For the Gu Brothers, Zuo Dao did not make things difficult for them, and Tai Shu Yun was not harmed much; at most, some magical treasures and spirit tools were consumed.
The harvesting of Spirit Grass went smoothly, and Tai Shu Yun's big eyes turned into crescent moons. She was incredibly happy; with the Spirit Grass, not only could her grandfather's injuries be healed, but her Alchemist level would likely increase as well. However, having the Spirit Grass alone was not enough; without the Life Essence Herb, any Spirit Pill would be futile.
Seeing the beautiful girl beside him suddenly change from sunny to gloomy, Zuo Dao knew exactly what Tai Shu Yun was thinking. However, he chose not to address it for now. After coming out of the Great Dream Mirror, Zuo Dao had already decided to start laying his plans.
To break free from this chessboard, one must first surpass oneself. The Great Dream Elder had promised him that much, but he could tell that this game was vast; it couldn't possibly involve only the Great Dream Elder. The information he gathered from the light orb further solidified his resolve.
If he was going to do something, he would make the entire starry sky tremble.
Spirit Sword Mountain was thrown into chaos due to Tai Shu Yun's escapade. Tai Shu Reincarnation was fuming in the main hall while Tai Shu Yi sat beside him with a wry smile. His uncle was great in every way except for being overly protective of that granddaughter.
The Spirit Sword Seven Lords stood at the foot of the hall, not daring to make a sound. They felt both love and resentment towards their junior sister; every time she ran off, the Grand Elder would fly into a rage, yet whenever she returned, he acted as if nothing had happened.
"You all only know how to cultivate and can't even keep an eye on your junior sister! What good is your cultivation?" Tai Shu Reincarnation fumed internally. Although Tai Shu Yun always returned safely, he couldn't control his frustration.
The Seven Lords remained silent, standing there as Tai Shu Reincarnation scolded them.
Once Tai Shu Yi saw that his uncle had vented enough, he stepped forward to mediate.
"Alright, you all can disperse now. Go find your junior sister and don't let her stay out too late."
The Seven Lords responded in unison as if they were following a divine command and quickly fled the scene.
Tai Shu Reincarnation understood Tai Shu Yi's intention and did not press them further as he watched them leave.
"What is this Yun Girl playing at? Disappearing for a while like this—it's going to drive me mad!" The more he thought about it, the angrier he became; this granddaughter never allowed him a moment of peace.
"Alright, just calm down. You know Yun Girl is probably out gathering herbs," Tai Shu Yi said calmly as she looked at Tai Shu Reincarnation. "She'll come back once she's done and had her fun. There's no need for you to get so worked up every time. Next time, I'll have the sword guards protect her in secret."
Seeing the situation, Tai Shu Yi could only shake her head and leave.
As Zuo Dao walked along, observing the familiar yet unfamiliar scenery around him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder despite having experienced several illusions. The magic of this world was truly incredible.
Meanwhile, Tai Shu Yun kept stealing glances at Zuo Dao. She noticed him frowning at times and smiling brightly at others, which struck her as odd. This person had such rich emotions!
"If you have any questions, just ask directly. Stop sneaking glances at me, even though I know I'm quite handsome," Zuo Dao said, aware of Tai Shu Yun's thoughts. Since they were bound to interact anyway, he figured it was better to do so now.
"Who are you? Why do I feel a sense of familiarity with you even though I've never seen you before?" Tai Shu Yun had been wanting to ask this question for a while, and now she finally spoke up.
"I am Zuo Dao. As for why you feel familiar with me, I don't know either. But soon enough, we'll get to know each other better."
"Why?"
"Because I'm going to Spirit Sword Mountain."
Upon hearing this, Tai Shu Yun immediately became alert, and her gaze towards Zuo Dao changed.
"It seems this girl isn't as careless as she appears," Zuo Dao thought to himself as he observed everything.
"What do you want to do at Spirit Sword Mountain? You're not in cahoots with those three people ahead, are you? I can tell you that such tricks won't work on this fairy."
"Alright, alright, I know it won't work on you. But I really am going to Spirit Sword Mountain," Zuo Dao said playfully, feeling a childlike urge to tease this beautiful woman.
"What exactly do you want to do?" Tai Shu Yun asked, keeping a wary eye on Zuo Dao as he approached.
