"Should you not betray me, I shall not betray you; should you betray me, I will pity you."
As Zuo Dao uttered these words, a sense of relief washed over him, while a tear glimmered at the corner of Tai Shu Yun's eye. She understood that Zuo Dao had maintained an ambiguous relationship with the Three Women; although it had never been explicitly stated, all parties involved were aware of it.
This was the first time she had heard Zuo Dao's promise spoken aloud. What greater gift could there be?
At that moment, Dao was furious. It was one thing for the parties involved to be affected, but what was Zuo Dao? How could he remain unscathed beneath the Calamity Cloud? It wasn't just that he was unharmed; it felt as if he were being completely ignored.
Tai Shu Yun felt a sweetness in her heart. Even if she were to die at that moment, she would have no regrets. But now was not the time to die. She hadn't yet devoured that damned brat. How could she simply perish like this?
At that moment, she was filled with boundless fighting spirit.
Let the calamity come even fiercer!
The celestial energy within her accelerated its fusion with Lotus Fire. No one could predict what would happen when the two were completely merged. This was something that had never occurred even in ancient times. Now, under Zuo Dao's deliberate arrangement, a brand new power system was about to emerge from the earth.
At this moment, Tai Shu Yun, clad in Fire Lotus Garb, appeared enchanting. With her head held high and her hands poised like swords, a great force began to radiate from her.
Even more astonishingly, a halo was brewing behind her.
Saintly Aspect.
When Dragon Peak witnessed this scene, his heart sank into despair. No matter how strong one's resolve might be, seeing such a sight would leave anyone feeling hopeless; it was a blow to both soul and body.
Though the Calamity Cloud loomed large, Tai Shu Yun's aura was even more formidable. She was undergoing a transformation; originally, this phase could take an indeterminate amount of time to complete. However, spurred on by Zuo Dao's influence, this process was inexplicably shortened.
"Damn it!" Zuo Dao finally lost his composure.
The aura emanating from Tai Shu Yun felt incredibly familiar to him. Tai Shu Yun had made a significant breakthrough, evolving towards an immortal form.
This left Zuo Dao perplexed and angry. Although it was good news for Tai Shu Yun, Zuo Dao couldn't understand why such a breakthrough would force her to "ascend."
Under normal circumstances, Zuo Dao would have been thrilled, but just as their feelings were beginning to blossom, they were about to be torn apart. It was unbearable. Moreover, Zuo Dao sensed a hint of conspiracy lurking beneath the surface.
Having been bullied, Zuo Dao could no longer remain passive; he had to react. After all, what was at stake was his beloved.
At that moment, Ice Shimmer Star was in chaos, with countless hidden masters emerging. The pressure was overwhelming; even as they suppressed their own cultivation levels, they felt the impending doom of their tribulation.
The appearance of these individuals dealt a severe blow to Dragon Swallowing Water. He had always believed himself to be the strongest force on Ice Shimmer Star, thinking that even the few reclusive masters were at most his equals. But now, with these newcomers, he realized how insignificant he truly was.
Each person who appeared harbored unfathomable power within them; some seemed ordinary, while others blended into the surroundings so seamlessly that one could hardly detect their presence.
This realization temporarily overshadowed the terror of the impending tribulation for Dragon Swallowing Water. His current concern was how to clean up after this ordeal. If those disgraceful members of Clan provoked someone recklessly, it could lead to the annihilation of their entire lineage.
Those who knew Zuo Dao understood that when he got serious, he became a force of madness. Mad Dao—his madness was not just his own; it also encompassed his path.
Anyone trying to steal his woman stood no chance.
At this moment, Zuo Dao no longer concealed his cultivation level and stepped forward to stand before Tai Shu Yun.
"Things have changed. If you don’t want to leave me, stick close," he said gently to Tai Shu Yun, but that did not mean his temper was any better.
Tai Shu Yun stared blankly at the tall figure before her, speechless with emotion. At that moment, she felt something unusual—a voice calling out to her incessantly. It was filled with endless temptation, yet because of Zuo Dao, she resisted it fiercely.
However, when this man stood in front of her, that inexplicable voice suddenly vanished. Even she, no matter how dense she might be, should have realized something by now.
At that moment, within the area of the calamity, apart from Zuo Dao and Tai Shu Yun, there were no other beings present. Those who had escaped were watching from a distance, while those who could not flee had turned into energy scattered across the ground.
Although the calamity was powerful, many more Cultivators were rushing over from afar. Every calamity was a significant event for Ice Shimmer Star. Observing the calamity allowed these Cultivators to better understand the principles of the earth, laying a stronger foundation for their Transcend Tribulation.
However, this time, Tai Shu Yun's calamity was exceptionally strong, and the onlooking Cultivators were all tens of thousands of miles away.
When Zuo Dao's figure emerged, all the Cultivators were stunned by his audacious actions.
This was no longer a simple matter of one plus one; it was a fundamental rule in the Cultivation world that one could only overcome a calamity by oneself. Anyone daring to interfere with a calamity would ultimately become nourishment for the earth.
