Daphne looked at her brother with an innocent face and obediently answered, "It's a rabbit."
Miller looked at her suspiciously and asked, "Why is there a smell of blood?"
"The rabbit is injured, covered in blood."
Upon hearing her response, Miller leaned in, getting close to her face. He reached out and brushed aside the hair on her cheek, then leaned in to sniff her lips earnestly.
Feeling the cool breath sprayed on her face, Daphne blushed and pushed Miller away.
She looked at her brother with a suspicious look and accused him intentionally, "How could you doubt me, brother! The rabbit is so cute, how could I possibly bite it!"
Miller indeed did not smell any strange odor around her mouth. He looked into Daphne's honest eyes and decided to trust her for the time being.
He tilted his head slightly and planted a kiss on her lips, then hugged her to comfort her: "Hmm... our Flora is the kindest, she wouldn't bite the rabbit. It's your brother who has wronged you."
Daphne nestled in Miller's arms, feeling a sense of relief in her heart.
The convoy continued to advance towards Winterfell, and the air along the way grew colder. Oak trees were becoming scarce by the roadside, replaced by vast stretches of coniferous forests.
The sky has started to snow, and the snowflakes are lightly falling like cotton on everything. The plants on the roadside seem to have frozen to death, all turning black. When you open the window of the carriage, all you can see is a large expanse of dazzling silver and a little pure black mixed in.
Daphne feels that the thick clothes are completely unable to keep warm. Her and her brother's bodies are getting colder and colder. Now, they have to put three or four stoves in the carriage to maintain a relatively normal body temperature for the two of them.
Daphne and Miller are not actually afraid of the cold, but after spending a long time in the carriage without exercise, their body temperature drops and their limbs inevitably become stiff, which is really uncomfortable.
With nothing else to do, Daphne lies in Miller's arms, keeping warm by the fire and reading with him.
"Big brother, The Joshi family... they live in such a cold place all year round." She held her brother's arm, squinted and yawned softly.
Miller put the book aside, hugged his sister tighter, and nodded against her head, "Yes, Josie is used to seclusion, and there aren't many active labor forces in the affiliated human beings' city."
"How was their blood servant issue resolved? There are few people in such a cold place, right?"
"josie After all, it is a big family, and their business is certainly not limited to this icy land."
Daphne She touched his chest and found the pocket watch he had placed there, opened the cover and looked at it. It was already eight o'clock in the morning.
She closed her eyes and leaned in her brother's arms, murmuring softly, "Why hasn't he arrived yet... I'm almost being shaken silly by the carriage."
Miller gently raised his hand to stroke her soft hair and comforted her, "We'll be there in half a day. Flora, why don't you sleep for a while? When you wake up, you'll be in a warm king-size bed."
Comforted by these hands with just the right pressure and rhythm, Daphne gradually fell into a deep sleep, sinking into darkness.
When she opened her eyes again, Daphne looked at the hazy yellow ceiling without focus, feeling confused for a moment without reacting. She blinked slowly, taking in the exquisite and elegant patterns on the ceiling, and suddenly realized that she was lying in bed.
Daphne propped herself up with both hands on the soft bed, looking at the deep red blanket and the smooth, fitted nightgown she was wearing, confirming that she was now at Josie's home.
She cleared her throat and called out, " Lucia..."
The door to the room was gently pushed open, and Lucia came in with a food trolley, looking like she had just brought back some food.
Lucia blinked at Daphne and pushed the trolley to the side of her bed, saying, "Miss, you're finally awake. It's already 9 o'clock in the evening. Have something to eat first."
Daphne sipped from her cup and watched as she wrote something in her notebook with a pen. I asked her, "What is my brother doing right now?"
"Master is currently chatting with Josie's home owner, and later he will have a midnight meal with the owner of Josie's home and the Young Master," Lucia replied.
"So, is there nothing for me to do today?"
