After listening, I remembered that there was a leveling app on my phone that might come in handy. So, I took my phone out of my pocket. Just as I was about to turn on the screen, I suddenly noticed that the signal indicator was flickering, sometimes showing one bar and other times three, appearing extremely unstable. 0

“Li Zhisheng, come take a look at this…” I held the phone up for him to see the signal. 0

At that moment, Li Zhisheng had already carved an arrow symbol into a tree with a stone, pointing uphill. Hearing me call him, he leaned closer to examine my phone. “This might explain why Yao Long's call couldn't get through; it seems this place has some strong interference.” 0

“Yeah.” I replied, wanting to check the leveling app to see if it was also affected. As soon as I opened the program, everything seemed normal on the surface, but no matter how I adjusted the angle, the level on the screen didn’t budge at all. It appeared that all functions of the phone were severely disrupted and rendered unusable. 0

“It’s not just electronic devices; even mechanical ones are affected.” Li Zhisheng showed me his wristwatch, and I saw that all three hands on the dial had stopped moving. 0

“This is a Swiss-made mechanical watch. If it weren't for the strong magnetic interference nearby, it definitely wouldn't be like this.” He then pulled his wrist back. 0

Seeing this made me even more worried about Yao Long. Despite his remarkable insight, it would be difficult for him to operate under such circumstances. 0

“Maybe we can still make it back now. If not, we should find another way out from outside. If Yao Long hasn’t found a way and we end up trapped here too, that would be a real problem,” Li Zhisheng said with a frown. 0

But I looked around and replied, “Do you think it's still possible to go back? I feel like this place is more complicated than it seems…” The reason for my concern was that I suddenly felt the White Mist surrounding me like a layer of cold frost; any exposed skin felt a chill as soon as it came into contact with it. 0

“I know what you’re thinking… but I haven’t detected any signs of Vengeful Spirits around here… I can’t even sense any presence at all,” Li Zhisheng said. 0

After pondering for a moment, I said, “Regardless, staying here isn’t a solution. Let’s move forward for now; if we can find Yao Long, that would be best. But if we can’t and happen to find our way out of this White Mist, then let’s just get out first and think of other solutions later.” 0

With that, Li Zhisheng and I continued to walk slowly through the White Mist… 0

I lost track of time as we walked; the surroundings grew darker and darker, and my legs began to feel sore from walking on an incline for so long. 0

"Can your phone still tell the time? How long have we been walking?" Li Zhisheng asked, rubbing his arms to warm himself. 0

Hearing this, I took out my phone to check the time, but as soon as I turned it on, the screen flickered twice and then went black. No matter how many times I pressed the power button, it remained unresponsive. 0

I held up the black screen phone in front of Li Zhisheng and said, "Forget about the time; it won't even turn on." 0

Li Zhisheng sighed deeply. At that moment, his breath formed a mist in the cold air, indicating that the temperature around us was definitely below ten degrees. 0

Just then, I suddenly recognized a tree in front of us; it had the marks that Li Zhisheng had made on its trunk. 0

"We're back again..." I said impatiently. This was already the fifth time we had seen Li Zhisheng's markings. Although he had been marking our path all along, this tree bore five marks, meaning we had passed this spot five times. 0

"Stop looking for Yao Long. Right now, we can't even walk out of here... Look at the light; it seems like the sun is about to set. If it goes down, won't it be even harder for us to get out?" 0

As he spoke, Li Zhisheng slammed the stone he had been using to mark our path against the tree. He must have hit it too hard because the stone embedded itself deep into the trunk, causing the tree to shake violently and sending a shower of withered leaves cascading down upon us. 0

Seeing this, an idea struck me. I quickly said to Li Zhisheng, "Wait! Can you use the power of Soul Burial to leap out of this White Mist? If you can see our position from above, we should be able to find a way out." 0

After hearing my suggestion, although Li Zhisheng seemed skeptical about its effectiveness, he reluctantly agreed and unleashed the power of Soul Burial from within him. 0

Instantly, a wave of dark energy spread around him. "Alright, I'll give it a try..." he said as he bent his knees slightly and prepared to jump. 0

But just then, I suddenly heard a sharp laughter coming from within the White Mist beside us. The laughter was not only piercing but also ethereal, echoing through the dense forest as if a large group of people were laughing simultaneously. 0

This caused Li Zhisheng, who was about to jump, to halt and cautiously scan our surroundings. "Shen Xu, did you hear that?" 0

"I heard you! Are you sure there are no traces of Vengeful Spirits around here?" I replied firmly. 0

"I'm sure, absolutely sure!" Li Zhisheng said, quickly forming a black sphere in his hand. A strong Killing Intent surged forth as the power coalesced, instantly spreading outwards. It seemed that Li Zhisheng intended to use his Killing Intent to make the opponent feel threatened and retreat. 0

However, the sharp and ethereal laughter did not fade; instead, I felt as if the source of that sound was gathering around us, slowly closing in. The laughter was numerous, sending chills down my spine. 0

At this moment, even I had to raise my guard. I slung the Azure Spirit across my back while drawing out Jiang Ling, wrapped in cloth behind me, gripping it tightly with both hands in a ready stance for an attack. 0

"Listening to that sound, the newcomer is definitely not friendly. We should strike first!" Li Zhisheng gritted his teeth and whispered to me. 0

Hearing this, I hesitated. After all, Li Zhisheng couldn't sense the presence of the newcomer, which indicated that they were certainly not ghosts. Moreover, they were unlikely to be someone like Haoyang, who could conceal their aura. After all, Haoyang was exceptionally gifted; it was improbable for so many individuals with such abilities to appear at once. 0

"Let's not rush. This might just be an illusion brought on by the mist. If we use our abilities carelessly, it would be a waste of energy. Stay calm and wait a bit longer," I said, widening my eyes and staring intently at the pale mountain mist ahead... 0
