This was truly a classic case of self-inflicted drama! The Six Princess and Lu Mingzhan were meticulously staging a tragic scene in the Pavilion on the mountain, their eyes filled with scheming intent, hoping to stir Yun Qingyu's heart and make her reconsider. Every expression and movement seemed rehearsed to perfection.
Yet, Yun Qingyu remained utterly indifferent, like an unyielding iceberg. Their frustration turned to rage, and they even contemplated murder.
In secret, they drove the poisonous snakes away from the mountain, their eyes glinting with malice, wishing for Yun Qingyu to meet her end in their fangs, as if that would solve all their problems.
However, they could never have anticipated that Yun Qingyu possessed a remarkable ability to tame beasts.
Before her, not only the mere snakes but even the ferocious tigers of the mountain would obediently heed her command, as if she were the sovereign of all creatures.
With an air of calmness, Yun Qingyu raised her hand and snapped her fingers. The gesture was elegant and casual; in an instant, the snake swarm seemed to receive a command and swiftly surrounded the Six Princess and Lu Mingzhan. They writhed menacingly but did not attack.
The dense mass of snakes shimmered with a cold light, their hissing sounds intertwining like a symphony from hell. The noise grew louder and more chaotic, enough to terrify anyone into a state of panic, leaving only their wandering souls behind.
This could serve as a small lesson for them, Yun Qingyu thought to herself, a smirk of disdain curling at the corners of her mouth.
At that moment, the Six Princess was already paralyzed with fear, completely forgetting the gentle and kind persona she had so carefully crafted.
Her face turned as pale as paper, devoid of color, her eyes wide with terror. In a panic, she turned and sprinted down the mountain, her footsteps frantic and hurried as she screamed at the top of her lungs, "Help! Save me! There are snakes!"
Her voice became sharp and piercing with fear, echoing through the mountains and shattering the previous tranquility.
Meanwhile, by the water's edge, the noble ladies and gentlemen had finally managed to see Yun Qingyu off. They were eager to showcase their talents at this poetry gathering and fully enjoy this rare occasion.
At that moment, the second cup of wine from the Riverside Poetry Gathering fortuitously stopped in front of Wen Zhan. He was just about to rise, elegantly brushing off his sleeves, preparing to compose a poem. Suddenly, a piercing scream echoed through the mountains.
Everyone was drawn to the unexpected sound, turning their gazes toward the direction of the mountains with expressions of confusion. Some furrowed their brows slightly, while others paused their actions. Someone murmured softly, "It sounds like Six Princess. What happened to her? Did she provoke Princess Consort again?"
Another person chimed in, "No, I think I heard Six Princess shout about a snake."
Upon hearing this, everyone was taken aback and exchanged anxious glances, worry flashing in their eyes. They all knew that the mountains were home to many insects and snakes, but as long as one didn't venture deep into the forest, they shouldn't encounter any snakes.
After all, there had been numerous Flowing Water Poetry Gatherings held here in previous years without any incidents involving snake attacks. What could have gone wrong this time? A sense of foreboding surged within them, as if something ominous was about to unfold.
