Wang Chuyi carefully placed the Hell's Key before the Spirit Platform, while Sh Skeleton removed his own head and set it on the other side of the Spirit Platform. The skull spoke, "Old Wang, we are treading in the shadows, using unconventional means. Once you descend, move lightly; otherwise, if you disturb the Yin Division, it will be disastrous."
Wang Tuozi chuckled, "I know, it's just illegal entry, right? I'm aware."
Sh Skeleton nodded, "That's good. I've waited for you in this world for so many years and have done many harmful deeds just to fulfill your century-long dream. Since they have been dead for a hundred years, why must you hold onto their souls and prevent them from reincarnating? Isn't that a bit excessive?"
Wang Tuozi replied solemnly, "They were all killed by my hand. I need to help them return to life; otherwise, I won't find peace in this life or the next. Chang Jing won't forgive me either."
"Forget it," Sh Skeleton shook his head. "Did you bring the items?"
Wang Tuozi pulled out a box from his robe, revealing a segment of Yin Dragon inside. "This is an Infant Spirit not yet eight months old; I searched for it for a long time."
Sh Skeleton's headless skeleton took it in hand. "The items are complete, but you need to think carefully about this."
Wang Tuozi waved his hand impatiently. "Hurry up! I’m waiting to go home and take a shower."
Sh Skeleton ceased speaking and sat down again. Wang Tuozi followed suit, both of them sitting cross-legged. Time passed slowly until suddenly the Hell's Key erupted with red light, connecting the Yin Dragon with the shadowy figure beneath the lady painting. Sh Skeleton shouted loudly, "Yin Spirit does not emerge; when will it?"
At that moment, red light burst forth from above their heads as Sh Skeleton and Wang Chuyi's images appeared. They exchanged glances and swiftly entered the Yin Dragon.
These two entities were indeed the Yin Spirits of Sh Skeleton and Wang Tuozi.
High-level immortals produce Yang Gods; if there is no hope for a Yang God, they resort to cultivating Yin Spirits instead. The so-called Yin Spirit represents a ghostly realm of immortals that can undergo Soul Snatching for reincarnation. Some individuals fail to attain superior inner alchemy techniques or have already declined in their cultivation during their lifetime; thus, they cultivate Yin Spirits to seek rebirth through Soul Snatching—this is known as the "last resort."
As the red light flashed by, everything returned to calmness as if nothing had happened.
Only the Destiny Seven Star Lamp suddenly dimmed.
Lin Lingsu arrived on the night breeze, still stunningly beautiful yet slightly paler than before. Her expression was cold and indifferent, with a faint scar barely visible on her face—if not for Wei Ning's exceptional eyesight, it would have gone unnoticed.
Lin Lingsu stood under the eaves, staring blankly at Wei Ning before suddenly sighing softly. "You truly are him."
Wei Ning looked coldly at Lin Lingsu, secretly on guard.
Lin Lingsu glanced at Wei Ning and then at the Seven Star Lamp he was guarding before suddenly saying, "Hand it over to me."
Wei Ning interrupted firmly, "Impossible."
Lin Lingsu furrowed her brows and said, "Why don't you understand?"
Wei Ning replied loudly, "I don't understand, but I only know that once a teacher, always a father. This lamp is crucial to my master's life and death. How could I possibly hand it over to you?"
Lin Lingsu urgently said, "You have no idea what that great demon Wang Chuyi intends to do. He is simply using you!"
Wei Ning raised an eyebrow and retorted, "Using me? At least my master wouldn't try to turn me into a Blood Corpse like you!"
Lin Lingsu stared at Wei Ning in shock, her tone softening as she said, "Alright, Wei Ning, I know I was wrong before. But now there are no obstacles between us. Everything that happened before was forced upon me by Ning Suwen. He is dead now, and no one in this world can stop us. Come back with me, please. Come back to Dragon Tiger Mountain. Zhu You can no longer accommodate you, but I am not afraid. I can give you everything you want, as long as you come with me..."
Wei Ning shook his head and said, "Everything?"
"Yes, everything!"
Wei Ning chuckled in disbelief, "Lin Lingsu, how long do you plan to keep deceiving me? Don't forget that you're already someone else's wife. Please try to uphold some responsibilities as a married woman."
