The skills of gangsters are not extraordinary; they are just a bit stronger than ordinary people.
Shasha, inheriting the abilities of Liquid Snake, found it incredibly easy to deal with these thugs. She quietly infiltrated the room and knocked them out one by one. After repeating this several times, she arrived at the last room at the end of the corridor.
"So you failed and didn't find the target?"
"Yes, that guy is too skilled; we were no match for him."
"That's not an excuse for your failure, buddy. You better start thinking about how to face BSS's wrath!"
"Why is that guy so important? Why does BSS care so much?"
"He holds evidence of BSS's money laundering. If he reveals it, it will have a significant impact on BSS. You know our front is supposed to be a legitimate investment company!"
Shasha was initially prepared to sneak in, but upon hearing this, she suddenly had a brilliant idea. There were many ways to create trouble for Jin Bing, and the guy they mentioned was one of them. Coincidentally, she knew where he was.
After some thought, Shasha decided there was no need to listen any longer and slowly exited the hideout.
Since being sent home by Shasha, the drunk man had no idea what had happened. All he knew was that the money in his wallet was gone. He struggled to recall everything from last night; it seemed someone had taken his money and then brought him back?
The drunk man's name was Chris. He used to be one of Jin Bing's subordinates, responsible for laundering money for him. He betrayed Jin Bing not out of newfound conscience but because he felt he hadn't received his due benefits.
Of course, he also knew that Jin Bing would never let him go, so he decided to leave that night.
By the time he finished packing his things, it was already noon. Chris called his wife back home and told her that if she didn't hear from him by tonight, she should make his information public.
After taking care of everything, Chris tightened his clothes and opened the door.
As he stepped out, he suddenly felt something was off; it was too quiet. The couple next door had already started arguing at this time because the husband often drank and gambled.
Chris had to be very cautious; he did not leave recklessly but chose to stay put.
However, some things could not be avoided just by being careful.
The sound of the door being twisted open echoed repeatedly, and at that moment, a dozen gang members emerged from all directions of the room. Leading them was Richard, an old acquaintance of Shasha, who approached Chris with a playful smile on his face.
"Finding you wasn't easy, Chris Edmund."
Chris scanned the gang members surrounding him and couldn't help but smile wryly. "I knew that guy wouldn't let me leave here easily." He paused, his expression suddenly turning fierce. "But don't think that just because you've caught me, everything will go smoothly. I've already arranged everything; if anything happens to me, those documents will be made public!"
Richard was taken aback for a moment and then frowned deeply. He hadn't expected this guy to have such a thorough plan. Now they couldn't act against him and had to ensure his safety.
But as a mutant, especially one with such practical abilities, Richard was not afraid of Chris's threat. He waved his hand, signaling his men to keep an eye on Chris, and then entered Chris's room himself. Using his ability to replay scenes, he began to recount everything Chris had done moments ago. After a while, a smile appeared on his face.
When Chris saw Richard walk out of the room with a smile, he had a very bad premonition.
"I know you hid the documents at your old home. I've already sent my men there; your plans have fallen through, my dear Mr. Chris."
Seeing the mockery on Richard's face, Chris felt despondent. All his calculations had ultimately come to nothing; he could already foresee his impending fate and slowly closed his eyes.
Richard raised his chin in response and had his men step forward with guns aimed at Chris's head.
"You should have known the consequences of betraying us, so go peacefully!"
In the next second, the sound of a trigger being pulled echoed as a bullet was about to be fired.
But at that moment, a bullet whizzed in from the window at the end of the corridor, causing the gun aimed at Chris's head to fall to the ground!
Richard and his men quickly reacted, turning around to draw their guns. However, the opponent fired several shots, taking down multiple people. In an instant, a single person managed to suppress the firepower of the entire group.
Chris, seeing that he was ignored, quietly slipped away, feeling fortunate.
The gunfight soon came to an end. As Richard lay on the ground with two gunshot wounds, he looked at the figure that had just climbed down from the window, his pupils contracting in shock. With a bitter smile, he realized this was none other than the person who had captured him before.
Shasha glanced at Richard with pity before knocking him unconscious. She then made a call to report the incident; these gang members were no longer of any use.
Chris felt incredibly lucky to have encountered a gang fight that allowed him to escape unharmed.
However, just as Chris was about to flee the apartment, a figure blocked his path.
"Hey buddy, I saved you. Aren't you going to say thank you?"
