Chapter 089: Supernatural Growth (Fifteen) 0

"Zi, is pretending to be asleep really a good idea?" 0

Hearing the voice, I joyfully threw off the covers and shouted, "Qin Uncle!" Qin Ye looked radiant, hands behind his back, tilting his head with a charming smile, his words teasing, "Zi, why do I feel like we have a grudge? Wherever I go, you follow." 0

"No, no, I absolutely did not mean to stalk you. It's just... it's complicated, Qin Uncle. What is this place?" I was genuinely curious about how Qin Ye ended up here. The discussions I overheard about the Long Worm and humans made me wonder if Qin Ye was not human after all. 0

Either the people discussing were referring to Qin Ye himself. 0

But that didn't make sense! Qin Ye was capable; he wouldn't need protection. From what those people said about throwing that human to the Long Worm, it was clearly me. After all, something happened to me involving Supernatural Growth, I was expelled by Fatty, then encountered a giant python, leading to some terrifying events. 0

I vaguely remembered the giant python chasing me and a loud shout before everything went blank. It was only natural that I was curious about my surroundings. After a moment of silence, I held my breath and focused on waiting for Qin Ye's response. 0

Qin Ye paused for a moment, his eyes darting around before he smiled and spoke in a nonchalant tone, "Don't ask what this place is; just get up and come with me." 0

"Where to?" 0

"To clean up your mess." 0

"My mess?" 0

"Yes! The trouble caused by your Soul Stone—are you expecting me to clean it up?" 0

I recalled that the Soul Stone had been sent to the cave by Fatty. What did Qin Ye mean by mentioning the Soul Stone? 0

"Alright, enough of that. We need to get out of here quickly; Mi is waiting for you outside." Hearing Mi's name made me perk up instantly. I quickly tidied up and dashed towards the door. 0

I ran towards the door, and soon the light around me dimmed, the room becoming shadowy. I turned back to look for Qin Ye, but he was gone, as if he had never existed. "Qin Uncle! Qin Uncle!" I shouted, but no one answered, and panic set in. 0

Thinking of Mi, I dashed towards the door without hesitation, flinging it open. To my shock, a stunning woman stood silently at the entrance, calling out, "Brother Qi..." She resembled Han Mi in appearance, but her attire was completely different. With blood-red lips and a long neck adorned with jingling gold jewelry, she wore a slate-gray gown with hidden floral patterns that split open, revealing her fair and slender legs as she ran. Her outstretched arms were exaggeratedly wide, as if she wanted to embrace everything around her. 0

When did Mi change from her simple style to such extravagant attire? Just as I was bewildered, another voice called out from the other side. 0

"Brother Qi, she is not me; I am Mi." 0

It was indeed Mi, standing to my right as I stepped outside. She looked just like before—dressed plainly yet elegantly charming. I halted abruptly and changed direction to run towards this Mi. 0

At that moment, the enchanting woman let out a sharp, piercing laugh and suddenly transformed into a colorful giant python, its forked tongue flicking as it lunged towards Mi. 0

"Mi..." I screamed in desperation, my legs propelling me forward as my hands reached out instinctively. The cries of "Brother Qi! Brother Qi!" echoed in my ears. I struggled and yelled until I finally woke up in a cold sweat. 0

Opening my eyes, I saw Mi with tear-streaked cheeks staring at me anxiously, gripping my hands tightly. 0

"Ah... it was just a dream?" I blinked and surveyed my surroundings. It seemed we were in a dilapidated house. The musty smell inside was completely different from the house in my dream. 0

"Brother Qi, I'm so glad you're awake; you scared me to death just now." 0

"Where are we?" 0

Mi looked around the room and focused intently on me. "We're in a dilapidated house. I woke up here and then saw you; there was no one else." 0

No one? But I clearly dreamt of Qin Ye and that old man—the old man had an ethereal presence and even had a fox with him. I glanced at my palm; the fox was resting there, its tears dripping down and merging into my fingerprints. 0

"Brother Qi, look at this." Mi handed me a scent pouch marked with the character for Qin. I took the pouch and pondered for a moment. Could this be something belonging to Qin Ye? I reached into the scent pouch to explore further. 0

What I pulled out surprised me greatly. 0

"A stone?" 0

"Yes, it's a stone. A gift from a friend." The Soul Stone had returned to its rightful owner. I wondered how that giant python was doing now. 0

"How funny, someone actually gave you a stone as a gift." 0

To Mi, it might seem like an ordinary stone, but for me, this stone was my life. What puzzled me even more was that everything Mi and I had on us was gone; we were in perfect condition from head to toe. 0

The Dilapidated House, the Funeral Music, the old man, and Qin Ye all piqued my curiosity. I got up and walked out of the Dilapidated House with Mi. Suddenly, Mi pointed to a new grave: "Brother Qi, look." 0

The wind rustled the grave's offerings. I looked at the inscription on the tombstone: Hu Cheng's beloved wife's grave. 0

Hu—sounds like "fox." 0

Hu Cheng must be a fox spirit! 0

Regardless of what it was, I had Mi kneel beside me at the new grave. We scooped up a handful of fresh soil and bowed in gratitude. 0

A path overgrown with Thorns lay ahead. During our escape last night, it hadn't seemed like much, but now, Baymax truly felt irritating. The Thorns were thick, and there was no sign of life around; the tangled weeds beneath our feet were the traces we left behind in our frantic run. 0

Wait! 0

What did I see? There was blood on a patch of weeds. The blood had dried overnight in the wind, but my keen sense of smell could tell whether it belonged to a human or some cold-blooded creature. 0

I extended my finger and scraped a bit of the congealed blood between my fingers, bringing it to my nose for a sniff. Hmm—bitter and unmistakably snake blood. It seemed that the giant python that tried to swallow us had been injured badly. I smiled with delight and turned to Mi, who was staring at me with wide eyes filled with curiosity: "Let's go; I'll take you to a place." 0

"Oh." 0

The road was difficult to navigate, and I had no idea how we ended up in this place last night. Looking at Mi, she seemed uninjured; perhaps her wounds had healed completely after last night. Unable to help myself, I turned back to look at the new grave and the dilapidated courtyard. "Huh! It's gone." 0

"What’s gone?" Mi asked in surprise. 0

"The house, the new grave." In the place where the house and the new grave used to be, there were only some tangled plants. I had witnessed many strange events before, but this scene left me utterly dumbfounded. 0

Mi followed my gaze and exclaimed in disbelief, "Wow, it really is gone." 0

I clasped my fists in that direction and said, "I cannot express my gratitude enough. The kindness you have shown us will always be remembered by me, Ma Qi. I will find a way to repay you." Seeing my serious demeanor, Mi had a million questions she wanted to ask but held them back, silently watching me finish everything before following suit in silence. 0

Using a wooden stick to clear the path, I hacked away at the thorny weeds, creating a way for us to walk. With a furrowed brow, Mi finally couldn’t hold back any longer and asked, "Brother Qi, now that you're better, should we go back?" 0
