Zheng Lingxin sneered, and with a single command, several men immediately blocked my path.

He approached me, patting my cheek with a grin and said, "There are so many people watching; you wouldn't want to embarrass me, would you?"
With that, he grabbed my qipao and tore it violently.

The fabric split apart in an instant.
I gasped and quickly covered my chest, looking at him in shame and anger.
"Zheng Lingxin, are you insane?"
"Yes, I am insane," he replied, his lips curling into a smirk as he spoke each word deliberately. "Xu Yue, I’ve known for a long time that you’re not human."
What?
I was stunned.
So he had known my true identity all along? No wonder he had never touched me. It turns out he had been aware of who I really was from the very beginning.
So, he was just deceiving me. He wanted to trick me into his grasp and then sell me to a benefactor. Well, well. I looked at him and suddenly burst into laughter. "Zheng Lingxin, you really are quite the schemer, aren't you?"
"Too kind," Zheng Lingxin shrugged, grinning as he said, "Xu Yue, don't worry, I'll treat you well."
"After all, someone as exceptional as you is hard to come by." With that, he signaled to a few men nearby. They immediately approached and began to touch me all over.
"Not bad, not bad, really a fine specimen."
"Yeah, look at this backside, look at this chest; she’s bound to bear sons."
"I can't miss out on such a good catch. I'll take one!"
"I'll take two!"
"I'll take three!"
A crowd of men rushed forward, groping me without restraint. I trembled with rage, wishing I could kill them all. But I couldn't. I had to endure. I needed to keep my life to seek revenge.
Finally, the crowd dispersed. Standing under the lights in my torn qipao, I looked pitiful.
"Alright, everyone quiet down," Zheng Lingxin clapped his hands and announced loudly, "Let the bidding begin."
"Boys start at one million, girls at eight hundred thousand, twins add two hundred thousand."
"Xu Yue, listen closely; your price is even higher than that of a star."
Zheng Lingxin crouched down, looking at me with a cheerful smile.
"Don't worry, I will treat you well," he said. After finishing his words, he picked me up and strode into the room.
He placed me on the bed and then sat at the edge, gazing at me.
"Xu Yue, why did you lie to me?" he sighed, sounding helpless. "You clearly wanted to absorb my essence, yet you insisted on saying you wanted to date me."
"Do you know that you almost got me killed?"
"I..." I opened my mouth but found no words to say. I did want to absorb his essence. However, I never expected him to be so ruthless as to sell me out.
"But you also saved me," Zheng Lingxin said, stroking his chin with a grin. "If it weren't for you leading those people away, I would have probably been captured by them long ago."
"So, I've decided to let you go." He stood up and walked over to me, pinching my chin and forcing me to look up at him.
"Xu Yue, do you know? Actually, I'm just like you." He leaned closer to my ear and lowered his voice. "I've absorbed quite a few women's essence too."
What? I looked at him in shock. So he was one of those people too?
"So, do you understand what I mean?"
