Wei Xian Gui glanced at Wei Qiuxi and coldly said, "Haven't you been looking for me for a long time? Why didn't Granny Wenmi tell you?"
It was then that Wei Qiuxi realized he had been targeted by Wei Xian Gui for quite some time. The reason for Wei's sudden appearance now was unclear.
As enemies met, Wei Qiuxi immediately attempted to rise and engage in combat with Wei Xian Gui. However, due to his injuries from earlier, when he had used internal fire to ignite a talisman to save Wei Ning, he found it difficult to breathe and could barely stand, let alone fight against a master like Wei Xian Gui.
Wei Ning stared at Wei Xian Gui and asked, "You've done so much harm, causing so many deaths. What is it all for?"
Wei Xian Gui pointed at Wei Ning and replied, "For you!"
"For me?" Wei Ning looked at Wei Xian Gui with a sneer. "Is it to achieve your own immortality?"
Wei Xian Gui smiled and glanced at Wei Qiuxi. "Is he with you?"
Wei Ning did not respond, but Wei Xian Gui could guess the answer. He shook his head and sighed, "Wei Qiuxi, why are you still so shortsighted even in death? What difficulty is there in achieving immortality?" His eyes sparkled with brilliance as he proudly clasped his hands behind his back. "I, Wei Xian Gui, do not covet immortality. What I want is to accomplish something that will make the old tremble. Once this is achieved, how hard can it be to revive the Wei Family? How difficult can it be to eliminate the Corpse Demon? Wei Xianjun, Wei Qiuxi, with your narrow-mindedness leading the way, how could the Wei Family not decline under your leadership?"
"Wei Xian Gui! No matter how you ramble on, I have one question: the curse of my family not dying until the age of twenty-seven was cast by you, wasn't it? You took my father’s and uncle’s Undying Bone, didn’t you?" Wei Ning shouted.
"Indeed!"
"What good can come of this? My ancestors are watching; today I, Wei Ning, will cleanse our ranks and eliminate the traitors." With that, Wei Ning activated his Yin-Yang Eye, wielding a sword in one hand and an umbrella in the other as he dashed towards Wei Xian Gui like lightning.
As a Blood Corpse himself, how could Wei Xian Gui be slow? In an instant, the two were locked in combat. Wei Xian Gui held back at every turn; each strike was just enough to keep things interesting. Amidst their banter, he easily disrupted Wei Ning's swordplay. "Who taught you these tricks? Do you dare to embarrass yourself before your great-grandfather? Step back," he said dismissively. With a wave of his hand, an immense pressure forced Wei Ning to retreat.
At this moment, Wei Xian Gui had already moved three yards away and shook his head. "With your current strength, you're simply no match for me. The techniques I taught you over the past three years are still sealed within you; they haven't awakened yet. If they did awaken, perhaps you could fight me. But right now..." He shook his head again. "You are not my opponent."
It was then that Wei Ning truly felt the might of Wei Xian Gui. No wonder such a remarkable figure as his grandfather and the ruthless Peng Bai were both rendered powerless by him; a sense of defeat surged within him.
"Wei Xian Gui said, 'You need not be so concerned. Your Blood Corpse form is stronger than mine, and given time, you will surely surpass me.'
Wei Ning coldly replied, 'One day, I will kill you!'
Suddenly, Wei Xian Gui shouted, 'Wei Ning, is this all you aspire to? Have you never considered the limits you might break through? If that is the case, I might as well kill you today and save myself the trouble of wasting effort on you.'
Wei Ning was puzzled; Wei Xian Gui was truly strange. Logically, he should be trying to seize the Undying Bone of the Wei Family disciples, yet he had chosen to spare her and even nurture her. What exactly were his intentions?
Wei Qiuxi reached into her pocket and pulled out more than twenty glowing red objects that spun in mid-air, radiating brilliant light and illuminating the surroundings with a dazzling glow.
Wei Qiuxi suddenly exclaimed, 'Undying Bone!'
'Correct!' Wei Xian Gui pointed at Wei Ning and declared, 'Child, you must understand that you are the god I am about to create! You will be the only god born of humanity in this world. You shall become a god, and I—shall be the one who creates gods!'
Wei Qiuxi's expression twisted as she murmured, 'Creating gods, creating gods... what on earth is this madman doing?'
Wei Xian Gui proclaimed loudly, 'Child, know this: for you, I have waited a full hundred years. For you, I have endured the scorn of my family and the misunderstanding of the world. All of this has been for you—for you, the god who is about to be born!'
Suddenly, Wei Qiuxi shouted, 'I understand now! I understand! You’ve gathered so many Undying Bones just to replace Wei Ning’s all at once, right?'
Wei Xian Gui glanced at Wei Qiuxi and said, 'Wei Qiuxi, you've been foolish your entire life, but at least you've finally shown some intelligence!'
'What an arrogant plan! What a vicious scheme! You've hidden for a hundred years just waiting for someone who could help you create a god, haven't you?'
'Indeed!' Wei Xian Gui nodded. 'However, there is one thing you've guessed wrong: the person I've been waiting for is not Wei Ning.'
"What!"
Wei Xian Gui sighed and said, "Choosing Wei Ning was a decision I had to make. Wei Ning, although you possess exceptional talent and are the closest to the body I desire after Wei Xianjun, you still..."
"This plan was originally meant to take a thousand years to set up. I intended to collect two hundred eighty-six Undying Bones, but things didn't go as I had calculated. When I woke up, I found that everything had changed."
"What do you mean?" Wei Qiuxi asked.
Wei Xian Gui bitterly chuckled to himself and said, "Plans can’t compare to reality; reality can’t compare to the plans of others. I originally thought my Wei Family would thrive—at least continue on, even if not prospering, to carry on this blood curse that claims lives at twenty-seven. Unfortunately, when I woke up, I discovered that only this child remains of the Wei Family." At this point, Wei Xian Gui suddenly slammed his fist down on a nearby rock, shattering it into pieces. "It's all because of that wretched national policy—family planning! It completely disrupted all my arrangements! A couple can only have one child! That's why only Wei Ning is left as the sole heir. If I were to take his Undying Bone, the entire Wei Family would truly perish. And my plans would become nothing but a fleeting illusion."
"So I had no choice but to change my original plan. First, I will use the power of Dragon Tiger Mountain to refine Wei Ning into a Blood Corpse. Then, by leveraging my conflict with Peng Bai, I'll resurrect Wei Ning in the land of absolute yin and nurture his corpse there. After that, I'll perform Soul Refinement with Drought Demon Essence. I believe that while Wei Ning may not qualify for godhood, he will at least possess the physique suitable for it."
Wei Qiuxi replied, "Regardless, you have slaughtered three generations of the Wei Family; how do you account for this blood debt?"
Wei Xian Gui waved his hands dismissively and said, "Nonsense! Wei Qiuxi, have you never considered what would happen if even one member of the Wei Family became a god? The saying goes that when one person ascends, even their chickens and dogs rise with them. You and I would benefit as well. Even those innocent members of the Wei Family who have died—if a 'god' were to resurrect them, what difficulty would there be?"
Wei Qiuxi was momentarily speechless; such a bizarre theory of chickens laying eggs and eggs hatching chickens could only come from this madman, Wei Xian Gui.
Wei Xian Gui glanced at Wei Ning and smiled bitterly. "Wei Zi, if you truly become a 'god,' all I ask is that you remember my favor in creating you and grant me release from this broken shell of a body so that I may reincarnate. I would be eternally grateful." With that, Wei Xian Gui bowed deeply to Wei Ning and said, "Thank you."
