The Gu Master remained silent, waving his hand as a coffin slowly rose from the ground not far away. Wei Ning's heart tightened; he knew that the Gu Master was about to summon the Gu Corpse.
Wei Ning laughed loudly, "Playing God of Joy? My Wei Family is the true ancestor." With that, he cast a talisman from his hand, bringing his palms together in front of his chest like a lotus flower, continuously changing gestures while displaying an expression of great virtue. The Gu Master's face changed three times, murmuring, "Dual cultivation of life and death. How can a child who looks no more than twenty grasp such profound techniques?"
Dust swirled around them as if stirred by some unseen force, flying chaotically through the air. Even the Phoenix Tree began to emit faint sounds. The Gu Master shook the Phoenix Bell in his hand, and the Gu Corpse immediately obeyed, charging toward Wei Ning.
Wei Ning steadied himself. Just as the Gu Corpse was about to strike him in the face, he slightly shifted his body to the left. The Gu Corpse brushed past him, seemingly missing by mere millimeters. Wei Ning stepped onto the Crossing Dry Yubu stance, forming the Ziwei Seal with his hands. His movements were exquisite, as if he could shrink space itself. In an instant, he intertwined with the Gu Corpse, pointing outwards and envisioning the Thunder Messenger. He chanted loudly, "Seal spirit spirit, Jade Emperor's decree: drive away evil spirits, all evils retreat, humans return to faith, ghosts and demons submit, hastily as commanded." At that moment, the talisman he had cast in mid-air finally fell down and struck the Gu Corpse. Although light as a feather, it pressed down on the Gu Corpse with immense force.
Wei Ning retreated into a defensive stance, using his middle finger to hook and form seals. He stood firm like a rock while the Gu Corpse was gradually pressed into the ground by the talisman until its legs disappeared completely, leaving half of its body exposed.
This move was part of Wei Ning's superior Divine Mind Technique learned from Red Pearl. Since he was already in a primordial spirit state at that time, cultivating was much easier and faster than for ordinary practitioners. This technique was inspired by an old story of Wei Xian Gui using a leaf to crush a frog.
The Gu Corpse felt increasingly heavy while Wei Ning's expression grew more serene. The Gu Master snorted coldly and threw several Grains into the air; each one stuck to the Gu Corpse’s body and quickly seemed to drain its essence. The Gu Corpse began to sink as its body caved inwards while several Gu Worms broke free from the Grains and rushed toward Wei Ning.
Suddenly, Qianqiu shook the Phoenix Bell in her hand, causing both the Gu Corpse and Curse Poison to halt. The Gu Master glared at her angrily and said, "Qianqiu, are you truly betraying Phoenix Deity?"
Qianqiu's face turned pale but she remained silent.
So her name is Qianqiu, Wei Ning thought.
The Gu Master shook the Phoenix Bell again and said, "Qianqiu, we will settle this score later. For now, let us first pay tribute to this uninvited guest for the Spirit of the Cave."
Qianqiu shook her head and replied, "Qiqi and he were originally meant to be together; we were wrong from the start. Why must we continue making mistakes?"
"Hmph!" the Gu Master said angrily, "It seems this is not your place to take charge!"
Qianqiu was about to speak again when Wei Ning stopped her, saying, "No matter what, I must take Qiqi's soul away today. Please do not force me to take action. Phoenix Maiden—Qianqiu, step aside. I can handle these people myself."
Wei Ning and Phoenix Maiden exchanged a glance, determination shining in their eyes. The leading Gu Master scoffed, "What a joke! All the experts from Phoenix Mountain are here; I don't believe you can kill them all."
Wei Ning's expression turned cold. "Then let's give it a try."
The Gu Master waved his hand, and a row of Gu Masters stepped forward. The leading Gu Master pulled out a glass vial from his pocket, inside which was an oddly shaped fetus. The upper body and face were visible, but its hands and feet were not yet formed. Upon seeing it, Phoenix Maiden Qianqiu gasped, "Jade Fetus."
The leading Gu Master opened the glass vial, and the row of Gu Masters took out daggers, stabbing them into their own arms, creating gaping wounds! One by one, they reached into the glass vial, letting their blood drip inside. Soon, the vial began to bubble as if boiling water was inside. The leading Phoenix Maiden appeared extremely tense as she watched everything unfold. Suddenly, her hand slipped, and she accidentally dropped the Jade Fetus onto the ground.
Looking at the leading Phoenix Maiden now, her hands were charred black as if struck by lightning.
With a loud crash, the Jade Fetus hit the ground, and blood began to ooze out like thick oil. The Jade Fetus suddenly opened its eyes and glanced at a solitary girl in front of it. This Gu Master seemed to be enchanted as she walked forward in a daze. All the Gu Masters wore expressions of horror as this Gu Master approached the Jade Fetus. The Jade Fetus extended its tongue and pierced through this Gu Master's Spirit Cap; its tongue curled like a straw, sucking the brain matter into its mouth. The Jade Fetus closed its eyes in apparent enjoyment.
Qianqiu watched this terrifying scene with trembling voice, saying, "The Jade Fetus is not fully formed yet; you couldn't wait to release it. If something goes wrong, can you bear the consequences?"
The leading Gu Master snorted, "You are already a traitor within Phoenix Mountain; soon you will be offered to the Phoenix Tree along with your fate. The matter of the Jade Fetus no longer concerns you."
Qianqiu replied, "If Master knew of your reckless actions, he would surely not let you off."
At that moment, the Jade Fetus's eyes snapped open again, this time locking onto Qing. Qing's face turned pale as beads of sweat dripped from her forehead; she began to frantically hide among the crowd.
"This thing will be a disaster sooner or later. I might as well get rid of it," Wei Ning said, pinching the Yin symbol with her left hand and the Shangqing formula with her right. She shouted loudly, "I respectfully summon the Nine Phoenix Purifying Sage, Burning Filth General, and Exorcism General to descend upon the Altar and dispel the filth."
"Go, Wei Ning!" Qing Gaoxing clapped her hands, but she quickly retracted her enthusiasm when the Gu Master beside her shot her a fierce glare.
Wei Ning stepped onto the Nine Phoenixes' Breaking Filth Formation, reciting a word with each step: "Nine, Morning, Break, Filth, Evil, Essence, Extinguish, Perish." The nine words echoed through the cave like divine thunder, reverberating in the air. At that moment, a green aura began to manifest on Wei Ning's forehead. After finishing her incantation, she inhaled the green energy above and blew it forward.
