As Blade left the Pan-American Building, he already held the Serum in his hand and had learned Daken's current location.
Unfortunately, Shasha's tracker had indeed captured Quinn's every move, but that guy was clever enough not to seek out Daken; instead, he hid away, which undoubtedly thwarted his previous plans. Fortunately, Gottano was willing to cooperate.
Just before getting into the car, Shasha suddenly stopped and said to Blade, who was already inside, "Let's split up. You go administer the Serum to Jian Kailin while I investigate Daken's lair. How does that sound?"
Blade thought for a moment and then nodded; this was indeed the best option.
Watching Blade drive away, Shasha's gaze flickered as he received a Side Quest from the System.
"Side Quest Two: Bloodline Bible."
"An ancient vampire possesses a Bloodline Bible that can make vampires immortal and grant them control over blood power."
"Obtain the Bloodline Bible and thwart Daken's plan to become a Blood Demon."
"Completion reward: One beginner extraction, 00 Energy Points."
This mission was too good to pass up; Shasha knew exactly where Daken had hidden the Bloodline Bible.
In a bar run by Japanese owners, the database containing information about vampire history was stored in the kitchen refrigerator, along with twelve missing Bloodline Bibles.
Of course, there was also a disgusting creature inside—a 500-year-old monster weighing 800 pounds named Pearl.
Shasha certainly wouldn’t choose to storm in like Blade; that would only alert Daken that he was there, practically inviting him to come and catch him.
Activating his stealth skills, he decided to sneak in through the back kitchen since there were hardly any guards there.
Opening the refrigerator, he immediately saw a pile of data analyzers. Shasha’s gaze passed over them and focused on what lay inside. Although it was just the tip of the iceberg, part of a human body still caught his eye.
"It hasn't been analyzed yet; we're missing an important piece. It will take about two hours to crack."
As he slowly approached, he could hear the conversation between Pearl and Daken. Shasha did not rashly speak up until the connection between Pearl and Daken was interrupted, at which point he finally stepped out from the shadows.
"Who’s there?" Pearl, unable to move, asked warily.
What would Shasha do? Ask a question? Naturally not.
A bullet whizzed through the air and drilled into Pearl's forehead, containing a garlic extract with a concentration of 80%.
In almost an instant, the 800-pound man turned to ash, and Shasha received a notification in his mind indicating that the mission was complete.
With a slight smirk, he wrapped up the twelve Bloodline Bibles and left the database.
This operation was executed without anyone noticing. Daken probably never dreamed that what he desired most had already slipped away. If he knew, he would likely go insane.
However, Shasha didn’t care; if everything went smoothly tonight, that guy would turn to ashes just like Pearl.
On the top floor of a private office building in San Francisco, this place had been transformed into a private entertainment venue.
A massive swimming pool was filled with men and women swaying to the music, drinking and mingling with one another.
From Shasha's vantage point on the top floor, he did not see Daken's figure. However, Quinn finally made an appearance. It seemed that the tracker had not yet been discovered by Beta; that guy's injuries had mostly healed, indicating he had drained quite a bit of blood during this time.
Before long, Blade arrived at the surveillance location based on the information Shasha provided. The two quietly observed while also being mindful of their surroundings to see what could be utilized.
After a long pause, Blade slowly said, "If I could deploy fighter jets, I would bomb that place."
Making jokes in a serious tone was no different from telling cold jokes; at least Shasha’s expression was quite strange. "I never expected you to crack a joke. You should really think about how to deal with them."
Blade turned his head and looked at Shasha with a serious expression. "I'm not joking; I actually have the authority to call in fighter jets, but it requires approval from the military."
Shasha paused upon hearing this and suddenly recalled Blade's other identity; it seemed that this method was not impossible after all. However, was he really planning to seek help? "Do whatever you want."
Blade stared at Shasha's face, and after not noticing anything unusual, he turned his head away. Just now, he had been testing to see if Shasha was one of them, and it seemed that he was not. The last trace of doubt in his heart vanished.
Shasha was unaware that Blade had just been probing him. Even if he had known, it wouldn't have mattered, as he was not part of the organization as Blade suspected.
Time was drawing near to the hour, and Blade finally confirmed the plan. "Whistler should be arriving soon. He will place explosives on the second-to-last floor, and then you and I will break into the top floor. If we can take down Daken, we won't need to use the explosives. If we can't, then the explosives will be our trump card!"
Upon hearing this, Shasha looked down at the pedestrians below and then glanced at the occupancy of the floors, his expression suddenly changing. "Are you crazy? Do you have any idea how many casualties this could cause? And do you think the American government will let you off after making such a big commotion?"
Blade showed little emotional reaction to Shasha's words. Instead, he asked, "Do you know how many people would be turned into vampires if Daken stays alive? How many would become their food?"
Shasha was at a loss for words because he truly did not know; he only sensed that the number was likely significant.
"The only way to end this is to deal with that guy. So what if there are some sacrifices? You need to understand what a hero is. A hero sacrifices himself to save a greater good!"
