Suddenly, Jade Fetus felt a flash before its eyes as Wei Ning rushed past it with incredible speed, wrapping his arms around Qing. At that moment, Qing's expression softened slightly as she exhaled a breath of foul air and murmured in Wei Ning's embrace, "I knew you would come to save me." 0

Wei Ning glared at the Gu Master, saying, "What use is it to keep such a menace alive? You raise such monsters in Phoenix Mountain; don't you fear retribution?" 0

The leading Gu Master stomped his foot and retorted, "You fool! Jade Fetus won't rest until it gets the brain marrow it desires. Hurry and give it what it wants!" 0

Wei Ning replied, "If it wants to eat you, then you should willingly offer yourself." 0

"Exactly!" the Gu Master exclaimed. 0

Wei Ning's heart sank; he had not anticipated such malicious Soul Refinement techniques that would lead one to disregard their own life. 0

"This girl has a wicked heart, willing to betray even her master. You still support her? A woman like that deserves to die," the Gu Master sneered. 0

Wei Ning replied calmly, "This matter is between me and Phoenix Maiden. I simply do not wish to see this Evil Spirit causing trouble." 0

Jade Fetus, deprived of its offering, suddenly looked fierce, revealing a row of milk teeth while its underdeveloped hands flailed in front of itself. The Gu Master's face turned anxious as he urged, "You must give Jade Fetus the chosen Gu Master quickly; otherwise, it will no longer be under my control!" The Gu Master was frantic, stomping his feet repeatedly. 0

Qing slowly regained her senses in Wei Ning's arms and tightened her grip around him. 0

At that moment, an unexpected dull sound echoed from somewhere, and the Heart tied to the pillar began to compress violently, producing a series of loud thuds. The leading Gu Master turned pale and shouted, "This is bad; the Phoenix Deity is angry!" 0

Suddenly, countless Black Serpents began to thrash about wildly as if they had lost their heads. Various snakes, insects, and rodents underground started to stir restlessly as if anticipating an earthquake, fleeing in all directions. Wei Ning felt a chill run down his spine as countless vines began to twist and coil on the ground. The honeycomb-like pit started to tremble ominously, emitting a roar akin to a giant beast's growl. In an instant, debris flew everywhere as the Gu Masters screamed in terror and scattered. 0

The leading Gu Master was now pale with fear; she quickly knelt on the ground and repeatedly bowed her head, pleading, "Spare us, Divine Lord! We were wrong!" Just then, a vine shot forth like a sharp blade and pierced her Heart, lifting her high into the air. 0

At that moment, more vines began to wrap around Wei Ning. He felt a sense of urgency as the wind howled around him. Stepping onto Yubu, he took three steps in nine traces and swiftly dashed towards Qianqiu while holding onto Qing. "We need to get out of here first," he said. 0

However, Qianqiu hesitated. When Wei Ning turned back to look, he saw one of Qianqiu's feet ensnared by a vine. Wei Ning transformed his hand into a blade and struck down fiercely; yet the vine did not break. Panic surged within him as rocks flew chaotically in the cave. Several slower Gu Masters were crushed beneath falling stones, their bones shattered and blood spilling everywhere. Wei Ning tossed Qing into the cave but did not expect that Jade Fetus was already waiting there. With a flick of its tongue, it ensnared Qing. 0

"Damn it!" Wei Ning cursed under his breath as he turned back to rescue Qing. He pointed at Jade Fetus's tongue with precision; Jade Fetus shuddered violently and loosened its grip on Qing. Seizing the opportunity, Wei Ning pulled Qing up and threw her into the air. 0

Just then, an intense gust of wind surged from somewhere unknown, carrying flying stones toward Wei Ning like projectiles. A thick vine swept toward Qing like a giant serpent's tail. Wei Ning swiftly darted forward and caught Qing just in time, narrowly avoiding the vine's strike. Terrified, Qing buried her face in Wei Ning's chest and clung tightly to him without daring to look up. Utilizing his Blood Corpse form along with Zhu You's footwork technique, Wei Ning struck several vines with pinpoint accuracy and propelled himself upward until he finally reached an opening where he paused with Qing in his arms. His heart calmed slightly until suddenly the ground beneath him collapsed. 0

Wei Ning stepped into thin air and fell like a kite with its string cut amidst rushing winds. He attempted to grab onto a vine but found nothing within reach. With a loud crash, he landed heavily on the ground while still holding onto Qing. 0

