As I watched the tide of black centipedes surging toward me, fear gripped me, and I hurriedly stepped back a few paces. Just as they were about to engulf me, the centipedes suddenly halted in their tracks, standing still as if waiting for something to descend.
At that moment, a massive crimson reptile burst forth from the mass of dark centipedes, sweeping away the surrounding black creatures with a gust of foul wind. Many centipedes were sent flying by the force of the impact, crashing against the nearby wall and splattering their juices everywhere.
"This... could this also be an illusion..." I muttered in shock. I wanted to retreat further but found my legs completely immobilized. Looking down, I saw a swarm of spiders had emerged at my feet, their webs firmly binding my legs to the ground.
Realizing the dire situation, I quickly pulled out Jiang Ling from my backpack and gripped it tightly in my hand. "Damn bugs!" I shouted, raising the sword to slash at the spiders clinging to my legs...
Just then, I felt someone grab my hand that was holding Jiang Ling. A voice beside me exclaimed, "What are you doing?!"
I turned to see Yao Long looking at me with confusion, repeating his earlier question: "What on earth are you doing?"
After hearing him, I glanced back at the airport. There were no centipedes in sight; only airport staff and a few scattered tourists remained inside.
"It really was an illusion." I rubbed my eyes, trying hard to stay alert.
"It seems that Worm King's ability is indeed quite powerful; it managed to affect my nerves while I was distracted." A chill ran down my spine at the thought of Worm King taking advantage of me again.
"Yao Long, were you affected?" I asked.
Yao Long shook his head. "No, I'm still fairly focused. Plus, since Worm King is on me, even if I were affected, it might be different."
"Well, it's better to stay vigilant..." I said as I put Jiang Ling back into my backpack.
"Your village was in the Jiangnan area before, but where exactly is it?" I asked while glancing at the schedule on the wall.
"Yunnan..." Yao Long replied.
"Yunnan again? And isn't Yunnan considered part of Jiangnan? Isn't that more like the southwest?" I questioned.
"Well, I might have gotten it wrong. I haven't really been to school much and don't have much geographical knowledge..." Yao Long said, scratching his head awkwardly. He then asked, "So, have you been there?"
When Yao Long asked, I thought back to my first trip to Yunnan with Yin Li. It was because of that incident that I got involved in the whole affair, and it seemed that Yang Master's people were also secretly searching for the Soul Sealing Talisman I had placed in Yunnan. This time, I might be targeted by Yang Master's people again. To avoid them discovering the location of the Soul Sealing Talisman, I decided to steer clear of where I had hidden it.
With that in mind, I didn't mention Baiyan Village to Yao Long but casually replied, "It's nothing. I've just been there before..."
After that, I went to the inquiry desk and bought two last-minute tickets to Yunnan. Although they were much more expensive than the scheduled fare, it was a last-minute decision, and since my phone was broken and I hadn't had time to buy a new one, I didn't think too much about it.
Afterward, Yao Long and I waited at the terminal for a while. During that time, I almost fell asleep. Out of desperation, I bought some coffee to stay awake. Although it didn't help much, it was better than nothing. After some time passed, we exchanged our boarding passes, went through security, and boarded the flight to Yunnan.
The flight was uneventful until we landed smoothly. However, after drinking too much coffee, I urgently needed to use the restroom as soon as we got off the plane.
Once I finished in the restroom and came out, I saw Yao Long standing outside waiting for me, occasionally glancing around.
I walked over and asked, "Alright, we're in Yunnan now. What's next?"
Yao Long looked around to confirm that there were no Yang Master’s people nearby before saying, "I vaguely remember passing through a county called Zhenkang County before encountering danger during my mission..."
"Zhenkang County..." The name sounded familiar to me, and I couldn't help but say it out loud.
"Have you been there too?" Yao Long asked in surprise.
I didn't answer directly but instead recalled my previous experiences in Yunnan... After a moment of thought, I suddenly remembered that the place where I had hidden the Soul Sealing Talisman was a village called Baiyan Village, and on the way to this village, we would pass through a county named Zhenkang County.
Could it be that the village Yao Long mentioned is Baiyan Village?! What a coincidence! I was secretly astonished but kept my expression calm as I replied, "No, it just sounds familiar; maybe I've heard it somewhere else."

With that, Yao Long and I exited the airport and took a bus heading towards Zhenkang County. The ride was just as bumpy as before, reminding me of my previous journey with Yin Li.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of regret for Yin Li's downfall once again. However, as I thought about it, I sensed something was off, though I couldn't pinpoint what it was. It just felt like the events surrounding my encounters with Yin Li were somewhat strange.
As I pondered this, I suddenly heard a child nearby discussing the content of an animated show with his mother. "Super Warrior won't die! He's definitely not dead..."
The mother replied, "But look, hasn't he already been killed by the bad guys?" She pointed at the animated video on her phone.
Hearing this, I turned my head and glanced at the mother and daughter behind me, which reminded me of my own childhood. Just then, the child's words jolted me awake: "No, Super Warrior uses illusions! He must be playing dead to trick the enemy and then defeat them..."
In that moment, it felt as if a bolt of lightning struck my mind, instantly banishing my drowsiness and sending a shiver through my body. I widened my eyes in terror and stared out the window; everything suddenly seemed unreal.
Yao Long noticed my unusual expression and asked, "Shen Xu? What's wrong? Did you drink too much coffee?"
I waved my hand dismissively. "No, no, it's not that. I've just remembered something..." I began to desperately recall every detail of my encounters with Yin Li. But as I delved deeper into my thoughts, an unknown fear gradually crept over me. It felt as if I were standing at the edge of an endless abyss, where unseen eyes were watching my every move...
