Zhang Ye grasped the gun in his hand as if he were caressing a woman, sighing, "This is the stuff of Foreign Devils. It's really something."
The next day, the three of them got ready. Zhang Ye brought along a long-unused back knife, while Wu Haozi carried a dark, mysterious shovel for an unknown purpose. Yang Na, aside from changing into a suit, seemed to have nothing else with him. The suit was Armani, meticulously tailored, indicating that Yang Na was a man of refined taste.
Unfortunately, Wu Haozi was not; he always had remnants of last night's meal stuck in his teeth.
"I already had someone buy the tickets for me yesterday. It's for nine o'clock this morning, so everyone hurry up or we'll miss it," Zhang Ye said to the two.
Yang Na smiled slightly and replied, "Are you really that naive? Dragon Tiger Mountain is such a large company, and their ties with the government are deeply intertwined. They've long had secret connections with Public Safety Experts; their hidden lines are everywhere. If we travel openly like this, aren't we just telling them what we're up to? By the time you arrive at Lushan by train, I bet every pig and ant on Dragon Tiger Mountain will know our location and purpose."
Zhang Ye had never liked Yang Na, always feeling that any man who looked too clean-cut was unreliable. Coupled with Yang Na's constant need to appear unique and his flamboyant demeanor, Zhang Ye saw him as pretentious and deserving of strict reprimand.
If it weren't for the guns they had, he wouldn't even want to walk with Yang Na or glance at him. He shot Yang Na a cold look and said, "So what do you suggest we do? Fly there?"
Yang Na smirked mysteriously and said, "Exactly. You two go wash up first and then wait to see my methods."
He pulled out a colorful talisman from his pocket, covered in strange symbols that Zhang Ye and Wu Haozi recognized from their previous encounter with Yang Na's Golden Serpent. They knew this young master had some real skills and dared not underestimate him; they widened their eyes to see what kind of sorcery he was about to perform.
Yang Na instructed Zhang Ye and Wu Haozi to take a shower first. Although they were reluctant, he told them that if this method didn't work, they would fly to Lushan together at his expense. Reluctantly, they complied.
When they returned, Yang Na had already closed the door and surprisingly changed out of his Armani suit into a coarse cloth robe. Barefoot and wielding a sword, he looked like a Wandering Sorcerer performing some mystical rites. The ground was covered with White Grass that Yang Na had laid out, adorned with Deer Jerky, Fragrant Tea, Fruit Offerings, Candles, and twelve sets of Ceremonial Vessels as offerings. He gestured for them to sit on the White Grass and indicated that they should remain silent; otherwise, he would become angry.
Seeing Yang Na's elaborate setup made both men skeptical yet curious as they settled onto the ground. Yang Na began circling around the prepared area while chanting incantations. Suddenly, he bit his tongue until it bled, releasing a stream of true essence blood energy that sprayed into the air. With swift hand seals, just then a gust of dark wind arose accompanied by the clanging sounds of weapons clashing. In no time at all, a towering Deity appeared before Zhang Ye and Wu Haozi, leaving them utterly dumbfounded.
The Deity wielded a weapon, which suddenly transformed into a green dragon, baring its fangs and claws as it descended, charging straight at Yang Na. Both Zhang Ye and Wu Haozi could not help but gasp in surprise, but due to Yang Na's instructions, they had no choice but to swallow their words.
Yang Na remained calm, shielding her body with her hands as she recited an incantation: "Swiftly descend, auspicious one, I dare to face you now. Those who charge at me shall die; those who harm me shall perish. I invoke the righteous law; all saints descend. Urgent as the law commands."
With that, the green dragon retreated without a fight, nodding at Yang Na before stepping aside, seemingly waiting for her command.
Yang Na nodded back. Still murmuring her incantation, she soon began to conjure wisps of azure smoke that coalesced into a shape resembling purple clouds, swirling around the three of them. If it weren't for the solid ground beneath their feet, Zhang Ye and Wu Haozi might have thought they had ascended to the clouds, unable to suppress their admiration for Yang Na's Laoshan Dao Techniques.
After respectfully kneeling three times and bowing nine times, completing her offerings of incense and wine, Yang Na suddenly pulled out a porcelain bowl. She drew the characters for "Swift Wind" in vermilion and tossed it into the air. Suddenly, the wind began to rise from the ground, with the green dragon circling around them faster and faster. The wind grew stronger, and the mist thickened; Zhang Ye and Wu Haozi could barely open their eyes as the howling wind made their ears ache.
Time seemed to stretch indefinitely until Zhang Ye and Wu Haozi finally returned to reality, slowly opening their eyes.
"Dear travelers, we have arrived at our destination. Please disembark," Yang Na's magnetic voice rang out as she gestured invitingly with effortless grace.
"This girl would be wasting her talents if she didn't become a performer," Zhang Ye remarked sincerely as he looked at Yang Na, who had somehow changed into a pristine white suit.
"Wah," Wu Haozi suddenly coughed up some leftover food onto Yang Na's suit.
"I'm so sorry! It’s my first time… I feel really dizzy…" Wu Haozi scratched his head sheepishly and added, "I got your clothes dirty. How about you wear mine instead? It's from twenty years ago when I asked Cui to make it for me—it's thick and windproof. I've worn it for over twenty years without washing it..."
Yang Na's expression darkened, but she maintained her usual gentlemanly demeanor. "It's fine; I have another Versace outfit in my bag anyway. I never liked Armani much; I was planning to throw it away."
"That's good to hear… that's good…" Wu Haozi replied awkwardly.
The three of them finally noticed their surroundings. In the distance, they could see majestic mountains, shrouded in mist, filled with the sounds of birds and the fragrance of flowers.
Yang Na couldn't help but sigh, "Indeed, this is a fairy cave, with endless beauty atop perilous peaks. Compared to Lushan, it truly embodies the essence of beauty, where three thousand beauties pale in comparison."
"Lushan," Wu Haozi said, lacking the poetic flair of Yang Na. He swallowed hard and added, "So you mean, just by drawing some strange symbols, spitting out blood, and drinking some wine, you can fly directly from Hunan to Lushan? Faster than a plane?"
Yang Na shot him a disdainful glance, unimpressed by his lack of artistic sensibility. She proudly declared, "The art of spatial shifting from Laoshan is not child's play!"
Wu Haozi swallowed again and remarked, "If this is a way to make money, wouldn't it be a fortune?"
Yang Na replied lightly, "As for the cultivation and magical tools, they are secrets not passed down from Laoshan. This talisman alone is a relic from our ancient masters. There are very few left in this world. Each time I use one, it diminishes my supply. I was fortunate enough to encounter a master at the Ghost Market who sold me a few at a bargain—about one hundred thousand each."
"One hundred thousand per use? That's more expensive than first-class tickets!" Wu Haozi exclaimed.
"That's in US dollars," Yang Na said dismissively as she walked off to change her clothes.
With a clang, Zhang Ye had already drawn his long knife. Spitting on the ground, he growled fiercely, "Lin Lingsu! It's time to settle the score for those two shots from years ago. I'm here to collect my debt; my blade has been itching for action!"