"Damn it!" Wei Ning exclaimed in frustration as he stood up only to realize he had fallen into an unfathomable dark pit where even his keen eyesight struggled to adjust for a moment. 0

Qing stood up from Wei Ning's embrace, looking around in confusion. She tightened her grip on Wei Ning's hand and asked timidly, "Where are we?" 0

Wei Ning had just saved Qing out of a sense of humanitarianism, but he still felt a strong aversion towards her. He abruptly pulled his hand away and replied coldly, "How would I know? It's all the doing of your Phoenix Mountain people." 0

Qing remained calm and unbothered, smiling as she said, "Brother Wei Ning, as long as you're here, I'm not afraid." 0

As Wei Ning gradually adjusted to the darkness, his Yin Eye began to discern their surroundings. Although everything was still blurry, they were enclosed by dark stone walls that resembled the inside of a well, trapping them there. Qing cheerfully pulled out a lighter, finally bringing light into the space. She led Wei Ning around for a bit until she suddenly tripped over something on the ground. "Ouch!" she exclaimed, looking down to find the body of the deceased Gu Master. 0

"Damn it, you scared me," Qing said as she kicked the Gu Master's corpse. Wei Ning frowned and coldly admonished her, "Respect the dead; why are you treating her like that?" Qing swallowed her tongue and fell silent. 0

The two continued to search for an escape, but all around them were solid black stones that offered no way out. Wei Ning tested the stone with his hands; it was incredibly hard, and even with his Blood Corpse body, he could only leave a few faint marks on the wall. 0

After walking for a long time, Wei Ning glanced at Qing. The flame from her lighter was flickering precariously, about to go out at any moment. 0

"Let's take a break," Wei Ning sighed. "We'll definitely find a way out." 0

Qing didn't seem concerned and smiled brightly. "I believe in you, Brother Wei Ning." 0

They fell into silence for a while until Wei Ning eventually drifted off to sleep. He didn't know how long he had been asleep when he was suddenly awakened by a strange sound. 0

Opening his eyes, he saw a hazy figure in front of him that looked like Qing. She was chewing on something repeatedly. Straining his eyes further, he noticed that the dead Gu Master beside them was missing part of a leg. 0

"You!" Wei Ning trembled as he pointed at Qing. "You... you actually ate her!" 0

Qing looked at him and quickly swallowed what was in her mouth, hiding her hands behind her back. 0

Wei Ning shouted angrily, "What do you have in your hands? Show me!" 0

Qing hesitated but felt a chill run down her spine at his fury. Trembling slightly, she extended her hand forward to reveal what she held. To her, everything was just darkness. 0

Taking a step closer, Wei Ning finally saw that it was indeed a severed leg from the Gu Master. He took half a step back, staring at Qing with eyes almost filled with bloodlust as he pointed at her. "You enchantress! I shouldn't have saved you back then!" 0

Surprisingly, Qing did not argue back. She sighed and said softly, "Brother Wei Ning, if you don't eat it, we might starve to death here. We need strength to find our way out." 0

"But you..." Wei Ning recalled how Qing had just eaten human flesh, and his stomach churned. "But what you ate, was that human?" 0

Qing replied, "What else can we eat?" 0

"This..." Wei Ning forcefully waved his hand. "Is this... human?" 0

"Just eat it too," Qing said, lifting the piece of leg in the darkness. From her voice, she could roughly tell where Wei Ning was. "Otherwise, we'll both die." 0

"I won't eat! I'd rather die!" Wei Ning shouted angrily. 0

After that, Wei Ning ignored Qing and continued to search for an escape in the cave. Soon, he began to feel his insides revolting, and not long after, his stomach started growling. Yet he still refused to accept the human flesh Qing offered. 0

Qing often ate secretly behind Wei Ning's back, and he pretended not to notice because he knew he had no right to stop her from surviving. As time passed, Wei Ning began to feel dizzy and weak; hunger tormented him like a specter of death. 0

Meanwhile, Qing thrived on the nourishment of human flesh, becoming more lively. However, since Wei Ning ignored her, she lost interest in him as well. She understood that Wei Ning resented her and dared not provoke him easily. 0

After finishing this female corpse, would she eat me? 0

Wei Ning thought to himself. 0