"Nothing much, just going to Spirit Sword Mountain to sell a few types of pills," Zuo Dao replied, secretly amused by Tai Shu Yun's reaction.
"Sell pills?" Tai Shu Yun's anger flared up immediately; it felt like an outright provocation.
Who didn't know that the Witch of Spirit Sword Mountain was the most likely candidate to become a Dan Master?
Who didn't know that the Witch of Spirit Sword Mountain had already reached Fifth-Rank Alchemist at such a young age?
And who didn't know that the Witch of Spirit Sword Mountain was the most outstanding beauty Alchemist in the Spirit Sword Continent?
Going to Spirit Sword Mountain to sell pills was simply too arrogant, too audacious, too conceited, and utterly disrespectful.
"What kind of pills could you possibly have that we don't at Spirit Sword Mountain? Are you doing this on purpose? Trying to get my attention? Let me tell you, that trick has been used by others long ago."
"Life Essence Herb, Sword Spirit Pill," Zuo Dao replied without further debate, naming the two types of pills directly.
"What!" Tai Shu Yun shrieked, her high-pitched voice nearly piercing Zuo Dao's eardrums.
"Calm down, calm down. What's so shocking about it? It's just those two pills," Zuo Dao said, unceremoniously digging at his ears.
In a flash, Tai Shu Yun darted in front of Zuo Dao, looking a bit shy as she spoke.
"Um, handsome, do you really have those two types of pills?"
"I'm being completely honest with you, there isn't any right now, but once we reach Spirit Sword Mountain, there will be," Zuo Dao insisted, adopting a demeanor that demanded trust.
"What?" Tai Shu Yun felt as if Zuo Dao was mocking her. What did it mean that there was none now but there would be once they ascended the mountain?
"This." Zuo Dao glanced at the increasingly agitated Tai Shu Yun.
"Isn't that Spirit Grass in your hand? And Spirit Sword Grass is in Spirit Sword Cave, right? Once we get up the mountain and refine it, won't we have it?"
It seemed so simple, as if Spirit Sword Mountain already possessed these two types of elixirs.
"How do you know that?" Tai Shu Yun's tone turned cold.
Only her grandfather, uncle, and she knew about the Spirit Sword Grass in Spirit Sword Cave. The implications of this herb were too significant; they had never dared to speak of it outside.
"I just know. Don't worry, I have no ill intentions towards you all at Spirit Sword Mountain. If I were to act against you, Huang Xishi would surely kill me." At that moment, Zuo Dao's mind involuntarily conjured the image of Huang Xishi.
"Xi Shi, wait for me. I'm coming."
"What? Sister Huang? You know Sister Huang? But why have I never heard her mention you?" Tai Shu Yun's curiosity and the Gossiping Flame within her were reignited by Zuo Dao's words.
"What? Sister Huang?" Zuo Dao suddenly realized something was amiss upon hearing Tai Shu Yun's response.
"Yes, Sister Huang, and that dead girl Feng Miaomiao. We three are very close friends." Tai Shu Yun found it strange why Zuo Dao reacted so strongly when mentioning her Sister Huang.
"Isn't Xi Shi Feng Miaomiao's master?" Zuo Dao asked tentatively.
"What?" Tai Shu Yun laughed upon hearing this. "You've got to be kidding me! Who told you that Sister Huang is Feng Girl's master? I can't take it anymore; if Feng Girl finds out, she'll definitely come after you."
"Uh, well..." Zuo Dao finally realized where the misunderstanding lay.
Returning to a familiar place, everything felt different. The Great Dream Mirror remained the Great Dream Mirror; if it could perfectly replicate the world, it wouldn't be an illusion.
"Forget it, let's go. Let's head up the mountain." He decided not to dwell on this matter any longer. If they weren't master and disciple, wasn't that even better?
Zuo Dao thought wickedly and couldn't help but blurt out, "Phoenix Soars Together!"
"Hey, how do you know their titles?" Tai Shu Yun responded to Zuo Dao's words.
"Right! It must have been Sister Huang who told you. I wish I could be part of Phoenix Soars Together too!"
Listening to Tai Shu Yun's voice, Zuo Dao felt a rush of warmth in his nostrils.
He turned red.
