"By the way, how many rounds are we going to play?" A Guan asked. "We can't just keep going endlessly, right?"
"Let's start with five rounds. Anyway, it should be fine. After we're done, we can go get ice cream," came the reply.
"But... what if something happens?" Kobayashi asked timidly in a low voice.
"Well... if anyone notices something off, just stand still and shout 'Count off,' then each of us will call out our positions," Xiaohua said, shaking the flashlight in his hand. "I'll place the flashlight in the center of the room. If it's just a misunderstanding, we can continue playing. But if after counting off it still feels wrong, shout 'Gather,' and we'll all come together to turn on the flashlight and check what's going on. Any questions?"

"Alright then, let's line up in the order from this afternoon!"
Once everyone confirmed their positions, Xiaohua stood in the center of the room and shook the flashlight in his hand.
"I'm turning off the lights now!"
With that, he placed the flashlight upright on the floor and switched it off.
The room was instantly plunged into darkness.
"Ah! I can't see anything!" A-Qiang exclaimed uncontrollably.
"Uh... this is really a bit scary..."
"Okay, I'm starting now!" Xiaohua said as he made his way back to his corner in the dark.
"Okay!" everyone responded.
As nothing could be seen in front of them, everyone could only cautiously feel their way forward, naturally moving slower than during the afternoon test.
"One more person!" A Qiang's voice echoed in the darkness after a while.
"...One more person!" Xiao Lin added.
"One more person," A Guan chimed in.
When Xiao Hua missed his target at the next corner, he couldn't help but let out a sigh.
"One more person!"
Perhaps it was due to their adaptation to the darkness; although everything was still blurry, they could vaguely make out the layout of the room and the black figures standing in each corner.
As a result, their footsteps gradually quickened. After a round of nothing happening, their mindset relaxed considerably, and by the end, they were even laughing and jogging lightly in the dark.

"Hahaha!"
The sound of footsteps mixed with their playful laughter echoed through the darkness.
"Hey! How many rounds have we done? Is anyone counting?" Xiao Hua suddenly asked.
"No!" everyone replied in unison.

"Of course, let's keep going!"
After being patted on the shoulder, Xiao Hua immediately stepped forward to tap A Guan's shoulder, but A Guan remained standing still, not moving forward.
" A Guan?" Xiao Hua wondered, but suddenly heard A Guan shout loudly—
"Count off!"
"Huh? Oh, I'm here," Xiao Lin said.
"I'm here," A Qiang added.
"Everyone's here!"
Xiao Hua was still puzzled when he noticed A Guan quickly running to the center of the room.
"Gather up!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, A Guan had already turned on the flashlight and shone it on the faces of everyone looking at each other, illuminating all four corners of the room.
"Wha-what's going on?" Xiao Lin asked in confusion, glancing around as he slowly approached A Guan. "Is something wrong?"
A Guan's sharp gaze swept across everyone's faces.
"Who was speaking just now?" he asked.
"Huh? Didn't you ask us to count off?" A Qiang looked at him, puzzled.
Upon hearing this, Xiao Hua paused for a moment, but it seemed like he suddenly realized something and his face went pale.
"Um... let's talk about it outside!"

Once the group returned to the bike parking area, A Qiang couldn't help but speak up.
"Alright, can someone explain what just happened?"
A Guan and Xiao Hua exchanged glances. Xiao Hua cautiously whispered, "Who said everyone was here just now?"
"Huh? Wasn't it you?" Xiao Lin looked at him in confusion.
"No, Xiao Hua was right next to me. I can confirm it wasn't him," A Guan said, still shaken. "Besides, I clearly saw you running towards A Qiang. Logically, I should have missed my target, but there was someone standing right where I was aiming..."
Xiao Lin stared in shock, unable to suppress the urge to rub his arms.

"Then who exactly called out that everyone was here?" A Qiang asked.

"Oh!" The others echoed, hurriedly scrambling to grab their bicycles.

Everyone instantly froze, looking at each other in silence for a while—
"…Is someone speaking?" Xiao Lin asked quietly.
"I didn't hear anything! I didn't hear anything! Let's go, let's go!"
A Qiang immediately picked up the pace, and the others followed suit, pedaling their bicycles like they were on fire, quickly leaving the scene.
After that, everyone tacitly agreed not to bring it up again, and they also avoided riding down that narrow path, let alone passing by that house.
It was as if everything had never happened.
