Hearing this, he pondered for a moment, then nodded slightly before slowly departing on his own.
As I watched Haoyang leave, I turned my attention to the two Yang Masters still battling against the White Dragon in mid-air. At that moment, the White Dragon appeared to be on the verge of exhaustion. Its gradually fading body suddenly erupted in a dazzling light, accompanied by a deafening roar that echoed like the last cry of a dying dragon.
Amidst the thunderous sound, I could also hear the anguished screams of the two Yang Masters. As I approached, I looked up and found that the one lying on the ground was a man named Fan, the White-Haired Old Man. His hands were charred black from fending off the White Dragon's attacks.
"I never expected you to flee at such a critical moment, you coward!" I glared at the old man struggling to rise and swung my sword down at him.
"You young ones should not be so arrogant!" The old man exclaimed as he saw me attacking without hesitation. He summoned his Void Spirit power and sprang up from the ground, raising his hand to try and seize my Jiang Ling once more.
This time, I clearly saw his movement. Before he could grasp the sword's edge, I quickly withdrew my blade and stepped back several paces. Taking advantage of his momentary surprise, I reversed my grip on Jiang Ling and slashed upward diagonally, creating a Slash Mark. The Slash Mark flew forth with incredible speed, stirring up a cloud of dust as it hurtled toward him.
To my surprise, the old man remained calm. He raised his hand defensively in front of him, and with a loud bang, the Slash Mark collided with his arm, resulting in a violent explosion that sent black smoke billowing.
From within the smoke, the Old Fellow calmly stated, "Don't underestimate me. Even though I've expended some energy fighting Li Yu and sustained injuries from your previous attack, my strength still surpasses yours." With that, a beam of golden light shot out from within the black mist and brushed past me in an instant.
Though this light did not directly touch my body, it burned a large hole in my clothing and left behind a scent of scorched skin.
"I didn't expect him to retain such formidable power; it seems I've underestimated him," I thought as I tore away the burnt fabric and continuously summoned the power of Hatred within me.
"You are strong—indeed very strong—but that only makes you more worthy of destruction!" I suddenly declared fiercely as black lightning erupted around me, rivaling the old man's crackling energy.
At that moment, the anger in my heart vanished completely as I looked at the White-Haired Old Man before me. My only thought was, "Kill him!"
"Oh? Not bad, young man. I didn't expect you to possess such power, but you're still too inexperienced!" The old man said, charging towards me. I could see the dazzling golden light shining from his burned black hand, releasing a tremendous force.
But I felt no fear. I raised Jiang Ling with one hand and held it in front of me. "Is it really me who is inexperienced, or are you just too old? Let's see after we try!"
As I spoke, the old man had already closed in on me. With a loud thud, his iron-hard palm struck the blade of Jiang Ling.
In an instant, black and golden currents surged around us, crackling with a hissing sound.
"So I'm not, am I?! You're still too inexperienced!" While confronting me, the old man suddenly smirked, revealing a sinister smile.
It was then that I noticed the ground beneath my feet had cracked open without my realizing it, and golden light was seeping out from the fissures.
At this moment, as I was engaged in battle with the old man, if I carelessly withdrew Jiang Ling to dodge the attack from below, I would likely be hit by the golden light in his hand. But if I didn’t evade, I would have to take the attack head-on. Although I felt my strength was nearly equal to his, enduring such a powerful strike under equal circumstances would surely leave me severely weakened, diminishing my chances of victory.
Realizing this, a plan formed in my mind. I stopped channeling power into Jiang Ling and used my free hand to gather energy into a Black Sphere, compressing it until it became the size of a fingertip.
Then, with lightning speed before he could react, I slammed the palm containing the condensed Black Sphere into his abdomen and unleashed the compressed power.
A Black Light shot through his body in an instant and exploded against the Mountain behind him, creating a massive hole several dozen meters wide.
The old man widened his eyes in shock and quickly jumped back. As he withdrew, Jiang Ling lost its support due to our earlier stalemate. It suddenly dropped down sharply.
At that moment, I leveraged my downward momentum, adjusting the blade to aim at the direction where the old man was retreating, and unleashed a Slash Mark. Due to the low angle of my release, the dark Slash Mark skimmed along the ground, carving a trench as it flew straight toward the old man.
In an instant, just as the Slash Mark was about to reach him, it exploded with a loud bang upon impact, sending another cloud of black mist into the air.
At that moment, the ground beneath my feet began to tremble violently, as if a powerful force was about to erupt. I realized there was no time to evade. Therefore, I channeled my energy into Jiang Ling, then gripped my sword tightly and plunged the tip into the ground with force.
As Jiang Ling pierced the earth, black light surged underground, intertwining with brilliant golden light. In a moment, a barrier formed from the dark glow emerged from the cracked ground beneath me, blocking the golden light from penetrating further.
Despite my best efforts to hold it back, some of the golden light broke through my injected Black Light and emerged from below.
Seeing more and more golden light bursting forth, I could no longer contain it. I forcefully withdrew Jiang Ling and swiftly maneuvered away at the fastest speed I could muster, escaping the area engulfed by golden light.
Just as my feet cleared the area, a massive surge of golden light erupted from underground, shooting up like a pillar straight into the sky…
