Xunuo knew that his magical power was weak. Having sustained injuries, if he tried to escape through normal means, he would inevitably be caught by his opponent, which would be a fate worse than death. Therefore, Xunuo planned to lure the Goat Elder into the Gorge to kill the Silverback Black Wolf. 0

The Gorge was thick with miasma, and Xunuo's Divine Sense was hindered, preventing him from probing too far. It was here that he might leverage his strengths to survive against the odds, or even seize the opportunity to ambush. 0

Xunuo gathered his strength and sprinted, quickly reaching the miasma-filled Gorge. He knew the Goat Elder was closely following behind and dared not delay; he plunged into the Gorge. With a wave of his hand, he unleashed a Fire Manipulation Technique, transforming it into a Sea of Fire that sealed off the entrance. The Goat Elder followed closely behind Xunuo. Seeing that Xunuo had used fire to block the entrance, he had no choice but to extinguish the flames before rushing into the Gorge. 0

To Xunuo, this Gorge was an unknown territory as a novice in the Cultivation world. However, the Goat Elder was well aware of its significance. In fact, this towering cliff that spanned heaven and earth was an ancient formation built by powerful beings to separate the Human and Demon Clans. Beyond this cliff lay what was referred to in the Cultivation world as the Ten Thousand Great Mountains. Within it was a paradise for demon beasts, and there were even legendary great demons rumored to have cultivated demon cores. 0

It was said that during the ancient war between the Human and Demon Clans, humanity emerged victorious and claimed most of the world. The demon race took refuge in the Ten Thousand Great Mountains, leading to a stalemate. Later on, for another matter, the Human and Demon Clans made peace and joined forces once. Afterward, this arrangement was established: the Ten Thousand Great Mountains belonged solely to the demon race while all other territories were designated for humanity. 0

As time passed and circumstances changed, there were still some disputes between the Human and Demon Clans; however, this arrangement remained intact. The conflicts that arose after their peace were often instigated by the demon race. 0

If demons possessed Intelligence, managing them would be much easier. As long as their interests were clearly explained, even if they harbored some resentment towards humanity, they would have to restrain themselves in light of humanity's overwhelming strength in front of. However, those demon beasts without Intelligence posed a greater problem. These low-level beasts acted purely on instinct and frequently invaded human territories to seize livestock. If they consumed a few mortals or disciples from small sects, it could be overlooked. But if they offended some major Cultivation Sects severely enough, those powerful sects would rally together with others who had suffered at the hands of these beasts under the banner of exterminating evil. 0

Any Cultivation Sect with some influence could raise such a banner and attract numerous supporters. It wasn't just those directly affected by demon beasts participating; often hundreds of sects with thousands or even tens of thousands of participants would join in. This wasn't due to any strong sense of justice or camaraderie among these unrelated sects; rather, most sects took advantage of their numbers to venture into the mountains seeking treasure and hunting for Demon Beast Materials and inner cores. 0

Although within their ranks, demons did not regard these unintelligent beasts as kin, they understood that these creatures formed the foundation of their race and dared not allow humanity to exterminate them too thoroughly for fear of harming their own roots. They could only reignite conflict until both sides were exhausted and realized they could not afford further losses. 0

After several rounds of fighting, both sides began to feel overwhelmed. Although more demons had been lost, their reproductive capabilities were strong—especially among lower-level beasts who bred without restraint. Thus, when all was said and done, losses on both sides were roughly equal. 0

Fortunately, after several skirmishes, neither side's high-end combat power suffered significant losses. However, this did raise alarms among powerful beings from both Human and Demon Clans who feared that prolonged conflict would eventually harm their elite forces. At that point, should other factions take advantage of their weakened state, it would be too late for regrets. 0

At the edge of the Ten Thousand Mountains, the powerful beings of the Human and Demon Clans expended vast resources to cast a formidable spell, establishing a massive formation that elevated the terrain by a hundred feet. 0

This formation was a limited one-way Restriction array. In simple terms, any cultivator from the human side below the Foundation Establishment Stage could enter the Ten Thousand Mountains from any point. However, those from the demon side could not exit. Furthermore, any human cultivator who passed through the formation into demon territory could not return by the same route; they had to go through the gorge that Xunuo was currently entering to return to human lands. 0

There were seven such passages across the Restriction array that spanned between the Human and Demon Clans. Within the Ten Thousand Mountains, those demon beasts that had not yet developed Intelligence could only enter human territory through these seven passages. The demons had already stationed intelligent demon beasts at these passages to guard them. This arrangement effectively prevented lower-level demon beasts from intruding into human lands and causing chaos, allowing both clans to coexist peacefully for countless years. 0

The human powers designed this array as a one-way Restriction formation with the intention of allowing young disciples of the human clan to venture into the Ten Thousand Mountains for training. However, events unfolded that made them realize: while their aspirations were beautiful, reality was harsh. 0

It turned out that only disciples at the Qi Refinement Stage could pass through the formation into the Ten Thousand Mountains. Inside, there were demon beasts of all levels. Those novice cultivators who entered with a mindset for training quickly became prey for numerous demon beasts. Those who managed to reach the passage found themselves surrounded by even more waiting beasts. After a brutal hunt, only one managed to escape with a Boundary Token gifted by a senior, while the rest were torn apart without a trace. 0

This was the first and only training expedition organized by humans since establishing the isolation array between the Human and Demon Clans. No sect dared to undertake such a reckless venture again. 0

Instead, some Loose Cultivators frequently gathered friends to organize small-scale hunts for Demon Beast Materials. These activities were small in scale and posed little threat, making it difficult for demons to guard against them. Thus, they simply chose not to defend against these sporadic incursions. Operating under the principle that if you can take it away safely, do so; if not, then it's just meat for others, these adventurers left their fates to chance. 0

The guards at these passages were always intelligent demon beasts but never ones that had formed Demon Pills. While cultivators above Foundation Establishment Stage could not breach other parts of this formation, they could at these passages. Ordinary Demon Beast Materials held little allure for higher-level cultivators; however, Demon Beast Inner Pills were an entirely different matter. The demons feared that high-level practitioners might infiltrate their territory to kill demons and seize their pills. 0

For those demon beasts without Intelligence, having a Fourth-Level Beast guarding here was enough to deter them. It is important to note that even intelligent demon beasts remained beasts at heart; when hungry, they would readily consume lower-level beasts. 0

If Xunuo had attempted to enter the Ten Thousand Mountains from another location, Goat Elder would never have dared to pursue him inside. He understood that with his own abilities, entering those mountains would be tantamount to offering himself as food. However, now that Xunuo had entered this passage, Goat Elder felt confident that if he could kill Xunuo within it, he might still escape unscathed. 0

Unbeknownst to Xunuo were these historical precedents. He initially thought this gorge would be spacious enough for him to employ some tactics; little did he know it was merely a straight path with no detours. As Goat Elder closed in behind him, Xunuo had no choice but to run desperately forward. 0

After running for what felt like an incense stick's worth of time, a glimmer of light suddenly appeared ahead. Realizing he was about to exit the gorge filled him with renewed hope for survival. He dashed up an incline and leaped out of the gorge. The confinement on his Mind Power dissipated instantly, and Xunuo's Divine Sense spread out like a hurricane unleashed. 0

In the next moment, Xunuo soared in the direction of Pale Gray. It turned out that a Fourth-Level Earthsplitter Boar was guarding the Passage Entrance. A Fourth-Level Beast was comparable in magical power to a Foundation Stage Cultivator of the human race. In fact, in certain innate instincts, it surpassed Cultivators of the same level. 0