Zuo Dao was someone who fiercely protected his own. Those he acknowledged were like his reverse scales. Any means could be used against him, but if it involved those close to him, then there would be no mercy—no matter how far away they were!
With his sword in hand, a murderous aura surged around him. The already dilapidated peaks below were instantly shattered into dust by his Sword Intent, yet not a speck of dust was raised.
A longing from afar.
With a Sword Slash, it transformed into a Sword Sea, a fierce torrent surging upward toward the Calamity Cloud.
The air crackled with anger as an oppressive aura emerged. Beneath the Calamity Cloud, flashes of lightning and thunder roared. As Zuo Dao charged upward, the form of Calamity Cloud that had taken shape as Zuo Dao vanished, replaced by an endless Thunder God Electromancer.
With a ferocious visage and wings obscured, Zuo Dao and Tai Shu Yun surrounded their foe, raising their weapons in unison.
It was as if the earth itself had just begun to awaken; a beam of light cleaved through the ground. This was a clash between humans and deities, a contest between paths.
The moment Zuo Dao unleashed his Sword Slash, the onlooking Cultivators felt an immense threat and hurriedly retreated.
As they fell back, they sensed a brilliant light blooming before them.
White, an endless white, enveloped all who witnessed this strike, plunging them into a momentary blindness, while not a single sound reached their ears.
The Xiangsi Sword had emerged, and the Soul-Devouring Blade naturally followed suit, like a pair of fated lovers walking upon the earth. They cut down the endless Thunder God Electromancers.
Yet all of this was born from the Transformation of Calamity; calamity was indestructible, and shadows would not cease.
When the cultivators regained their sight and beheld this scene, they were all awestruck by Zuo Dao's formidable power. At that moment, Dragon Swallowing Water wiped away a cold sweat. Just moments ago, he had considered making a move against Zuo Dao; thankfully, he had refrained.
With overwhelming strength, Zuo Dao continued to slay relentlessly, his hands never pausing and his mouth never idle.
"Bring out whatever other tricks you have! If I end up killing all these things, I’m curious to see how you plan to handle it!"
Such dominance.
Tai Shu Yun silently followed behind Zuo Dao, feeling safer than ever before. Calamity seemed to have completely ignored her, focusing entirely on Zuo Dao.
The near-immortal calamity was thus shattered by Zuo Dao. Tai Shu Yun was unaware of this fact; even if she did know, she would not blame Zuo Dao. Instead, she would feel that what he did was right.
Perhaps sensing that the Thunder God Electromancers posed no threat to Zuo Dao, an aura emanating from the Primordial realm appeared.
Roaring beasts emerged from the Calamity Cloud, some towering hundreds of feet high, while others reached thousands of feet.
The appearance of each colossal beast sent tremors through Ice Shimmer Star.
Primordial Beasts.
This was Calamity's method: binding countless beast souls and using the body of the Calamity Cloud to create living War Beasts.
Trampling.
Countless giant hands descended upon Zuo Dao. In the eyes of these colossal ancient Primordial War Beasts, Zuo Dao appeared no larger than an ant.
The Xiangsi Sword and Void Blade struck against them, creating sparks but leaving no marks.
What a powerful physique, Zuo Dao thought to himself. On a whim, he sheathed his weapons and met the descending giant hand with a punch.
More War Beasts opened their massive jaws, lunging at Zuo Dao.
What does it mean to hold up with one hand?
Zuo Dao perfectly embodied the essence of that concept.
One fist met the descending giant hand. A tremendous roar echoed through the air.
Blood rained down.
With that single strike, a visible ripple spread out, obliterating everything in its path.
Zuo Dao seemed like an immortal among mortals, shattering one of the War Beast's legs with a single punch, blood and flesh dancing together in the air.
Even if the War Beasts were powerful, having one leg crushed only elicited a pained roar from them.
Amidst the blood rain, Zuo Dao and Tai Shu Yun were shielded by a force, untouched by even a drop.
That tall, white figure left a strong impression in the hearts of countless Cultivators. Many years later, this legend would still echo on Ice Shimmer Star.
Once, there was a person who fought with furious rage for the sake of Red Beauty. They battled, clashed with Primordial Beasts, killing so fiercely that the sun and moon lost their light, leaving only darkness and blood staining the sky. The only constant was that figure.
What was supposed to be Tai Shu Yun's calamity had turned into a contest between Zuo Dao and the calamity itself, ignited by certain entities that provoked Zuo Dao.
No one but Zuo Dao knew what truly transpired.
Great Dream Heart Sutra.
This was one of the many Cultivation Methods of Zuo Dao, and now, as he wielded it, the world shifted dramatically, colors fading from the earth.
Yet, the fading colors could no longer be expressed. All that existed in the eyes of the onlookers was the blood rain in the darkness and that white figure.
Countless giant hammers struck down upon the endless War Beasts within Calamity Cloud.
All observers retreated further and further, blood streaming from their ears as they flew away. It was the sound waves of battle piercing through their eardrums.
The Great Dream Heart Sutra was pushed to its limits by Zuo Dao, overpowering the calamity.
