Scrapyard was a landfill, a filthy place. A towering fence surrounded a vast area spanning several miles. 0

A tall iron frame resembling a crane loomed in the air, rotating to survey the surroundings from its elevated position. Xiao Qiang found the structure somewhat familiar. 0

On the iron frame was a small room. From a distance, a dark head occasionally peeked out of the window, scanning the area. 0

Fei Ren dared not show himself here; he merely shouted a warning to Xiao Qiang to be careful before hurriedly slipping away. As he left, he handed over his cigarettes and money. 0

Xiao Qiang hadn't taken a good whiff of cigarette smoke in a long time. He pulled one out and brought it to his nose, closing his eyes slightly. The gesture resembled that of an addict who hadn't had a fix in ages. 0

With a cigarette dangling from his lips but not lit, he squinted at the house on the iron frame, recalling the events that had transpired since he first entered this place. It was clear without guessing that this was the forbidden area Han Ming had mentioned. Kabo Corporation falsely claimed this would be the base for NS 3rd generation, but it seemed they intended to bring old NS units here for disposal. 0

Could Fang Shanshan have been brought here by Serpent Woman? It seemed that aside from this place where she could act freely, all internal communications within Kabo Corporation's robotics division were under Rock's control. 0

When Fei Ren had received Fang Shanshan and him, they had chosen an area that was a blind spot, unreachable by Rock. Otherwise, how could he still be alive and kicking? 0

Throwing away the cigarette butt, he drew out his dagger, preparing to sneak into the fenced area... 0

A sharp screech of brakes halted Xiao Qiang's steps. Turning around, he saw old cop Zhong Xuan and Han Ming, which made him wonder how they ended up here. 0

Han Ming spotted Xiao Qiang leaning against the outer wall smoking and waved him over to talk. 0

Xiao Qiang approached and climbed into the police car. 0

Zhong Xuan remained silent, but Xiao Qiang sensed something was amiss. 0

Sure enough, Han Ming began recounting a strange incident that had occurred right in front of them. 0

Fang Shanshan's personal robot Nair had been brought back to the police station by Zhong Xuan in its torn state. It was purely coincidental; when Han Ming was looking for Xiao Qiang, he noticed Nair's remains discarded and decided to plug in the Bionic Core into her head before activating her remaining power. 0

Zhong Xuan hadn’t found Xiao Qiang and approached Han Ming when he saw him squatting near some scrap metal. He felt frustrated and swore to catch Xiao Qiang and give him a good beating. 0

As they chatted casually while walking toward another reception room, Han Ming unconsciously turned to look at Nair’s remains and told Zhong Xuan that he wanted to take her away. Just that casual glance startled him so much that the cigarette in his mouth fell. 0

Nair suddenly sat up at some point and began repairing her own damaged body, reconnecting her severed limbs one by one. Head, arms, legs—when they saw Nair, she was reattaching her lower leg. 0

"Where's Nair?" Xiao Qiang exclaimed in surprise. 0

"Behind you," Han Ming pointed to the back seat of Xiao Qiang's vehicle. 0

Xiao Qiang turned around. Sure enough, a complete and intact Female Robot sat upright in the rear seat. 0

"Oh my..." 0

"By the way, you mentioned that the burning robot is here?" Zhong Xuan finally asked. 0

"Yes, right here," Xiao Qiang confirmed with a nod. 0

"Then I need to pay a visit to the guards here." Zhong Xuan got out of the car and leaned back into the window, looking at Han Ming and Xiao Qiang. "Which one of you is coming with me?" 0

Inside the car, Xiao Qiang was voicing his concerns to Han Ming. Fang Shanshan could be somewhere in this vicinity, surrounded by many small houses. 0

"Han Ming, you should go with Zhong Xuan..." 0

They were not far from the Slum, but still had quite a distance to walk. Han Ming hesitated, reluctant to get out of the car. 0

"Fang Shanshan is going to be my future wife; it’s only right that I go save her, isn’t it?" 0

"You going out is best, but to untie a knot, you must find the person who tied it. The Serpent Woman's target is me; your presence won't help." 0

"Hey, are you two done stalling?" Zhong Xuan shouted angrily. 0

With no choice left, Han Ming got out of the car and followed Zhong Xuan toward the metal shed to visit the guards there. 0

Xiao Qiang got out with Nair to scout around the area. 0

"Damn it, I'm afraid of heights!" Zhong Xuan muttered under his breath as he continued forward. Han Ming supported him from behind. "Don’t worry; I’m fine," Zhong Xuan grumbled, revealing his true nature. He found himself caught in a conflict between good and evil, interests and authority. 0

The reality was evident; he had no choice but to come to this Beggar's Nest for evidence. "This is freaking Beggar's Nest—those lazy folks living off handouts. They treat this place like a paradise; who would have thought Kabo Corporation would develop this Beggar's Nest as a base?" 0

Han Ming was preoccupied with worries about Fang Shanshan's safety and had no extra thoughts to tease Zhong Xuan. Regardless of what he said, Han Ming nodded continuously like a loyal servant, obediently following behind. 0

Police arrived at the metal shed, and two burly Foreign Guards looked somewhat puzzled. Zhong Xuan presented his credentials. "Routine check; someone reported gunshots here last night." 0

The two dark-skinned foreigners were somewhat familiar with China. They spoke fluent Chinese and occasionally threw in local slang like "son of a turtle" and "diarrhea." 0

"Gunshots?" One of the burly men squinted, casting a challenging glance at the medium-built, pallid-skinned Han Ming. "Was it him who complained?" 0

Zhong Xuan shook his head. "It wasn't him..." 0

At that moment, another burly man suddenly raised his gun and aimed it at a beggar walking through the area, who was carrying a plastic bag. He fired repeatedly, "Kabo Corporation orders that anyone who steps in here is to be killed without mercy!" 0

The man firing the shots was bare-chested, his bulging muscles trembling intimidatingly. Zhong Xuan nervously swallowed. "What you're doing is a massacre of the innocent; it's not allowed on our territory." 0

"Hah, if you have any objections, take them up with the boss of Kabo. We're just doing our job for the money we were paid." 0

Talking to these brutish fellows was futile. Han Ming subtly reached out and tugged at Zhong Xuan's sleeve, signaling him to get to the point. 0

Zhong Xuan cleared his throat and shifted the unpleasant topic. "For safety's sake, I suggest one of you accompany me to check if there are any unusual situations in the rooms below." 0

They were police officers; despite their backing from Kabo Corporation, they still had to give some face, right? The two foreign men exchanged glances and silently divided their tasks. One continued monitoring everything in the room while the other followed Zhong Xuan downstairs to check on the situation in Ground. As they descended, the old fellow moved cautiously, step by step; he was afraid of heights! He slowly stepped down what appeared to be a rusted iron ladder while cursing inwardly: Damn it, why climb so high for no reason? 0

Han Ming remained silent, feeling heavy-hearted as he wondered how Xiao Qiang was faring now. 0
