and picked up an umbrella to search for the child when he heard Zhen's loud cries from upstairs. He quickly turned and ran up. 0

"What happened?" Li Darwen tossed the umbrella aside as he entered through the door and called out loudly into the bathroom. 0

"She... was fine just a moment ago, but now... you see for yourself..." Zhen seemed either deliberately frightened or habitually panicking, making Ziya beside her feel that she appeared quite innocent. 0

"Don't panic; let me take a look." Li Darwen crouched down to straighten Wanru's head and reached out to check her breath. Instantly, his brow furrowed tightly as he sighed heavily, "She's gone. Is this your doing..." He wiped away the blood from Wanru's forehead and sternly questioned Zhen. 0

"Everything that happens in your family can be blamed on me, right? The child is missing because of me, and now your wife is dead because of me. I... I might as well die too... I'll show you how I can die right now." Zhen truly seemed ready to throw herself against the wall. 0

"Stop making a scene! My dear aunt." Li Darwen grabbed her firmly and shouted. His thick brows were nearly twisted into knots. Ziya watched coldly at this woman named Zhen; such a malicious person made her want to slap her hard across the face. 0

"But how can a living person just disappear like that? This..." At this moment, Li Darwen felt like a headless fly without any direction; the child was missing. Wanru was dead, Wan Yu had committed suicide, and this woman who had once caused him trouble was pushing him toward the brink of collapse... 0

"In my opinion, it would be better if..." Zhen whispered into Li Darwen's ear. 0

Ziya felt a surge of anger as she clenched her fists, wishing she could throw something at that woman. Just then, a figure flashed at the doorway and disappeared down the corridor. Ziya quickly followed, spotting a short-haired woman ahead, holding a child’s hand and frequently glancing back as she walked forward. 0

A cold wind swept through, and Ziya suddenly felt a chill. She heard Severe Cold's voice calling out, "It just rained; you should wear an extra layer." 0

"What... just happened?" Ziya tentatively asked Severe Cold. 0

"What do you mean? Nothing happened!" Severe Cold replied, puzzled by Ziya's tone. She reached out to check Ziya's forehead and then touched her own, saying, "Temperature's normal; no signs of a cold or fever." 0

"That's not what I meant. I'm talking about what happened right after we got off the car," Ziya said, feeling confused and sensing something was off but unable to pinpoint what it was. 0

"You wiped your face after getting out of the car, and I told you to wear an extra layer. That's all," Severe Cold said, looking at Ziya with a strange expression. She quickly stepped out of the car and handed her some snacks while scrutinizing Ziya's eyes closely. 0

"What... are you looking at?" Ziya felt embarrassed under her gaze, her face flushing red as she mumbled. Yet in her mind, she couldn't shake off the oddity of what had just occurred. What did it mean? What was it a symbol of? 0
