Skeleton Mutant exhibited an organized evolution, taking on a grotesque form. Its deep-set eye sockets and opaque eyeballs hinted at a cunning and sinister nature. The nostrils and sharp teeth were exposed, and its shrill cries pierced the air. The Wings clung tightly to its back, covered in uneven Capillary networks. Its claws bore barbs, yet this did not hinder its ability to grasp weapons to attack humans. After evolving, its toes sprouted barbs, allowing for agile climbing and hanging. 0

The air around Xiao Qiang was thick with the pungent Blood Stench. This was the bloody scent of death Mutants that confused humans; blood was the source that triggered the group evolution of Skeleton Mutants to attack them. Human blood was warm and viscous, containing various elements needed by the Mutants. Thus, they would stop at nothing, cold-blooded and devoid of mercy, attacking them countless times. 0

Wen Kai's injured leg dripped continuously with blood. Although the two were hiding in a shadowy corner where they wouldn’t attract attention, the scent of blood still drew the Mutants, their Wings vibrating as they flitted about. 0

Xiao Qiang protected Wen Kai, retreating while fending off several attacks, pushing back the Skeleton Mutants that swarmed from above and clung to the walls of the pipes. 0

As they took a brief respite, Xiao Qiang used a Steel Bar to prod a Skeleton Mutant's corpse for careful analysis. His tattered clothing had been torn into strips to bandage Wen Kai's wounds. 0

He bent down, concern etched on his face as he looked at Wen Kai… 0

The latter was also looking at Xiao Qiang, not so much at him as at the Chain that had fallen from his chest. 0

Xiao Qiang believed that Wu Yi, Li Hang, and Lin Yu should be safe now. As long as they were safe, if Wen Kai could hold on, those outside would surely find a way to rescue them both. 0

Surrounding them were numerous Winged Skeleton Mutants. After repeated failed assaults, the Mutants grew increasingly cautious and cunning; after a flurry of activity, they gradually quieted down. 0

Their behavior now resembled that of bats, living in colonies, either hanging or clinging as they waited moment by moment. They awaited the death of their encircled prey before rushing in to feast on their flesh and blood. 0

Xiao Qiang was exhausted; despite his fatigue, he struggled to keep his eyes wide open, fighting against the urge to close them. Time and again he shut out the outside world, tugging at his eyelids with all his might until they turned red. Hunger and weariness felt like demons slowly invading his consciousness. 0

For one last time, he glanced at Wen Kai, who smiled back at him with an air of feigned ease… 0

The atmosphere was chaotic; overwhelming sounds engulfed him—the creaking of wheels, women’s screams during labor pains, doctors and nurses offering comfort… 0

Reincarnation Card… an unknown world… saving them. A murmuring voice felt like that of Eye Patch Man, so close yet distant. It leaned closer to his ear, repeating something over and over… 0

“Child, wake up! You can’t sleep; wake up quickly! You bear a heavy responsibility…” The deep voice came from a strange space—distant… He wanted to move, but an endless force of confinement made Xiao Qiang feel as if he were sinking deeper. 0

Bubbles began to rise around him; aquatic creatures floated like grains at the bottom layer filled with the scent of death. The sight of white bones… He shook his head in an attempt to break free from this bizarre allure; powerless yet triggering a series of bubbles. It felt both real and ethereal… 0

Suddenly feeling tightness around his neck followed by a jolt throughout his body, he opened his eyes wide—seeing that Wen Kai was gripping the Chain that had fallen from his chest. 0

The latter was taken aback, as if blaming him for waking up so quickly. "I..." 0

Xiao Qiang looked down at Wen Kai's hand, which he still didn't want to let go of, and asked in surprise, "What do you want to do?" 0

"This Chain belongs to all the members of the Fourth Group. Why is it that only you have this Chain?" Wen Kai questioned assertively. 0

Xiao Qiang was puzzled and looked at him in confusion, asking, "What's wrong with you? Chain? This is just a broken thing I've worn since I was little." 0

