"She's gone," the Phoenix Maiden said, flashing a bright smile at Wei Ning as she bounced out of the ward. "Do you think they look good?" 0

Wei Ning looked at the Phoenix Maiden's teeth, each one as translucent and white as fine porcelain, and nodded in admiration. 0

As dusk began to settle, the Phoenix Maiden glanced around and said, "If we don't leave soon, the God of Joy will get angry. It's better to head back early." With that, she hopped onto her motorcycle, waved at Wei Ning, and they rode off together. 0

Upon returning to the Corpse Driver Inn, the innkeeper had already prepared dinner. After exchanging a few casual words with the Phoenix Maiden, he retreated to the back room, leaving only the Phoenix Maiden and Wei Ning in the dimly lit space. The flickering lights combined with the old building and the presence of the God of Joy behind closed doors created an eerie atmosphere. 0

The Phoenix Maiden first paid her respects to the God of Joy before sitting down to eat with Wei Ning. They chatted intermittently while eating, but soon Wei Ning felt his eyelids growing heavier and suddenly slumped forward. 0

Seeing Wei Ning in a daze, the Phoenix Maiden set her bowl down and laughed, "No matter how cunning you are, you still have to drink my foot bath water. What kind of expert from the Chen Prefecture Wei Family are you? Just how skilled are you? More skilled than my tricks?" 0

With a triumphant grin, she pulled out a piece of clothing and a hat worn by the God of Joy and placed them on Wei Ning's head, positioning him against the doorframe. "One, two, three, four, five... Hehe, that's twelve! Business is really good; all you filthy men with your treacherous hearts will end up like the God of Joy—staying put in hell." 0

As if to vent her frustration further, she kicked one of the God of Joy's figures. 0

Noticing the time, the Phoenix Maiden sighed. "Oh dear, it's getting late. I should go out for a bit; it's been ages since I've had something this delicious. There's no other place like this for miles." She then pulled out a yellow bean-sized item from her pocket and tossed it into her mouth, crunching it loudly with a satisfying sound. 0

After changing into a fitted black outfit that blended into the night, she looked around at the dim surroundings—the moonlight was faint. The Phoenix Maiden muttered something under her breath before revving up her motorcycle and disappearing into the darkness. 0

Just after she vanished, Wei Ning—who had been feigning unconsciousness—suddenly opened his eyes wide. Two gleaming lights shone from his gaze: one black and one golden. 0

Wei Ning was no ordinary person; though he wore a human guise, he was actually an immortal Blood Corpse. Mere Curse Poison from the Phoenix Maiden was nothing to him; even any lethal poison would have no effect. He had pretended to be unconscious to see what exactly the Phoenix Maiden intended to do. 0

The night was dark, and visibility was nearly nonexistent, but Wei Ning had extraordinary eyesight. With his Yin-Yang Eye, he locked onto the swiftly moving Phoenix Maiden ahead, following her from a distance that would be difficult for an ordinary person to reach. Naturally, the Phoenix Maiden was unaware of her pursuer. 0

The Phoenix Maiden clearly did not expect anyone to be behind her, so she paid no mind to her surroundings as she ran towards the county town. After traveling for over an hour, she surprisingly stopped at the Dental Hospital where it all began. The hospital was closed for the night, shrouded in darkness, yet the Phoenix Maiden seemed familiar with the place. She pried open the iron lock, glanced around, and then crouched low to slip inside. Wei Ning hurriedly followed her in. 0

Once inside, although there were no lights, Wei Ning noticed that the storage cabinet in the operating room was open. The Phoenix Maiden had her back to him as she busied herself with something in the office. 0

"How strange," she muttered to herself with a laugh. "There were so many at first; how could they suddenly all be gone?" 0

Then she exclaimed, "Ah, here it is!" 0

The Phoenix Maiden pulled out a jar from the drawer, her eyes gleaming as she looked at its contents. Wei Ning realized that this jar was used to store patients' teeth. The Phoenix Maiden delicately picked up teeth of various colors—black, yellow, and white—with her slender fingers. Some were healthy, some decayed, and others were stained with smoke residue. One by one, she stuffed them into her mouth, which was already salivating in anticipation. Then she bit down hard, producing a sharp grinding sound as bone met bone. Crunch, crunch... 0

The noise echoed eerily in the silent night sky, sending chills down Wei Ning's spine with every sound that made his gums ache. 0

Wei Ning felt his stomach churn violently; he desperately wanted to vomit but couldn't. 0

The Phoenix Maiden squinted her eyes in apparent enjoyment as she chewed on the teeth like they were perfectly roasted soybeans. The crunching sounds resonated loudly in the deserted hospital, akin to a knife scraping across glass, tightening his heart with dread. 0

After consuming all the teeth in the jar, she shook it lightly and confirmed there were no more left before reluctantly placing it back where it belonged. She then quietly slipped out, ensuring to close the doors and windows behind her as if nothing had happened. 0

Wei Ning remained hidden inside, curious about what the Phoenix Maiden would do next. 0

After finishing her meal, seemingly still unsatisfied, she wiped her mouth and paced back and forth in the room as if making a decision. Finally, she exited the room and closed everything behind her—of course, Wei Ning had already stepped out first. 0

Inside the Dental Hospital, calmness returned as if nothing had transpired. However, perhaps the doctors would soon notice something missing from their office... 0

The Phoenix Maiden arrived at a crossroads and pulled out some paper cuttings shaped like children—leftover from that morning at the house of the lost child. She tossed one of the paper figures into the air while murmuring what sounded like a spell. The paper figure unfurled in the wind and transformed into a delicate child-like form that began to bounce away joyfully. 0

Not long after, the child returned, leading another child behind him, the very one that the Phoenix Maiden had saved earlier that morning. 0

The Phoenix Maiden held the child in her arms, looking left and right as if hesitating about something. Then she placed the child on the ground, only to pick him up again, repeating this several times as if engaged in an internal struggle. 0

After a long while, it seemed that the Phoenix Maiden had made up her mind. Holding the child close, she surprisingly brought the child's mouth to her own... 0
