Ning Suwen stood firm, her feet stepping lightly on Yubu, her hands forming seals as she chanted, "Ren Gao Protect Me, Ding Chou Protect Me, Ren He Du Wo. Ding You Protection, Ren Can Guan Hun, Ding Si Nourish Spirit, Lunar Canopy, Earth Door." As she moved through Yubu, she invoked the Xuan Nu Zhen Ren and Mingtang Sitting and Lying techniques to conceal herself. "Hurry like the Nine Xuan Female Decree," she urged.
Upon finishing her incantation, a loud crack echoed through the air as a rift opened up. A woman appeared mid-air, holding two lotus flowers, dressed in crimson above and yellow below. Her features were strikingly beautiful, radiating an ethereal aura.
Ning Suwen tilted her head back proudly and declared, "How does my Yin Spirit Jade Maiden compare to your Sun God Jade Man?"
"Who will win or lose? We'll find out after a fight," Lin Lingsu shouted as she lunged at Ning Suwen with her Seven Star Sword. Ning Suwen remained as steadfast as a mountain, her white hair billowing in the wind like an Immortal. She laughed heartily and said, "Very well, today I shall teach you this formless divine escape technique."
At that moment, Xu Suwen's black and white whips shot toward Ning Suwen in a bizarre wave-like pattern.
Despite facing two opponents, Ning Suwen not only held her ground but seemed to grow more relaxed. "Lin, watch closely. This Six Locks Secret Technique can level mountains and seas alike. Once this technique is used, it could harm Sentient Beings; it should only be employed in times of calamity." With that, Ning Suwen cast a talisman and smiled. "This is the Nine Traps Talisman; it can summon Taiyi, Thunder Lord, Wind Master, Rain Master, lightning, and the Registrar of the Divine Records."
As she completed her spell, the skies darkened with ominous clouds and thunder roared. The ground before Xu Suwen collapsed violently. Startled, Xu Suwen quickly retreated just in time; a chasm several meters wide and bottomless opened up between them and Ning Suwen. Had Xu Suwen been even a moment slower, she would have perished.
"Xu, you may watch from the side for now," Ning Suwen instructed.
Xu Suwen and Lin Lingsu's faces were filled with terror as they realized just how vast the gap between them and Ning Suwen truly was—far greater than they had ever imagined.
Ning Suwen continued, "Anyone wishing to change their residence must heed this: when great stars fall and positions shift—when the Southern Dipper is hidden—do not attempt this method. Remember this well."
Seeing Ning Suwen explain both the benefits and drawbacks of this technique only deepened Lin Lingsu's confusion; her expression turned even more inscrutable as she wondered what Ning Suwen was truly planning.
Ning Suwen went on to say, "This Five Elements Divine Escape divides into nine forms: Earth Escape, Human Escape, Wind Escape, Cloud Escape, Dragon Escape, Tiger Escape, Concealment, Ghost Escape. I will first teach you the Concealment method known as Ding-Mao Hidden Body. To hide oneself effectively, one can use the Six Ding Concealment formation to close doors and depart. The incantation goes: 'Reside in Azure Dragon, traverse Pleiades, pass through Mingtang, dwell under Moonlight; exit through Earth’s door and hide beneath Heavenly Canopy to conceal the Jade Maiden.' Hurry like the Supreme Law’s command. Do you remember?"
As she finished speaking, Lin Lingsu felt a blur before her eyes; suddenly Ning Suwen was gone. When she looked up again, Ning Suwen stood right before her with a smile.
“Have you learned the Six Ding Hidden Escape Technique?” Ning Suwen asked with a smile. Lin Lingsu was momentarily at a loss, awkwardly nodding. Ning Suwen continued, “Now, let me show you the Wind Escape.”
With a lotus-like motion of her hands, Ning Suwen chanted an incantation. Suddenly, winds and clouds surged around them, sand and stones flying everywhere. The bamboo forest was whipped by the fierce wind, bending low to the ground. Lin Lingsu felt as if steel blades were slicing across her face, and for a moment, she could hardly keep her eyes open.
“Now observe the Cloud Escape. The so-called winds and clouds come from the Dragon Tiger. The Cloud Escape is the initial stance of the Dragon Tiger’s evasion. Watch closely as I demonstrate the two evasions of Dragon Tiger.”
Ning Suwen stood with her hair and robes billowing in the wind, her attire fluttering dramatically. She stepped onto the Seven Star Yubu, and suddenly, a tempest arose in the sky. A dragon and a tiger appeared mid-air, baring their fangs and claws, roaring fiercely.
Ning Suwen shouted, “Now witness the Earth Evasion, Human Evasion! Lin, I will only demonstrate once. Remember my incantations and formations; there will be no second chance.”
Lin Lingsu was mesmerized by Ning Suwen's magical techniques. Her mind raced as she quickly noted down the remaining seven evasions taught by Ning Suwen.
“Have you written it down?” Ning Suwen called out loudly. “Now watch my Ghostly Technique!”
Ning Suwen proclaimed, “Upper Xuan Spirit, heed my call from Sentient Beings! Seven thoughts and seven summons; three souls come forth! Take on a form that follows transformation; respond to my command! Swiftly as per the law!”
Behind Lin Lingsu, an object began to materialize slowly. Ning Suwen explained, “This Ghost Escape is a summoning technique for the Underworld’s Yin Division. Did you see it clearly?”
Lin Lingsu trembled violently, astonished that such profound magic existed in the world; it felt as if it could shake the Netherworld itself.
Ning Suwen laughed heartily, “If you have mastered the Five Elements Divine Escape, you need not worry about being idle on the Underworld Road. Just go to the Underworld and review your lessons.”
Lin Lingsu was greatly alarmed; it turned out that while Ning Suwen was teaching her the Five Elements Divine Escape Technique, she was simultaneously using Ghost Escape to put her in peril. However, Lin Lingsu had been prepared; she swiftly formed a hand seal and forcefully shifted three feet forward.
Ning Suwen's hand seals were forming faster and faster as she said, "Not bad, you are quite young yet have mastered the art of instantaneous movement. You managed to shift three feet in an instant to evade my Ghostly Technique. However, my Ghost Escape has already been activated. Let's see when you will finally surrender!"
With a cold laugh, Ning Suwen watched as Lin Lingsu was now drenched in sweat. The entity summoned by Ghost Escape relentlessly pursued Lin Lingsu. She knew that this Evil Spirit represented the Ninth Underworld, and if caught, she would likely fall directly from the mortal realm into the Ninth Underworld, never to be reborn.
Ning Suwen had already made up her mind to send Lin Lingsu into an abyss from which there was no return. That was why she had imparted the Five Elements Divine Escape without hesitation; she knew that even if she taught it to her, Lin Lingsu would never be able to fully utilize it in her lifetime.
"Mengmeng, if you do not assist me now, when will you?" Lin Lingsu shouted as she swung her Seven Star Sword.
"Don't forget who taught you this Sun God Jade Man," Ning Suwen retorted loudly. With a pointed finger, she prepared for the Golden Armored Deity to descend and aid Lin Lingsu, but the Jade Maiden beside her had already begun to move with Hualien in hand, ready to intervene.
