With the guidance of the Bie Xue True Immortal, Zuo Dao felt as if he had been injected with adrenaline. Armed with a systematic cultivation method, his progress was rapid. The immortal was undoubtedly a formidable presence.
Although he later learned that this Bie Xue True Immortal was not the original, but rather a fragment of consciousness fused with the Wangfeng Platform's Source, Zuo Dao did not mind. Having an elder at home is like having a treasure, especially one that had lived for tens of thousands of years.
However, sometimes this Antique could be quite unreliable. The spells imparted to Zuo Dao were riddled with errors.
The Bie Xue True Immortal felt helpless about this.
As a fragment of consciousness from the true Bie Xue True Immortal, his existence was meant to await Zuo Dao's arrival. However, due to Zuo Dao's delayed appearance over the course of tens of thousands of years, this fragment of consciousness gradually merged with the Wangfeng Platform's Source, resulting in a new Bie Xue True Immortal.
The Wangfeng Platform had originally been refined by the Bie Xue True Immortal, so the fusion process went smoothly. The original intent of the Bie Xue True Immortal was to provide guidance and pass down the teachings of the Wangfeng Platform. But changes occurred, and the new Bie Xue True Immortal was born as a unique entity with independent consciousness.
While the Wangfeng Platform retained its function as a repository of knowledge, the aspect of guidance was lost.
Now, the Bie Xue True Immortal was quite content; after tens of thousands of years of solitude, he was finally liberated from it and no longer needed to converse with flowers, plants, insects, birds, and beasts.
Of course, he still remembered the tasks left behind and diligently taught Zuo Dao.
Because of this, the new Bie Xue True Immortal had many ideas but executed very few. He focused on imparting various knowledge to Zuo Dao based on his own experiences, which led to problems.
At first, it was manageable; Zuo Dao easily absorbed some basic concepts. However, when it came to teaching spells, both were left dumbfounded.
One completely clueless and the other pretending to understand. During this time, Zuo Dao suffered injuries—he bled, broke meridians, fractured bones, and tore flesh. After enduring numerous hardships, Zuo Dao finally realized that this Bie Xue True Immortal was nothing but a charlatan—a grand charlatan at that.
Fortunately, the Bie Xue True Immortal had left behind the Wangfeng Platform for the purpose of passing down knowledge and had thus created a wealth of books and jade slips. Zuo Dao managed to find them, freeing himself from his current painful predicament.
The books and jade slips left behind by Bie Xue True Immortal were numerous and all-encompassing, covering everything related to Celestial Cultivation.
To Zuo Dao's surprise, Bie Xue Xian Ren was a great deceiver when it came to cultivation, yet he had inhuman achievements in alchemy and artifact crafting, which might be related to his background.
During the first year at Wangfeng Platform, Zuo Dao endured pain, with his only achievement being the increasingly monstrous state of his body. In the second year, he gradually discovered the inheritance functions of Wangfeng Platform and began formal training.
As the new master of Wangfeng Platform, Zuo Dao ruthlessly stripped Bie Xue Xian Ren of his powers. He felt uneasy about leaving things in the hands of such a deceiver; he worried that he might be kicked out at any moment if Bie Xue Xian Ren decided to act against him. Only by having everything under control could he feel at ease.
The space within Wangfeng Platform formed its own realm, a result of Bie Xue Zhenren's painstaking efforts.
In addition to basic learning, Zuo Dao also discovered areas suitable for combat; Bie Xue Xian Ren informed him that these were part of the Trial Space.
Zuo Dao finally understood that Wangfeng Platform was merely a training base and not meant for battle. This realization left him feeling somewhat bored, but he was met with a barrage of mockery from Bie Xue Xian Ren.
Everything around him felt both incredible and entirely natural. The incredible things were events, while the natural ones were objects. No matter how unbelievable something was, it ultimately belonged to him.
Bie Xue Xian Ren finally experienced Zuo Dao's limitless potential. Being with someone like him made him wonder if he would suddenly reveal his true form under stimulation.
With his cultivation now on track, Zuo Dao grew rapidly.
He mastered various foundational techniques, and within just over a year, his greatest gain was the expansion of his knowledge. The more he learned, the more he sensed the extraordinary nature of Bie Xue True Immortal, which only fueled his curiosity.
Of course, Zuo Dao did not forget about his comrades in the peak. With a basic assurance that Bie Xue Xian Ren would not create any more blunders, Zuo Dao brought in his master and Yan Zhen among others.
