Chapter 090: Beautiful Snake (Part One) 0

"No, we're not going home just yet; let's go somewhere else." I thought as we walked. Everything that had happened was so strange, like a dream that felt like it spanned a lifetime. Were we dead? I didn't dare voice the thought, fearing it would frighten Mi. 0

The only proof that we were still alive, that this wasn't some surreal dream, was the solid ground beneath our feet, the fragrant mountain breeze carrying the scent of flowers and earth, which felt incredibly real. 0

Baymax was a far cry from our nighttime journey; the pace was noticeably slower and fatigue set in easily. Once we had the chance to sit down, we were reluctant to move again. 0

After much effort, we finally spotted the cave, and an inexplicable tension gripped my heart. I held Mi's hand, which felt slick with sweat from our nervousness and exertion. 0

The cave loomed darkly before us, like a gaping mouth waiting for prey to throw itself in. We felt like that prey, and for a moment, I had the urge to retreat. But could we really just turn back after everything we had been through in this wild place? Wasn't that a bit cowardly? 0

I had one pressing thought: I wanted to find out how the Soul Stone ended up in my hands. I was also deeply skeptical about what I had heard back there. Those "people" mentioned a Long Worm—could it be the giant python that attacked us? What connection did this Soul Stone have with the python? 0

"Brother Qi, do we really have to go in?" 0

Mi was even more anxious than I was. She looked up at the cave's entrance and cautiously scanned the surroundings, her face flushed and glistening with sweat. 0

"Mi, follow my lead." I cupped my hands around my mouth and stood on a large rock halfway up the mountain, shouting down into the valley, "Ahhh... it's great to be alive!" My voice echoed back; it truly felt good to be alive. 0

Mi smiled shyly and mimicked me, shouting towards another direction, "Ahhh... it's great to be alive!" 0

This was our way of relieving stress. 0

After she shouted, Mi relaxed completely and burst into laughter, giving me a thumbs-up. "Brother Qi, that was great." 0

"Of course," I replied. It was still early; as long as we moved quickly after checking out the Strange Mountain's python cave, we could return the same way. Then we could figure out how to get back to the Funeral Home. Just thinking about the Funeral Home made my heart ache. 0

That fat guy really had lost his mind; he had gone so far as to drive me away again. 0

Reaching the cave entrance wasn't difficult; following the footprints led us closer quickly. 0

The entrance was cluttered with fallen weeds and some unidentifiable plants, confirming one thing: what had happened to us was real, and there indeed was a terrifying giant python inside this cave. 0

This was the legendary python cave of Strange Mountain. 0

The giant python could also transform into a stunning beauty; just thinking about it made me chuckle, but as I recalled the details, the laughter faded away. In my dream, there indeed appeared a breathtakingly beautiful woman dressed in a gray-brown silk shirt. Wasn't that the same color as the python's colorful scales? 0

The thought of that enchanting woman sent chills down my spine, leaving me feeling cold all over, as if something had been taken from me. 0

Standing at the cave entrance, I felt a chilling breeze. 0

"Brother Qi, should we just leave?" 0

"It's fine. You stay here; I'll be out soon." 0

Neither of our phones had any signal. Her phone had long since run out of battery, and mine was down to three bars. I shook my phone as I stepped into the cave. Looking back at Mi, she waved her hand nervously at me. 0

I stepped onto the gravelly stones inside, where I could still see disturbing bloodstains on the ground. Then I heard faint moans; upon hearing them, I became alert. Logically, there should only be that giant python in the cave—how could there be anyone else? 0

I was unarmed; if some creature jumped out at me, it would be disastrous. 0

With that thought firmly in mind, I hesitated and dared not go further. 0

Just then, I heard a cry for help from within: "Help me..." 0

Something felt off; why did that voice sound so familiar? 0

I quickly shouted, "Who's in there?" As soon as I called out, silence enveloped the cave. 0

Could it be that I misheard? Doubting myself, I cautiously took a few steps forward and faintly heard the sound of dripping water. Ahead was an opening where droplets formed strings and fell into a pool. When I looked back, I realized I had strayed far from the entrance and Mi. A sense of panic began to rise within me; suddenly, I didn't want to approach the pool anymore. 0

As I turned to head back, my mind was racing with thoughts about how important it was to return safely with Mi. Clarifying those questions would be pointless now. Just as I turned around, the cries for help from deep within the silent cave grew louder. 0

"Brother Qi, help me." Hearing that voice left me stunned; wasn't that Han Mi's voice? She was supposed to be waiting for me outside the cave! Surely I must have misheard; I told myself this and prepared to leave without paying any attention to those cries. 0

"Brother Qi, please help me! I'm begging you!" Each plea pierced my heart with an irresistible allure, filling me with a heavy sorrow that seemed impossible to shake off. 0

Without thinking twice, I turned around and ran toward her. 0

She stretched her arms straight out towards me as I entered, breathing heavily as if she were about to suffocate at any moment. Lying on the ground in a sprawled position, her clothes were tattered and stained with spots of blood, yet the colors and texture of the fabric could still be faintly discerned, resembling the brownish, hidden patterns of a giant python's skin. 0

The thought that this garment was made from the skin of a giant python sent a chill racing up my spine, spreading recklessly throughout my body. I felt an unprecedented coldness; I had always heard rumors of pythons transforming into beautiful women, but I never expected to witness it firsthand in the form of my beloved. 0

Unfortunately, even though my Demon Eyes had not yet recovered, I still possessed the ability to see through her disguise. I sneered and said, "You are not Han Mi." 0

The figure on the ground, pretending to be Han Mi, put on a pitiful act, pushing her two fleshy mounds forward with tears streaming down her face. "Brother Qi, do you not remember the moment we were together? Have you forgotten your vow to protect me for a lifetime? Have you forgotten..." 0

"Hahaha, you dead Snake Spirit, stop your theatrics. My beloved Han Mi is outside; she doesn't know about your vows. You are seeking your own demise; don't blame anyone else." I formed a thunderous hand seal and recited the Five Thunder Spell, determined to force her back into her true form this time. 0

Perhaps I was too overconfident; as the Five Thunder Spell was unleashed, the Snake Spirit taunted me with a sly smile. "Brother Qi, come on now. I miss you; we are one and the same. You are me, and I am you." Her voice was so sultry it sent chills down my spine. Seeing her exaggeratedly seductive appearance ignited my fury; I couldn't reach her because I lacked one crucial element—time. 0

In this place devoid of light, where neither sun nor stars could shine, I could not merge with the earth. The Five Thunder Spell had no effect here; I needed to take her outside. Under the sunlight, I refused to believe that the Five Thunder Spell wouldn't destroy her. 0
