Chapter 76: The Dream of the Red Chamber (Part Five) 0

I had to admit, this lurking opponent was quite formidable. After being injured by the Demonic Needle, he was still able to emerge and disrupt my rescue plan. I rubbed my chin, puzzled about how this infiltrator had obtained the information regarding my intention to save Li Luwen, allowing him to accurately appear in the main corridor of the hospital to block me. 0

Li Luwen's attending physician arrived. After a thorough examination, the doctor concluded that she was fine and should wake up soon. 0

Before the doctor could leave, Li Luwen truly awakened. 0

Upon waking, she embraced her mother and burst into tears. 0

"Wenwen, don't cry. Your body is weak; it's not good for you to be too sad." 0

"Who are you...?" 0

"Wenwen, this is your lifesaver, Master Ma, and they are all your friends here to help you." 0

As Li Luwen looked at each person with her mother's introduction, her gaze dimmed when she saw Zhang Xian. She turned her head away and said, "She is not my friend." 0

"Wenwen, yes, I'm sorry. I was wrong," Zhang Xian said emotionally as she stepped forward and grasped Li Luwen's hand with a look of deep regret. 0

Li Luwen struggled several times but couldn't shake off Zhang Xian's grip. She had no choice but to turn her head away, allowing Zhang Xian to hold her hand without uttering another word. 0

Feeling disheartened, Zhang Xian eventually released Li Luwen's hand and stepped back awkwardly. 0

"Ahem, Wenwen, you should rest well. We'll discuss other matters later." 0

I exchanged glances with Qin Jian and Chi Xinrong, while Rongrong called Zhang Xian to step out of the ward. The attending physician, after giving a detailed set of instructions, also left. 0

The attending physician showed great respect towards Chi Xinrong, speaking sweetly and kindly: "Rong Jie, her condition is basically stable, which is quite strange. We originally thought she would end up in a vegetative state..." 0

Chi Xinrong seemed unimpressed by his flattery and interrupted him lightly, saying, "Alright, enough. If you have things to do, go ahead." 0

She dismissed the attending physician. 0

Qin Jian impatiently asked, "What do you mean by asking us to step out? Now we can ask who that person lurking in the shadows is; this way we can resolve the Fateful Path case." 0

"Do you think it's that easy to find out?" I propped my chin on my hand, pacing back and forth. "Li Luwen's health is very fragile. If we're not careful, something terrible could happen again..." 0

"So what do we do next?" 0

Zhang Xian was worried about Li Luwen's refusal and her well-being, while Chi Xinrong comforted her from the side. 0

No matter how hard Qin Jian and I racked our brains, we couldn't come up with a way to extract the information that Li Luwen was unwilling to discuss. This method had to be employed without harming her. 0

"Hypnosis!" 0

Qin Jian's suggestion of hypnosis was indeed a viable method; however, I was unsure who this Hypnosis Master he mentioned was. 0

"I don't remember his real name; I've only heard people call him Wild Ghost." 0

"Wild Ghost, what a peculiar name." 0

"The person known as Wild Ghost is quite strange; not just anyone can help him. He has to consider fate and the person’s words." 0

"Then let's get introduced." I suddenly didn't want Li Luwen to try hypnosis. Hypnosis was a risky method, and I wanted to explore her subconscious again. However, going in and out could lead to mutual destruction, and it would also deplete my Shouyang. 0

Some might wonder why entering someone else's consciousness would consume Shouyang. The answer to this question isn't difficult. 0

Entering another person's consciousness could potentially violate the natural order, leading to advanced or reversed memories. In such cases, it could result in a leak, which would be condemned. Another possibility is mutual destruction; if I entered Li Luwen's consciousness, it would directly affect her cognitive abilities. Either she would be under my control, or I would be controlled by her consciousness. I had already ventured into her subconscious once, and if I went again, it would drain her brain energy. While I could exit without issue, I might also become trapped within her damaged brain energy, leading to our doom. She would fall into a true Vegetative State, and I would be unable to escape, forever confined within her memories. 0

Just as Qin Jian and I were pondering how to elicit the unwilling thoughts from Li Luwen, her mother suddenly called out to us: "Wenwen seems to have something to say to you." 0

Seeing Li Luwen's Mother, I slapped my forehead in frustration: "How could I be so busy-minded? Li Luwen is in trouble, and her mother was the first to encounter that mysterious person. Why didn't we just ask her directly?" 0

"Is this your fault or mine?" 0

"Neither; we can't blame anyone. I'll go take a look." I entered the hospital room where Li Luwen was drinking water. Her mother stepped aside hurriedly upon seeing us, clearly intending to let us get closer to Li Luwen. 0

"Master Ma, Qin, I've remembered some things." Li Luwen coughed lightly and said to her mother, "Mom, my throat hurts. Can you find a doctor to prescribe something soothing for me?" 0

"Oh, alright! I'll go right away." 0

As Li Luwen's Mother was about to leave, I quickly called out, "Wait..." 0

Qin Jian looked puzzled. 0

I gestured for him to listen to what Li Luwen wanted to say and walked towards Li Luwen's Mother. 0

Just then, Li Luwen started coughing violently. 0

Her mother turned around, and Li Luwen said, "You need to hurry... cough... I feel so awful... cough..." 0

"Should I go instead?" Qin Jian offered, seeing how distressed Li Luwen was. 0

Li Luwen shook her head. I turned back to see her mother had already rushed out, so I had no choice but to abandon my plan of getting information from her mother and waited for her return. 0

Li Luwen's incessant coughing was concerning. Seeing this, Qin Jian ran out to find a doctor. 0

In the end, I was left alone in the hospital room. 0

Li Luwen continued to cough, unable to speak at all. I brought her a cup of water, signaling for her to take a sip. She obediently accepted the cup and took a small sip, but it only made her cough more violently. Suddenly, a streak of red spread in the water, and I was shocked. "Did you just cough up blood?" 0

"I feel unwell..." Li Luwen's voice was hoarse, and her complexion looked terrible; she seemed ready to lie down. 0

I quickly helped her settle back down just as Qin Jian rushed back in, looking flustered. "Lao Qi, something's wrong." 0

"What happened?" 0

"Come here..." Qin Jian waved at me, and I stepped outside. 0

A doctor and a nurse came in, and I pointed to Li Luwen. "She has a severe cough; can you take a look?" 0

I walked with Qin Jian to the corridor, and he whispered, "Li Luwen's mother has died." 0

I was stunned. How could this happen in such a short time? I asked, "Where is she?" 0

"Rescue efforts were unsuccessful; she suffered a major hemorrhage during the recording. The body is still in the emergency room. Do you want to see?" 0

"Yes." I replied absentmindedly, my mind in chaos. I had that one thought, wanting to start from Li Luwen's mother, but I never expected something like this would happen. "Who was watching her? Did she go out?" 0

"No one. You saw it; I went out to find a doctor and asked if the family of the patient had arrived. They all said they hadn't seen anyone. Then I heard a nurse calling for the attending physician to go to the emergency room because someone had been in an accident right at the hospital entrance." 0
