Eileen heard footsteps outside, accompanied by a woman's complaints, and she immediately recognized the voice as Lisa's. Her heart tightened, and she held her breath, listening intently to the commotion outside. Suddenly, there was a loud bang as a door was slammed shut, followed by the sound of Lisa seemingly being forcefully thrown to the ground. The guard watching over them did not linger; the footsteps grew fainter, gradually disappearing down the corridor. 0

As the footsteps faded away, Eileen sprang to her feet and rushed to the cell door. She pressed herself against the iron bars, anxiously calling out, "Lisa! Are you okay?" 0

From the opposite cell came a pained groan, followed by Lisa's weak voice, "Eileen, is that you?" 0

"It's me," Eileen replied, her voice trembling. "Are you hurt?" 0

Lisa struggled to prop herself up against the wall, gasping as she said, "I'm fine; I just got knocked down a few times. What about you? Are you okay?" 0

"I'm alright," Eileen answered, feeling a slight sense of relief. "We need to find a way out." 0

There was a hint of sobbing in Lisa's voice as she said, "Eileen, I thought... I thought you wouldn't wake up again." 0

Eileen felt Lisa's emotional turmoil and took a deep breath. "I'm awake now; we need to leave this place together." 0

Tears welled in Lisa's eyes as she choked out, "Eileen, the whole town has gone mad. Everyone seems to be caught in extreme frenzy; Diego Montoro is raving that the prophecy has come true. There are sacrifices happening every hour in town; everywhere you look, there are wooden cicadas. The townspeople are being sent into the church one by one to be killed by Raphael. It's like a scene from hell." 0

Hearing this made Eileen's heart ache; she inhaled deeply. "We have to stop all of this; we can't let it continue." 0

Lisa nodded, her eyes filled with fear and determination. "Yes, we can't let more people suffer. But what can we do? There are too many of them; we can't fight back." 0

Eileen clenched her fists and pondered aloud. "We need to find Diego Montoro's weakness, expose his true nature, and make the townspeople see the truth. Maybe we can use their frenzy to find an opening." 0

Wiping her tears away, Lisa's voice trembled slightly as she said, "Eileen, I believe in you; we'll find a way." 0

Standing before the cell door, Eileen was filled with anxiety and anger. She kicked at the door forcefully several times, hoping to break it down, but it remained unmoved, only producing dull metallic sounds. 0

Grinding her teeth together, she swung her arm and kicked again with all her might. At that moment, Lisa looked up from across the way and said despairingly, "Stop trying! The door is more solid than you think; it can't be broken down directly." 0

Breathless, Erin stopped and looked up at Lisa across from her. Sweat dripped down her forehead, and her hands trembled slightly from exertion. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. 0

"We can't just give up like this," Erin said, her voice firm. "There must be another way. We need to find the key or something else to open this door." 0

Lisa nodded, her eyes still shining with hope. "Yes, we can't give up. We'll definitely find a way." 0

Erin turned to scan every corner of the cell, searching for any clues that could help them escape. Her gaze fell on some tattered rags and wooden scraps on the floor, along with rust in the corner of the wall. Ideas raced through her mind as she tried to devise a feasible plan. 0

"Maybe we can use these things to pry open the lock," Erin suggested, picking up a sturdier piece of wood. "I don't know if this will work, but it's better than doing nothing." 0

Lisa's voice held a hint of hope. "Alright, let's give it a try." 0

Erin forcefully inserted the wood into the lock, attempting to pry the bolt. She felt resistance but refused to give up. Her hands shook, muscles tense from anxiety, but she pressed on. She knew this was their only chance to escape. 0

"Erin, you can do it! I believe in you," Lisa encouraged from across the room, her voice choked yet resolute. 0

Taking a deep breath, Erin focused all her strength on continuing to work the lock. The bolt emitted faint sounds as it seemed to loosen gradually. A glimmer of hope surged within her; she worked with renewed vigor, filled with unyielding determination. 0

Time ticked by slowly as Erin's palms grew sweaty and beads of perspiration dripped from her forehead, but she didn’t stop. Finally, with a crisp click, the lock gave way. A rush of joy filled Erin as she quickly pushed open the cell door and rushed over to help Lisa out. 0

"We're free!" Erin exclaimed excitedly as she helped Lisa up. "Now we need to get out of here fast." 0

Tears welled in Lisa's eyes as she spoke with a choked voice, "Thank you, Erin. Really, thank you." 0

The two cautiously moved down the long corridor, surrounded by silence except for their soft footsteps. Erin's heartbeat gradually steadied, but she remained highly alert. 0

"This is a barn on the southwest side of town," Lisa whispered. "We need to find a way to contact that taxi driver from before and wait for him outside the town—at least two hours will pass." 0

Erin nodded calmly, contemplating their next move. "We need to retrieve our belongings first—our phones and the memory card from the camera. That's our only evidence to expose everything." 0

They continued forward, and at the end of the corridor, a small door appeared, with a tiny window beside it that revealed the dim sky outside. Erin gently pushed the door open, revealing a small courtyard overgrown with weeds, giving it a desolate appearance. 0

"We need to be careful," Erin said, glancing around. "There might be others here." 0

Lisa nodded, and the two crouched down, cautiously making their way across the courtyard and into another dilapidated building. The interior was dark and damp, with moss covering the walls and debris scattered across the floor. They carefully avoided the obstacles on the ground as they headed toward a room that seemed to be a storage area. 0

"Over there," Erin whispered, pointing to a half-open door. "Let's check it out." 0

They gently pushed the door open and entered the room. It was filled with clutter, and in one corner were several worn-out boxes. Erin and Lisa began rummaging through them, trying to find their belongings. 0

"Here!" Lisa exclaimed excitedly, pulling out their backpacks from one of the boxes. "These are our things." 0

Erin quickly checked the backpack, confirming that their phones and camera memory cards were still inside. She sighed in relief and said to Lisa, "Great! Now we need to find a safe place to contact that taxi driver." 0

They hurriedly gathered their things and carefully left the storage room, returning to the small courtyard. Erin took out her phone and tried to call the taxi driver, but the signal was extremely poor, causing several interruptions during the call. 0

"We need to find a spot with better reception," Erin said. "The signal here is terrible." 0

Lisa looked around and pointed to a higher area on the other side of the courtyard. "There's a spot over there; we can give it a try." 0

The two climbed an old ladder to reach a small platform. The signal was slightly better here, and Erin dialed the taxi driver's number again. 0

"Hello, is this Muto?" Erin asked nervously. 0
