The Northern Expeditionary Force had taken a detour and had already traveled several dozen kilometers.
Glen found Rosa. "Are we really just going to leave Brother Xia behind like this?"
"That was his own request," Rosa replied coldly. "If you want to go keep him company, feel free."
Glen was taken aback, his face turning awkward. Being caught between the two was truly a troublesome situation.
When Glen returned to his team with a sigh, Zhao Xin looked at him with concern. "How did it go? What about Rosa?"
"Same as always. I think it's pointless to try and persuade her; she definitely won't listen now," Glen shook his head. "Besides, the situation itself is highly conflicting, and neither side is likely to compromise."
"What should we do then? We can't just let him face the enemies in Luoyang City alone," Zhao Xin frowned.
Just as the two men were at a loss, Zhi Xin chimed in, "Maybe he really can handle it?"
Glen and Zhao Xin turned to Zhi Xin, their expressions resembling those of people looking at a lunatic.
However, Zhi Xin paid no mind to their expressions. Since Shasha claimed to be a Demigod, neither humans nor aliens could harm a god; a Demigod was still a god, and gods were omnipotent.
Shasha wasn't all-powerful, but all of her abilities were born for battle.
For an entire year, she had been comprehending and mastering her own powers, progressing from the Big Dipper Fist level A to A+. Meanwhile, Hiei's demon power and muscle armor couldn't be upgraded just yet; they could only improve in proficiency for the time being.
Conserving energy was essential for infiltrating Luoyang City to rescue Reina.
And that moment had finally arrived!
In the sky above, a Great Cross Ship slowly emerged from a wormhole, hovering over Luoyang City before gradually descending.
The Third Commander of the Tao Tie Legion, along with his flagship, landed on Earth, bringing along the imprisoned Reina. Although she had been relocated, it seemed more like a ploy to attract someone to rescue her.
Reina lay unconscious, her body encased in Dark Alloy Armor and trapped within a Device that restricted and isolated stellar energy.
Dozens of Mechanical Gluttons transported the Device from the flagship under General's escort down to the ground. Once the Device landed, the person in charge within Luoyang City connected it with a group of Wolf Clan warriors to complete the initial handover.
The Device required constant input of isolating energy; otherwise, it would become ineffective. Thus, they dared not slack off.
Dressed in white armor adorned with metallic wings, the Stag, towering at least two meters tall, descended.
The officer stepped forward and performed the unique military salute of the Tao Tie, respectfully saying, "Your Excellency, the Stag, your presence graces us."
"After spending these months on Earth, you may not have learned much else, but you certainly have mastered the art of flattery," the Stag remarked with a hint of teasing. This was one of its old subordinates, diligent in their work and without any notable mistakes thus far. Otherwise, it wouldn't have entrusted the oversight of Sunlight to this individual. "Alright, Naxie, tell me how things stand now."
Naxie's expression turned somewhat bitter upon hearing this. Not long ago, the Northern Expeditionary Force had taken a detour toward North Star, and Luoyang City had gradually lost its original significance; they were struggling to hold back the advancing Northern Expeditionary Force.
"Your Excellency, the Stag, here's what happened..."
As Naxie recounted the events, the Stag's anger became evident. "So why are you still stationed in Luoyang City? Your mission is to halt the Northern Expeditionary Force's advance to prevent them from reinforcing North Star!"
Naxie's blue skin glistened with cold sweat. "I am very sorry, Your Excellency, the Stag."
The Stag remained silent for a long moment before slowly saying, "Well, since it has already happened, there's nothing we can do about it. Let's see how many Super Soldiers we can lure out this time and whether that fellow will show up."
Upon hearing this, Naxie's eyes widened in surprise. It was only now that he understood the true purpose behind relocating Sunlight.
Bait!
Indeed, it was bait. The Sunlight, which had lost its utility value and was being returned to Earth instead of Solaris Star, was essentially meant to attract Super Soldiers to their demise.
However, despite all calculations, they had not anticipated that most people had already left—only Shasha remained. Yet they felt fortunate that it was Shasha; among the Super Soldiers, there was no one they hated more than Shasha.
Infiltrating Luoyang City and evading countless watchful eyes was no easy task. Now fully mechanized, Luoyang City seemed too backward for the Tao Tie; they would rather spend time building than compromise on their standards.
If they were eventually expelled from Earth, the advanced technology they left behind could bring significant changes and progress to the planet. Thus, Shasha resolved to avoid destroying these advancements during any future rescue operations.
Although Tao Tie patrols were frequent and systematic, for Shasha—thanks to Liquid Snake's infiltration abilities—it felt like entering a realm devoid of obstacles. Avoiding unnecessary battles was paramount; if discovered, it would lead to an all-out siege on the city.
Unfortunately, at this stage, Shasha still couldn't master spatial transfer. This realization sparked new frustration towards the System; if only he could utilize those Marvel abilities acquired in the main world, things wouldn't be so troublesome.
It should be noted that Red Devil's abilities were incredibly useful—not only mind control but also spatial transfer.
Well then, once back in the Marvel Universe, he would study these matters further. For now, he needed to locate Reina.
Luoyang City was vast; finding one person was akin to searching for a needle in a haystack. However, Reina's target was significant enough that she would likely be imprisoned in an important location—something anyone would deduce under normal logic.
Shasha was well aware of Reina's abilities. Since Tao Tie had imprisoned her, it must have used some special limiting Device; otherwise, how could they possibly restrain Sunlight?
Thus, the first place Shasha intended to search was the Ancient City Building, which had now been transformed into the command center of Tao Tie in Luoyang City.
At the front, there was a group of Mechanical Gluttons and Wolf Clan guards, and in front of the entrance stood a security Device resembling an identity verification system. Naturally, it was impossible to enter through the main gate.
Going around to the back door, Shasha still encountered a group of guards, with no passage available.
For a moment, Shasha found himself at a loss.
Just when he didn't know how to enter the building, he accidentally discovered a ventilation duct that had not been sealed off. Surprised yet hesitant, he squeezed himself inside.
Meanwhile, within the command center of the building, a stag sensing the heat signature let out a cold laugh.
