"He is mine... give him back to me..." Ziya's face was covered in cracked, bulging veins, and the skin was almost crawling with white maggots. The exposed purple-red muscles revealed ghastly white bones, and a disgusting slime oozed from the gaping wounds. Her wide-open mouth emitted a foul stench that made it hard for anyone to look directly at her. She screamed wildly, standing up from the bed with her hair disheveled, completely unrecognizable as the original Ziya. 0

"What should I do? What should I do?" Severe Cold watched as Ziya stood naked, utterly unconcerned about her shame. He was so anxious that he didn't know how to react. With trembling hands, Severe Cold struggled to hold her down and quickly dressed her in clothes. 0

Seeing Ziya in such a painful and frenzied state caused Severe Cold's heart to ache. He had no idea how to stop her rampage and deeply regretted bringing her here. At that moment, he felt almost hopeless as he looked at the grotesque face that no longer belonged to Ziya. He thought perhaps neither of them would survive the night. Instead of fleeing, he bravely approached her, cupping her distorted face and lips, closing his eyes as he kissed her deeply. 0

Severe Cold kept his eyes shut, thinking that if they were to die, they would die together. With Ziya lost within this monstrous body, their lips trembled slightly upon contact. Gradually, Ziya's face began to return to normal. As she slowly opened her eyes, she found herself with Severe Cold... 0

"You... mmm..." Ziya stumbled back a few steps, glancing down at herself to see she was fully dressed, unable to recall what had just happened. She pushed Severe Cold away and absentmindedly wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, the faint fragrance lingering on his lips captivating him. At that moment, witnessing Ziya miraculously recover filled him with joy. Regardless of whether she wanted it or not, he couldn't help but pull her into his embrace once more. 0

Ziya felt confused; wasn't this warm embrace what she had longed for day and night? His body heat provided a sense of safety and comfort. They held each other tightly for a long time without addressing what had just occurred or saying anything at all, allowing time to slip away unnoticed. 0

Ziya and Severe Cold entered the study, hoping to find some records about the secrets hidden within the villa in the books. They divided their tasks: Severe Cold was responsible for browsing through the books on the shelves while Ziya continued examining the papers on the round table. 0

Gently picking up a piece of paper belonging to Bo Yi, Ziya set aside several sheets before her fingers brushed against a photograph. Unable to resist, she picked it up again for a closer look, which left her stunned. "Severe Cold..." Hearing something off in Ziya's voice while he was flipping through a book, Severe Cold quickly turned to look at her. 0

"What’s wrong?" he asked as he noticed Ziya trembling while holding a photograph, staring at it with an unusual intensity. 0

"It’s nothing! Photos fade over time; are you okay?" 0

Severe Cold looked at the photograph in Ziya's hand; it had developed small white spots resembling mold. The picture depicted two adults together, but there was something awkward about their poses—why were they standing so far apart? 0

"This photo is supposed to have three people in it; it’s only been a little over a day—there's no way one person could have faded away! And conveniently, it's just one child missing," Ziya said with an expression still filled with panic. 0

"Yes, if we fill this gap, it would just be the size of a child," Severe Cold noted, prompted by Ziya's observation that the distance between the photographs matched a child's dimensions. If what Ziya said was true, then this child couldn't have just run out from the pictures, could they? That seemed far-fetched. 0

Ziya's face grew paler as memories of what had happened in the bathroom flooded back to her. Severe Cold also recalled the Wooden Doll from Bathing White. "Is this child the Wooden Doll?" As soon as the words left Severe Cold's mouth, a shiver of cold ran down their spine. They didn't even dare to look at that eerie photograph again; Ziya's face, which had just regained some color, turned as pale as a ghost. 0

They hurriedly closed the study door and barricaded it with stools and other objects, fearing what might come next. The feeling of dread settled in, and neither dared to voice their inner fears. 0

Ziya continued to sift through the scattered papers while Severe Cold organized the books and flipped through others. Ziya's eyes were fixed on the papers, but her ears were attuned to any sounds from outside. 0

There was nothing in the books. Severe Cold methodically rearranged the disordered volumes until he pulled out a finely crafted ebony box that caught his attention. He reached for it, but it seemed stuck in the shelf as if something was holding it in place. 0

"Ziya, can you check below and see if there's something I can knock it with?" 0

"What?" Ziya replied, noticing Severe Cold trying to move a box lodged in the shelf. She quickly dropped the papers and rushed to the shelf, bringing a stool to help him shift the box. 0

At that moment, the light in the study flickered violently as if there was an impending power outage. A sound like metal scraping echoed from the hallway, and suddenly, the study door shook violently as if a giant beast were trying to topple the entire room. 0

Ziya hurried down from the stool to brace against the door with it and other furniture while Severe Cold frantically twisted at the box, eager to free it from its resting place. 0

Ziya felt genuine fear as her arms trembled against the door's violent shaking; cold sweat poured from every pore of her body as she kept glancing back at Severe Cold. 0

"Come on! Hurry!" Ziya exclaimed. Just then, with a loud 'crack,' the box fell free. Severe Cold caught it in his arms, jumped down from the stool, and rushed to hand it over to Ziya. 0

The door continued to shake violently; the doorknob twisted back and forth as if someone outside was desperately trying to unlock it with a key. They both shared a fleeting thought of opening the door to see what was so ferocious outside, but fear held them back from attempting to discover what awaited them beyond that threshold. 0

Ziya and Severe Cold shook their heads, hoping for the dawn to arrive soon. After a while, the entrance seemed to quiet down, and they both let out a long sigh of relief. Severe Cold wanted to open the door to take a look outside, but Ziya hurriedly stopped him. 0

"We shouldn't go out just yet. Perhaps there are things in this study that they fear. Otherwise, why would..." Ziya said, turning to glance at the table where a bronze statue of Guan Yu stood. The statue depicted Guan Yu in a commanding pose, one hand holding a large blade while the other stroked his beard, his round eyes glaring fiercely in the direction of the door. 0