A group of people was inexplicably pulled into Wangfeng Platform by Zuo Dao. After the initial shock, they quickly returned to normal.
The Drunken Old Man naturally struck up a friendship with Bie Xue Xian Ren, whose wine was irresistible to the Drunken Old Man.
Everyone began a new round of cultivation under Zuo Dao's guidance.
During this time, Yan Zhen and the others, with the help of Bie Xue Xian Ren, all stepped into the Fate Wheel Realm and entered the ranks of Cultivators. Bie Xue Xian Ren gradually became more reliable, thanks in large part to the Drunken Old Man. With his presence, Bie Xue Xian Ren, once a "theoretical expert," began to evolve into a "practical practitioner." Of course, as the White Mouse in this scenario, Zuo Dao and the others were inevitably subjected to rigorous training.
However, the benefits were evident; their improved strength was the best proof. Even the most hot-tempered Yan Zi behaved obediently in front of Bie Xue Xian Ren now. From time to time, she would massage his shoulders and back, serving the immortal beautifully.
Wangfeng Platform offered two choices for experience:
Demon Cave.
The Demon Cave only housed one type of creature—demons.
These creatures had never appeared in any ancient texts from Moling but were extensively documented in Wangfeng Platform. The characteristics of demons: brutal and bloodthirsty, they fed on the flesh and blood of any living being.
The demons in the cave were similar but more cunning than these creatures. Individually, demons might not be able to defeat a demon, but in group battles, they could easily overpower demons of the same level.
Most importantly, Bie Xue True Immortal subtly mentioned in his notes that they could contend with immortals and gods.
Now, Zuo Dao and the others had to make a choice between the two options. After much consideration, they decided on their first target for the Experience: the Demon Cave.
The first Experience ended in a disastrous defeat, with The Six from Zuo Wang retreating from the Demon Cave in disarray, all of them injured.
No one expected that inside the Demon Cave lay an endless starry sky. The stars, usually only seen by looking up at the heavens, now seemed within reach. Each star sparkled like a precious gem against the void.
"It's so beautiful!!!" The Yan Zi sisters gazed in awe, their eyes glazed over as if they were fools. Teng Chong was filled with shock, and even the usually composed Yan Zhen lost her composure at that moment.
Only Zuo Dao remained clear-headed; his past experiences had given him a fleeting sense of wonder.
But this was not the time for wonder.
"Fight!" A deep shout pulled everyone back from their reverie.
In the distance, a figure rushed toward them at high speed.
"It's a demon." Yan Zhen drew her sword, standing like a war goddess in front of the group.
A humanoid monster, entirely black as ink, appeared in their sight.
It resembled the image left in the jade slip. The demon had a single horn on its forehead, blood-red eyes, and nostrils that seemed to be mere holes due to regression. A pair of fangs protruded from its mouth. From head to toe, it looked like a giant crocodile standing upright, with sturdy limbs that seemed to harbor immense strength.
Though demons were the lowest existence among their kind, at that moment, they posed an overwhelming pressure on The Six from Zuo Wang.
"Such a strong opponent."
"Such powerful strength."
"Such a strong body."
"What an ugly monster."
"How disgusting!"
The crowd offered their evaluations.
"The show has begun." Zuo Dao moved, charging straight at the demon.
The battle erupted in an instant.
It was only when the fight started that The Six from Zuo Wang truly felt the might of their adversary.
Yan Zhen's unstoppable Sword Edge was intercepted by the opponent;
Teng Chong's defense was shattered by a single punch;
Before his leg could even kick out, he was sent flying by a tail swipe.
Yan Zi's fists struck against the opponent's body, creating a shower of sparks, only to be knocked back in return.
Yan Hong's Spring Silkworm Finger technique was forcefully torn apart.
Only Zuo Dao managed to withstand a blow with his True Martial Body, but he still sustained some injuries.
It was powerful.
In a single clash, The Six from Zuo Wang were forced to retreat. For the time that followed, it became a stage performance for the demons. In the end, Zuo Dao had no choice but to lead the team off the battlefield.
The first trial ended in a crushing defeat.
It also made The Six from Zuo Wang realize that the Trial Grounds were truly a life-and-death struggle, where one could get hurt, bleed, or even die.
After experiencing their first failure, the six of them charged into the Demon Cave multiple times, returning each time with nothing to show for it. However, every failure brought them invaluable experience.
The Six from Zuo Wang continued to grow through battle.
Three years had passed.
