Ziya felt that the landlady was rather cold, and with no other choice, she sighed. However, after getting into bed, she realized she was somewhat accustomed to the bed, and it took her a long time to fall asleep. The ride had also left her feeling exhausted, as if her whole body was about to fall apart. 0

It seemed that the transportation here was still underdeveloped; most of the people coming here were merchants buying medicinal herbs. They purchased these herbs at low prices and sold them at double the price in the city, making a profit in the process. But according to Severe Cold, the villagers here were quite wealthy. So why hadn’t they thought of improving the transportation? 0

Taking out her laptop and plugging in a wireless card, Ziya organized some documents for a while but soon felt fatigued. 0

She poured hot water from the thermos to warm her feet, hoping it would help her sleep better later. Suddenly, a fit of coughing came from outside the door, followed by a knock. The landlady's hoarse voice called out loudly, "Fang, no matter what you hear inside, don’t shout. Just stay quiet tonight and everything will be fine." 0

Ziya was taken aback; it seemed like everyone in this town was a bit crazy! She ignored the shouting and decided to go to sleep. Gradually, her consciousness faded as she found herself in a comfortable sleeping position. 0

"You've come..." Soft whispers echoed in Ziya's deep sleep, brushing gently against her cheeks like silk. The strange sensation made her unable to resist; she wanted to sit up and see who it was but felt utterly powerless. As she sank deeper into her hazy awareness, two girls dressed in their prettiest gauzy skirts turned back to look at each other before resolutely pulling the curtains tight around their necks... 0

Ziya seemed to hear their increasingly heavy breathing and could almost see the curtains tightening around them like a rope... The suffocating feeling overwhelmed her as if she were about to lose consciousness. 0

Straining to look up, she saw above her a decorative light featuring stars, the moon, and the sun with Earth in the center. She tried to grasp something but could only clutch the blanket tightly, sensing movement in the room. 0

The two girls pulled the curtains tighter and tighter; she watched as the capillaries in their eyes rapidly filled with blood until crimson threads spread out... At that moment, another shadow appeared—faint yet distinct—like a wisp carried by the wind. The shadow gradually revealed its face; familiar eyes wept tears of blood... "You..." Ziya struggled to utter a word as she saw a woman staring with resentment at something in the distance... Following her gaze, Ziya saw the girls' legs hanging limply in midair... No! 0

Ziya reached out desperately... but grasped nothing but air... Suddenly sitting up, she found nothing before her. Only the sound of a clock ticking away. "Tick-tock, tick-tock." Am I at home? She murmured to herself, mistaking this place for home. Habitually reaching for tissues on her nightstand to wipe away sweat, her fingers touched cold glass instead. The glass fell from the nightstand with a loud crash, fully waking Ziya up. She quickly turned around and looked around with the dim light from the window before realizing she was somewhere else. 0

Getting up, she pressed the switch with a click and discovered that what had fallen from the nightstand was a picture frame. Picking it up revealed that the glass was shattered inside; there were two adorable girls in the frame. Were they not just in her dream? Looking closely at their photo, it was clear they were Twin Sisters with beautiful big eyes that seemed like they wanted to say something. 0

Ziya dared not sleep again; instead, she rummaged through magazines in her suitcase one by one until she could barely make out any words before reluctantly lying back down on her bed. Just as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, there came an urgent knocking at the door. 0

Reacting instinctively, Ziya sat up and confirmed that the sound came from outside her room. Rubbing her tired eyes, she walked wearily to open the door. Severe Cold and the landlady stood there looking at Ziya; she quickly glanced down and gasped! She was still wearing pajamas. With a loud bang, she slammed the door shut and hurried over to change out of her pajamas. Taking a deep breath, she solemnly opened the door again. 0

Severe Cold suppressed the slight smile that threatened to break on his lips as he picked up a steaming soup dumpling and brought it to his mouth, exhaling a puff of warm air. Chewing, he quietly asked, "How did you sleep last night?" 0

"Very well!" Ziya was not about to concede defeat in front of a man she had only known for two days. She replied with feigned ease, lifting a bowl of broth to her lips for a sip. She still felt a bit wary of the dumplings from this countryside eatery, instinctively thinking they were less hygienic than those in the city. 0

"Very well, so you mean we should continue to the Green Country Villa," Severe Cold said, handing her a soup dumpling. 0

"Yes, my friend is there, and I need to check on them." Ziya hesitated for a moment, wanting to refuse the dumpling he offered. She already thought it was dirty, and now that he had handed it to her... wasn't that even worse? 0

"Eat! You need energy to run. You’re not worried about it being dirty, are you?" Severe Cold's wise gaze seemed to see right through her hesitation. 0

Caught off guard by his urgency, Ziya felt embarrassed and had no choice but to force the dumpling into her mouth. The fragrant yet not overwhelming taste of lamb burst forth as she swallowed, enticing her to forget her earlier thoughts. She grabbed another dumpling and popped it into her mouth, causing Severe Cold to nearly laugh himself silly. 0

Ziya was simply too hungry; she hadn't eaten anything since leaving home. Last night, she had forgotten all about dinner while talking. Fortunately, Severe Cold had come early today and brought her to this town's eatery for these delicious dumplings with broth. 0

"Wow, I'm so full," Ziya said shyly, glancing at Severe Cold as she murmured to herself. 0

"Ahem, it seems someone just mentioned something being dirty," Severe Cold said as he stood up to pay the bill at the counter. The two crossed the road toward the owner of the eatery. It was only then that Ziya noticed the surroundings—elegant and unique little villas that made it hard to believe they were in such a remote area. 0

However, there were eyes peering from behind the glass windows, watching Ziya and Severe Cold like they were animals on display. "Are they looking at me or you?" Ziya whispered in confusion. 0

"Who cares! But the people here are generally kind-hearted; don't take it personally," Severe Cold replied as he followed Ziya's gaze toward the direction she pointed out. The eyes hiding behind the windows belonged mostly to children. 0
