Xunuo currently had a sufficient supply of elixirs. During this time, he had not only procured a considerable amount of medicinal herbs but had also planted the ingredients for Several Unity Pills in the Spirit Domain. Therefore, he felt confident about his cultivation after escaping.
Now, it was a matter of waiting out the Black Wind Old Monster, seeing who would lose their composure first. In the meantime, he needed to improve his cultivation as much as possible. To escape the clutches of the Black Wind Old Monster, luck, cunning, and strength were all essential. Feeling uneasy, Xunuo decided to visit Dai Tianqi's cave. Upon seeing Xunuo emerge from seclusion, Dai Tianqi was delighted and began reminiscing about old times.
After some casual conversation, Xunuo steered the topic toward his concerns. "During my three months in seclusion, has anything noteworthy happened?"
Dai Tianqi replied, "Nothing fresh, but there is one significant event."
Xunuo quickly asked, "In a place where killing someone is as easy as slaughtering a chicken, what could possibly be considered significant?"
Dai Tianqi took out a Formation Flag and waved it, activating the array outside the cave. He then spoke softly, "Last night, a group of cultivators arrived from Chaotic Valley, led by an old monster at the Foundation Establishment Stage. They went straight to the Three Sacred Mountains, and it was quite restless there last night. This morning, all three forces have sent word to the Valley Master’s envoy stationed at the castle. This has never happened before."
Upon hearing this, Xunuo's eyes lit up; he knew that an opportunity to escape Chaotic Valley had arrived. He instructed Dai Tianqi to remain quietly in the cave and not to leave while he quickly made his way to Heavenly Dragon Society to gather information.
When Xunuo arrived at Heavenly Dragon Society, Xi Dao Jing had not yet returned. After waiting for about an hour, Xi Dao Jing finally returned with several high-ranking members of Heavenly Dragon Society. Upon seeing Xunuo's visit, Xi Dao Jing hurriedly apologized and offered him warm hospitality. Xunuo explained that he had come to pay his respects after emerging from seclusion and then shifted the conversation toward recent events.
Xi Dao Jing dismissed the others and quietly spoke to Xunuo about the matter.
It turned out that Dai Tianqi was not lying. Last night, a group of Cultivators from a certain Cultivation Sect caused a commotion at the Three Sacred Mountains. They threatened the Three Valley Masters of Chaotic Valley to help them track down a traitor. This traitor had stolen a treasured item from their sect and escaped. The sect dispatched disciples to hunt down the traitor, and recently there were reports of sightings near Chaotic Valley. The group followed the trail to Chaotic Valley.
This traitorous disciple was said to have stolen a Tracking Talisman. This was merely a rumor and not confirmed. However, the individual's portrait had been distributed among various factions. As Xi Dao Jing spoke, he unfolded a portrait.
Upon seeing the portrait, Xunuo nearly dropped it. He forced himself to remain calm and said, “This person looks unfamiliar; he doesn’t seem like someone from the valley.”
Xi Dao Jing replied, “Of course not, and this person could not have entered the valley. Not long ago, the Black Dragon Society was excessively ruthless in their attacks on outside Cultivators. Ninety percent of them perished at their hands. This traitor is either dead on the way or has fallen into the hands of the Black Dragon Society. We are merely going through the motions of an investigation; it’s unlikely we will achieve anything.”
After thinking for a moment, Xunuo said, “Actually, this chaos is beneficial for me. I have an enemy in the Black Dragon Society, and this is a perfect opportunity to eliminate him amidst the turmoil.”
Xi Dao Jing chuckled and said, “Such rough work doesn’t require Xue Dao You’s involvement; I can send one of my subordinates to handle it. However, if it’s Black Wind Daoist, I advise you to abandon that thought.”
“It’s not Black Wind Old Monster. Though I hate him deeply, I know my limitations. The target of my revenge is another Cultivator. But I must personally deal with him to quell my hatred; please refrain from suggesting someone else take my place. Just provide me with information on his whereabouts,” replied Xunuo.
With a grin, Xi Dao Jing took out a jade slip and asked, “Who are you looking for? Show me, and I’ll find his location.”
Taking the jade slip, Xunuo probed it with his Divine Sense. He discovered that it contained detailed records of all personnel from the Black Dragon Society, complete with images and written information.
Instantly, he pointed out one individual to Xi Dao Jing, saying, “This is the person.”
In response, Xi Dao Jing took out a Tracking Talisman and tossed it into the air. The talisman immediately transformed into a compass, with a glaring red dot flickering erratically on its surface.
Xi Dao Jing gazed for a moment and said, "This person is deep in the southwest of the Desert Sea. It seems he is still engaged in killing and plundering."
Xunuo confirmed the specific direction and approximate location of this Cultivator and was about to take his leave from Xi Dao Jing.
Xi Dao Jing hurriedly stopped Xunuo and said, "Xue Dao You, wait a moment. That location is already far from the protection of Chaotic Valley. You, as an Alchemist, will not be under the protection of Chaotic Valley in such a place. Moreover, members of the Black Dragon Society usually go out to plunder in groups. Xi Dao Jing smiled and said, "That's right. It is taken from the batch of Unity Pills that Xue Dao You refined during the trial in the Desert Sea. This item is called Dan Lei; it is made by infusing Thunderfire power into the Unity Pill. The method of refining Dan Lei is unique to Crimson Flame Hall. From that batch of Unity Pills, only two Dan Lei were produced. I gift this one to you in hopes that it will assist you."
Xunuo thought to himself that with the Three Talents Confining Dragon Formation assisting him, he could handle three or five Foundation Stage Practitioners easily. However, receiving this powerful artifact unexpectedly made him accept it graciously. Even though this Dan Lei was a one-time consumable artifact, its power was enough to save his life in a critical situation.