"Don't play tricks in front of me. What did Old Eye Mask tell you? You two must be up to something. If not, why are you hiding it?" 0

"Wen Kai, wake up! Do you understand where we are right now?" Xiao Qiang said in a low voice. 0

"Alpaca, don't give me any pretentious theories," Wen Kai roared. Heartless, he yanked the Chain into his hands and laughed, "Haha! The Chain is a secret, the secret to finding the Nano Immortal Robot." 0

Xiao Qiang struggled and then realized that at some point, his elbow had been tied to a pipe by Wen Kai. "Wen Kai, let me go quickly; it's dangerous here." 0

Wen Kai slowly stood up and mischievously blinked at him. "Shh! Survival of the fittest; that's the law of the jungle." Saying this, he stuffed the Chain into his pocket and limped away from Xiao Qiang. 0

As he walked away with a smug smile, he pondered what kind of lies he would concoct to deceive Lin Yu into trusting him when they met later... 0

Hidden in the shadows were countless Winged Skeleton Mutants, greedily staring at the blood-red prey moving on the ground like seagulls soaring over an endless sea looking towards a new continent. 0

Suddenly, a gust of sinister wind swept through... One by one, Mutants with enormous Wings swooped down towards Wen Kai... 0

Xiao Qiang desperately rubbed against the bindings on his elbow while listening to the frequent screams outside and Wen Kai's cries for help that pierced his heart like knives. It hurt so much that tears welled up in his eyes as he rubbed his elbow even more fiercely... 0

Lin Yu was running; she heard commotion not far away. The noise was loud, like many people whispering... When she finally reached the scene, she was stunned by what she saw. 0

A large group of Winged Skeleton Mutants was attacking a human who was already bloodied and mangled... A heart-wrenching pain surged through her as she shouted, "Beasts..." Then she entered a state of focus, calming herself... Ignoring the chaotic sounds around her. She moved gracefully, spinning without wind; her eyes darkened as an overwhelming mental force erupted... Boom... 0

The massive wave of mental energy resembled a balloon filled with hydrogen; after it exploded, every cubic meter of space carried immense impact and lethality, shattering the flesh and bodies of the attacking Skeleton Mutants. Blood splattered everywhere as the wave continued to expand in circles, unstoppable wherever it went... 0

The chef who arrived later was stunned in place, feeling his skin twitch inexplicably. He had no choice but to step back repeatedly until he finally grabbed onto a thick pipe to steady himself. 0

Xiao Qiang finally broke free from Shu Bo and rushed out, searching for the source of the sound. Without hesitation, he dashed into the psychic wave's radius, shielding the barely conscious Wen Kai and instinctively lifting him up. 0

The cook's eyes bulged like marbles. He couldn't understand why he couldn't stand within that strange circle while this person seemed unaffected as he attempted to save another. 0

The sound of the Skeleton Mutant's body tearing apart echoed like fabric being ripped, dull and unsettling. Blood painted the ground, a scene of chaos and horror. 0

The ferocious Winged Skeleton Mutant was instantly reduced to a shattered mass. Lin Yu, along with countless swirling dust particles and debris, landed on the ground, her deep brown gaze returning to normal in an instant. 0

She looked at Xiao Qiang, then at Wen Kai in his arms. "Is he okay?" 0

"He's still breathing; we need to get him out of here quickly." As he spoke, he suddenly noticed another person had joined them. "Who is he?" 0

Lin Yu turned to the cook. "A cannibal." 0

"Wait... no! I swear I won't eat human flesh anymore! Of course, I won't eat you either," the cook stammered, desperately trying to explain himself. Realizing how that last part sounded, he nervously added, "I... don't have the ability to eat you." 0

Lin Yu dismissed the pathetic scum with a wave of her hand and said to Xiao Qiang, "Ground has Wu Yi and Li Hang waiting for us. Let's move quickly..." 0