Lin Lingsu hurriedly explained, "I didn't! Marrying Li Xin was just a temporary measure for me; I only..."
Clang! Wei Ning drew his Peach Wood Sword, holding it firmly in his hand. With sword in one hand and umbrella in the other, he declared loudly, "How am I to know that your words today aren't just another 'temporary measure,' Lin Lingsu? Enough of this pointless talk; when we meet again, we will be enemies! If we must fight, then let it be so. As long as the lamp exists, so do we; if the lamp goes out, we perish—it's as simple as that."
Lin Lingsu gazed at Wei Ning with a hint of sorrow and moved towards the door, her graceful figure standing in opposition to him without any intention of attacking. "Wei Ning," she said softly, "you know that I would rather betray the world than betray you. In this world, the only person I cannot harm is you."
"Heh." Wei Ning laughed instead of getting angry. "Back when you captured me at Dragon Tiger Mountain, you seemed quite eager."
"That was because..." Lin Lingsu hastily defended herself.
"Forget it; I don't want to bring up the past anymore. I've already died once at your hands; let's consider that Wei Ning dead. The current me has never met you before; feel free to act without mercy."
"Hand over the lamp to me. I promise not to harm a single hair on your head. I've set up the Jade Maiden's reverse closure here; all exits are blocked. If you truly wish to fight me to the death, the outcome won't be optimistic."
Wei Ning shouted back, "So what?"
Lin Lingsu stomped her foot and exclaimed, "Wei Ning, can't you see? Wang Chuyi's plan is to unleash three thousand evil spirits to disrupt the balance between yin and yang. When the laws of the earth break down, chaos will ensue in the human realm. You are aiding tyranny!"
At this moment, Wei Ning couldn't hear Lin Lingsu's words at all; he was convinced that she had come seeking revenge against Wang Chuyi. Silent but filled with killing intent.
Lin Lingsu glanced at the clock and said, "Time is running out. If Wang Tuozi succeeds, there will be great calamity, and Wei Ning will be in trouble."
To explain the concept of Yin Spirit, perhaps everyone is still unclear. Let me tell a story that might help clarify:
This event took place about one hundred and twenty years ago during the Late Qing Dynasty. A person from Guizhou committed a crime in Sichuan and was sentenced to death by beheading. Coincidentally, the executioner was the best friend of this death row inmate. The inmate said to his friend, "You are my best friend; you must help me."
The executioner replied, "You have been sentenced to death; how can I help you? Here’s what we’ll do: when we get to the execution ground, I will assist you."
"Get to the execution ground? You're going to kill me; how can you help me?"
"I'll teach you. When my blade comes down, I will shout 'Run!' and you must run for your life." The executioner had no choice but to deceive him in this way. In reality, when the blade fell, the head would be severed instantly—there would be no chance to escape.
However, this death row inmate had a strong will to survive and took his words seriously, committing them to memory. During the execution, he felt confident and was not sad at all. It was his friend, the executioner, who felt sorrowful, knowing that he had no choice but to carry out the sentence. As the inmate knelt down for execution, the executioner prepared to strike and tapped his friend's head lightly: "Pay attention!" Then he brought down the blade and shouted, "Run!" Just as the head fell.
At that moment, the death row inmate remembered the executioner's words and ran for his life. He fled all the way from Xichuan to Dongchuan, where he even started a business. Remarkably, he married and had several children.
Twenty years later, this executioner was on official business in Dongchuan investigating a criminal case. While dining at a hotel, he was shocked to see that the shop owner was none other than his friend whom he had supposedly executed! The shop owner had a wife and children as well. This startled him greatly. The shop owner recognized the executioner too but hesitated to greet him; after all, he was an escaped convict. He managed to invite him inside and then knelt down before the executioner to express his gratitude: "Thank you for helping me back then. Now I have a family and run a shop here. I am forever grateful for your life-saving kindness!" This left the executioner utterly confused; how could this be? He thought he had executed him!
Perplexed, the executioner returned to Chengdu and mentioned this strange incident to friends. He even went back to the cemetery to dig up the body—indeed, it had turned into white bones! What an incredible mystery! This story gradually spread until it finally reached the ears of the death row inmate. Upon hearing it, he was stunned and realized that he had truly been killed; it was over for him—his entire being had turned into a pool of blood.
